I mean, objectively it sucks (heheh pun very much intended) that censorship played a huge factor in the 90s Spidey cartoon, and obviously Morbius was a huge part of what got censored. It’s . . . charmingly daft to have him have full vampire fangs and yet suck “plasma” using hand-suckers. That said: I’d rather have had Morbius in the show than not, and aside from the unfortunately-necessary changes they kept him looking and acting like his traditional self (barring the costume update, which made sense given this was the “Anne Rice and trenchcoats 90s” for vampires and probably the then-current Edward Scissorhands meets Hellraiser outfit was probably deemed too kinky for a show that couldn’t even have a vampire drink blood). The “ahhhh must have PLASMA” stuff is, indeed, gloriously lame to the point of high camp, but at least they got him in the show. Ultimately, I appreciated that they got so much vampire/supernatural stuff on the cartoon, between Morbius and Blade and the whole vampire subplot as well as Dormammu, Mordo and such.
The censorship on Morbius backfired, the pulsating sucker hands are genuinely much more disgusting and terrifying than regular vampire fangs would've been. Like leeches on his palms. Gross.
Of course, the hunger for "plasma" instead of blood definitely did him no favors. Not helped by how much he says he NEEDS MOAR PLASMA.
This is a cool two-pack, they both look pretty good, but it's an easy pass since the Doctor Strange episode of Spider-Man might actually be my least favorite of the whole series and I don't really feel the need for an animated Morbius.
The new Carnage looks great! I loved that detailed body, but the new head and weapon arms really make him look cool.
Animated Prowler looks very cool as well.
I also think it's pretty rude to show this Retro Animated Spider-Man figure in the promo photo, considering a lot of people had issues with canceled pre-orders. At least do a reissue.
Is that Prowler head a re-use of the James Rhodes head that came with deluxe War Machine a few years ago? I lean towards no due to the goatee that Prowler doesn't have, but I'd have to look closely to see if there's any sculpt for the goatee--it may be 100% painted on. Aside from the goatee it looks pretty close.
I HATE it when they re-use heads for different characters, or more specifically faces. They hadn't done it for a while until they just did it for Ka-Zar, so now I'll be looking for re-used heads all the time... 😳
I'm really excited for strange, looks so good and I love the pseudo MCU the cartoons had, seeing DD and now Strange makes me think we ll see a punisher and or Blade as well
tempted by Morbius, Strange and the new Carnage.
Hope we see animated Vulture soon.
@enigmaticclarity I don't think it's the same head. If nothing else, Rhodey has a goatee, which I think is sculpted on. Maybe the hair is the same, but I think (hope) it's a different headsculpt. That Rhodey head is huge!

Who is Ka-Zar reusing?

Someone on Reddit suggested it's the 20th Anniversary Cap and Commander Rogers unmasked head with new hair. Looks to me like they're right.
@enigmaticclarity It's not the same. Chins are completely different.
Also, the sculptor, Paul Harding, posted on X he created new head sculpts for Cable, Prowler, & Ka-Zar.

Came in here just to say the same. Confirmed, looking at both Cmdr Rogers, 20th Anni unmasked, they both have cleft chins, but even those two sculpts aren't the same because Cmdr has a more furrowed brow. And definitely neither of them are reused for Ka-Zar.

I have no need for another Prowler figure, but I would buy this if Hobie's unmasked head wasn't on the body in the package.
Far be it from me to complain about getting an extra head, but at least place it right in the package. They didn’t have a Norman Osborn head on the Goblin figure, for instance.
Parker/Smythe arrived and I’m impressed by how nice both figures are. I’m glad I waited for a discount, but even at full price, I think I’d be quite satisfied. Parker is really nice, pretty close to what I remember from the show. I’ll admit I was not an avid watcher. I like that the camera has lots of painted details, and I love the flesh colored thwipp hands, been wanting a pair of those for so long.
Now Smythe, what’s his story? Is he some kind of mer-person? The things on his appendages look very much like fish fins to me. Not sure what the shoulder spikes are supposed to be. I barely remember him from the show being anything more than a foil, but I don’t know anything about his back story. He’s pretty nice for a figure though, with nearly an entirely unique sculpt.
