My dream DaFoe movie is:
Willem DaFoe and Frances McDormand where Frances McDormand plays Willem DaFoe and Willem DaFoe plays Frances McDormand. They are inverses of one another!
Got the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man because Amazon once again changed their delivery date.
Great figure, just wish he had forearm cuts. The head sculpt looks better in person than it does in any of the promotional photos. I think it's because the stubble is less noticeable.
I still wish we could get a whole arc of movies with Willem Dafoe as Osborn covering Dark Reign, Dark Avengers, and Siege.

He’d be down for it.

You know I do too. I'd be fine bringing back Colin Farrell too. Michael Mando,
Steven Yeun
And cast someone as Ares, Moonstone, and Daken.
Colin Farrell? Didn't they get a guy to play the same role on Netflix?

They did and he was fantastic, but if we're going with scene-chewing multiverse actors then let's go with scene-chewing multiverse actors, heh.
I liked Farrell well enough, though I remember him being a bit too campy. I loved the Netflix take on Bullseye and his origin. I'd hate to see that abandoned just when it was getting good. Like for NWH, I could understand pulling in each of the previous Peters. Like we went over, it validated their arcs. Affleck's Daredevil movie, I don't think is on the same level of nostalgia with what Raimi established (though probably better than the ASM films). Granted, I haven't watched it in a while, and have never seen the director's cut. I just don't look back on that one as fondly. But if they got the NWH treatment, i'm sure they could validate that franchise as well.
@normdapito I definitely see your point and would actually prefer Wilson Bethel return in, say, Born Again.
The difference for me is I never had a lot fondness for the Raimi films. I've said before but I think if id been a kid when those came out, I would have definitely loved them. And not that one needed to be young to enjoy them, but I certainly needed to be. And while I do feel Raimi's movies were better than the Affleck Daredevil, I actually view them as just as campy as Farrell's Bullseye. My perspective, but he'd fit in with Raimi's Norman Osborn.

I feel the same way about the Raimi movies. I liked the first, loved the second, hated the third, but on rewatching, they are definitely very campy and not my cup of tea, nor up to today's standard, or pre-Phase 4 MCU standard. I even remember enjoying the Daredevil movie, knowing it wasn't perfect. (I actually took my then girlfriend/now wife to see that opening weekend, Valentine's Day. She was not thrilled.) Back then I might have even defended it over the Raimi movies for its grittiness. But it's another one, that in retrospect, doesn't hold up. I'm not very interested in looking backwards. I like the forward trajectory of the MCU and Netflix and D+ series. I don't want the current MCU to have to rely on nostalgia and fan service to make a good movie though. It's a gimmick that Deadpool 3 is heavily leaning into, and while I'm sure they'll handle it in a fun way, I don't the MCU to rely on that gimmick. The focus needs to go back to character development, not so much the lead up to the next big crossover event (which is what plagues comics so much these days). All that said, I'm sure that the current MCU could work wonders with the actors of the past and the characters they've played. There's evidence of that. I just feel like it's a crutch to get people in movie seats.
I have no interest in Farrell playing Bullseye. Would rather they get the Netflix actor back. Outside of Secret Wars, I don't really want many returning versions from the OG movies
@normdapito I actually completely agree. I would be happy with more Dafoe, but I've always wanted a new Norman and still hope the MCU introduces one eventually. I'd even be fine skipping over the Green Goblin phase since it has been done, and even MCU Peter would be aware his reality's Norman is capable of becoming that. I still think having that version of Norman play out the Dark Reign/Seige plot, or the MCU version of it, could be fantastic. Introducing him as the leader of HAMMER, the new SHIELD-type organization, could be awesome as the audience, and at least Peter, would be bracing for him to turn villainous, which shouldn't happen until the very end of, if I had my way, the phase. Yeah, an entire phase of Dark Reign, resulting in Norman finally flipping his lid and invading New Asgard on Earth and pulling all the heroes together to stop him. Wilson Bethel as Bullseye would be perfect for the type of character he would recruit, and would probably almost seem like Norman was pulling a suicide squad until it becomes clear that, no, he's fully one of them and working behind the scenes toward his own dastardly stuff.
That said, if they're going into the multiverse and using it for cameos and nostalgia bait, then yeah... may as well bring Farrell back. I don't need it, and don't even REALLY want it, but I'd take it. And I fully expect DP3 to be a lot of fun and likely the last multiverse thing I really need. I felt pretty done with it already but... yeah I'll take a movie with Deadpool doing it.
But I would really rather any more Norman be entirely new as NWH was a fantastic love letter and resolution for the other Peters AND Dafoe's Norman.
@e-rock I would rather they do that too. I would REALLY rather that, but I haven't heard anything about him coming back. I hope it's just a tightly kept secret.
And I know Secret Wars probably will be a real mega multiversal, everyone from all the Marvel in the last 30 years blowout, and I definitely get why that's appealing for people, but at this point... after NWH, and definitely after DP3 I'm betting, I would really prefer Secret Wars be populated with characters like Captain Carter and Maria Rambeau. Just alternate versions of characters we know, or even alternate versions played by different people. I'm ready for someone else playing Iron Man for a movie. Yeah, I bet RDJ is coming back for that one, but I'd be just as happy to have an entirely new person. Even if it IS Tom Cruise.
That's what I'm looking for as well. Different actors playing characters we are already familiar with. Even if it's temporary, like Jim Halpert as Reed Richards. That's one of the things I didn't love about Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Yeah, it was explained WHY all the Dr Stranges looked the same (nexus being), but I still would like to have seen some variety in casting, for the fun of it.
I agree, Deadpool 3 is the last movie I'll need for nostalgia baiting. It's already looking like it will go all out for that, if rumors are true. But that will certainly be enough for me. Unless it's just one more catalyst for Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars. But seriously, where do you even go from there? I'd be pretty satisfied if they brought stuff back down to Earth (ONE Earth) for a while. I've seen a rumor that they're going to be building KINGPIN up to be the new main adversary. Street level has always interested me more in the books. If done right, it could be really interesting to see in live action.
