The torrential downpour of Hasbro just keeps hitting. Got the two-pack today. I know the shading gimmick is kind of weird but... I really like this buck for Matty and it's a fun variation of the all-red one from the three pack last year. Daredevil continues to be one of those characters I can't say no to.
Once I get a DD/Hydroman set to open, I don't think I'll put DD with the animated figures. He doesn't have cel shading, he has comic cross hatching. That's an entirely different style. He'd look better with NECA's Mirage figures.
I posted in the wrong thread earlier— I got the Daredevil and Hydro Man set, and it’s very cool. This Daredevil has excellent poseability, and the determined head sculpt looks great. I like the shading/cross-hatching. It’s distinctive.
Hydro Man is very cool in his full water form. I like his shading as well. Love the personality in his kind of crazed facial expression.
I swear we need IDW and Marvel to sign off on a couple of Daredevil/TMNT crossovers. Maybe have one that is publish by Marvel and is in Black & White, set in the Max/Mirage Universe and features art by Jim Lawson, while the other volume is published by IDW and is set in that universe, with the artwork done by Kevin Eastman.
Funny thing opening up the DD set - I was checking out Daredevil, thought, 'eh, not sure i love the grimacing face, that's too bad," then opened up the bag with his hands and out popped his normal head I didn't realize the set would include, and was like OH! NICE! No clue he had two head options. I buy too many action figure. (Swapped the heads immediately. I like my Daredevil as stoic as possible.)

Actually speaking of the alternate headsculpts, something I happened to notice yesterday is that the neutral headsculpt features piping on the headsculpt over the eyebrows, but the grimacing head does not. So you basically get your more contemporary Marco Checchetto styled Daredevil with the neutral head as well as the classic Frank Miller, David Mazzucchelli, Lee Weeks, Rich Buckler and Ron Garney styled Daredevil with the snarling portrait respectively

I hadn't noticed that til you pointed it out - I like this figure more and more the longer I check out the little paint details.
Yeah I absolutely adore the deco on this Daredevil figure. I've been wanting a Daredevil like this since I started reading the books 30 years ago. And I think this comic styled paint job will be the fpaint scheme in which all future Hasbro figures will be judged. Also this might be a really bold claim but if I still had all of my old Daredevil figures from past to present, I wouldn't have them for long lol. I'd just put them all into a donation box and in big bold letters, I'd write "Mistakes Were Made"Funny thing opening up the DD set - I was checking out Daredevil, thought, 'eh, not sure i love the grimacing face, that's too bad," then opened up the bag with his hands and out popped his normal head I didn't realize the set would include, and was like OH! I got the Doctor Strange/Morbius two pack today. I really only got it because I can't turn down a Doctor Strange figure, but Morbius is pretty neat! And I adore the head sculpt on this strange, it's phenomenal, but I'm beginning to realize I just really, really resent caps that inhibit movement. Not being able to raise his arms at the shoulder is pretty lame. The colors are gorgeous though.
Strange thing happened to me today. I received a shipment from Pulse for the Daredevil/Hydroman box set and I didn't even order it, lol. I checked my bank account and I wasn't charged? I will have to give them a call Friday morning when I'm off work and see what happened.

Perhaps someone in your family gave it to you as a present? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth though, if you're allowed to keep that set and Hasbro has no problems with that, hold onto it. That Daredevil is one of the best figures ever produced. And the cel shading is so comic accurate. Trust me on this one. The moment you open it you'll have an insatiable urge to read Daredevil comics in vast quantities.
The new Spider-Man animated show might be a great template for new animated style figures. The concept art so much better than most Marvel animation.
I was excited about that for almost two seconds. Right up until I saw it was an MCU Spidey prequel.
Can someone tell me when we should start looking for that retro carded Walmart exclusive Venom online? (I say online because that's my only hope of finding it).
