Yeah, that's my thinking too. Might as well sculpt it so it's ready to go if and when the talent signs off on clearance. Which they obviously didn't, or had to work things out, which is why we got the separate releases. I'll never know for sure, of course, but something tells me Tobey wasn't the hold up- Andrew was. Hence why, even now that we're getting his unmasked head, it's on ASM 2 packaging and not NWH.
Also, I wouldn't lump Kang and Agatha into the same category, per se. Kang is a traffic cone- one I can barely get to stand without leaning him against something, let alone strike any interesting poses. Sculpt-wise he looks great, but the rest of him leaves something to be desired. Agatha I can get to stand just fine, and because of her dress, she looks cool in even the most vanilla of poses. She has WAY more character- from her face sculpt, her pose, etc. But I digress...
I haven't had standing issues with Kang at all.
The $50 price tag on Green Goblin reeks of Boba Fett tax.
"Yeah, it's ridiculous, but they'll pay it..."
Literally $15-20 more than reasonable, even calibrated to current pricing of Marvel Legends.
Green Goblin looks like exactly how I want them to play these kind of releases. Do it right, with a unique sculpt and the extras and accessories and get the glider right, and you've got something that's potentially worth the price tag. Figuarts is also charging quite a premium for their Green Goblin vs what a normal figure costs, suggesting that it's not crazy to think it just costs a bit more to do this character right.
An all new sculpt with only this one possible use and a big ass, articulated vehicle ALSO only useable for this one release... yeah, 50 is fine lol. Especially when our only other option is 120+ and out of scale. Especially, especially when he went up with Ock who they could have applied a similar "people will pay it" tax to and remarkably didn't.
That Willem likeness is real good.

I do wonder tho if it could be retooled for a 2002 Raimi Goblin down the line.

I really don't see how unless the retool is so extensive it basically qualifies as an all-new sculpt by the end of it. All they could salvage from it would be maybe the hands, feet and helmeted head cuz the NWH design has SO MUCH added armor, rags and tacked on bits as well as extensive battle damage added to the Raimi design underneath all the new stuff that by the time they get it back down to a clean version of the Raimi design, it'd be essentially an all new sculpt. The more I think about it, a new sculpt could well be the easier/cheaper route at that point. Even the glider got an overhaul in NWH so that'd need at least new top panels for the wings that like... clip on maybe?
I do think there's a good chance we get that figure at some point though. Maybe the clip on bits for the glider could come with a single carded, true Raimi Goblin. I can definitely see Hasbro circling back around to get a mulligan on stuff from the older Spidey flicks. Clearly there's a paying audience for it and after this new set of figures, we're only missing 2-3 characters tops from NWH so if they come in a wave, they'll have to fill it in with something.
Just got a notification all three spidermen and the GG are up for sale on Walmart. Doc Ock is sold out right now

Got to see the unmasked heads today at NYCC. The new body for Holland is the best yet to get the actor’s proportions right, and his face print improves an already excellent head sculpt even further. Garfield looks spot on too. But I didn’t get a good look at Tobey.
Reports are hitting of people finding this wave in stores. Maybe it was A report, I'm not sure, but Tobey's hands are different than advertised. He is coming with one of his extended hands and one less fist. I haven't seen photos of Garfield's figure to see if his hands have changed.
Has anyone found good pics of these yet? This one is from the Ebay auction from yesterday:
I wish. But it's funny because I was just checking on here before you posted that as I'm a wee bit antsy in the pantsy for the wave already.
This is my most wanted wave as we’re finally getting good Tobey and Andrew figures. Plus good Raimi film figures like ock and goblin. We really need a Dunst MJ to round out the Raimi films though, and although she wasn’t in the film, wish we got her instead of another Zendaya MJ.
