Seriously - how are y'all getting Ock to stand up? These tentacles are awful - they will not take any new pose. Try to get him to stand, they splay. Try to put them in a new position - they won't move.
This figure is infuriating.
Side note, has anyone removed his glasses, waist belt or the tentacles? Was any of that easy? I have an idea for something.
I haven't been able to get Ock to stand on his tentacles, but that isn't a huge priority for me. Other poses I'm able to do, they're just hard to bend.
I found it surprisingly easy to get Otto to stand on the tentacles. I got him to stand first try. He's still standing in the display. Just gotta find the right positions. I curved the tentacles so they come slightly forward then straight down, and the upper tentacles come further forward to counter balance the weight of the body.

That is exactly the case for me too, with the counter balancing and even curving the support tentacles slightly forward. I haven't really touched him since the first half hour of owning him.
All of it is right--they're hard to bend, and when you do bend them they tend to deform back to their original shape to varying extents. But it's all also fairly easy to compensate for. Ock's tentacles aren't easy to use, but they're by FAR the best tentacles I've seen aside from the LED lamp tentacle customs. I have one of those and they're amazing.
I got mine to stand on two tentacles within the first five minutes, but then the tentacles slowly deformed back a bit and he fell. After a few more tries I realized you have to bend them about 20% past where you actually want them, and then they will eventually bend back to the spot you're aiming for.
Also always remember to use two hands ON the tentacles when bending them with one as close to the base on the back as you can manage. If you've got one hand on the tentacles and one on his body and just let his back be the fulcrum for your bending then they will eventually break at the base and rip the tentacles out of his back.
There's something amiss with the formatting in Ru1977's last post. The font size is small in it, and all posts after it on this page are getting screwy formatting. Should fix itself on the next page if Ru1977 doesn't fix it himself.
Well damn, I see it too and I apologize. I didn't mean to break our thread.
I have no idea what I did or how to undo!

It's not a big deal. I see this happen occasionally on all web-based forums. Reddit is the only one I've never seen it on.
I should probably sit this thread out after what I did to it, but I finally got some sort of response to my email to customer service over the missing Doc Ock tentacle heads (the ones I threw away and didn't know I'd done so until watching the Robo review of the figure). They send me some comic Spider-Man figures. Would have been nice to get replacement parts but I am in no way complaining.
Tried Ock walking on three tentacles and that stupid figure just keeps falling. I despise figures that refuse to stand up. I've tried the bending the tentacles way past where I want them so they end up in the right spot - fail. Tried the balancing on three - fail. Hate it. Also, having the flat connectors not connect with a stronger connection is pretty cheap - that needed some kind of connector that can hold, like a ball joint or something stronger.
I think Robo posted a video that seemed to have helpful tips on how to get Otto to stand. Maybe check that out?
Did I still break this thread?!
