@ru1977 Really, Black Bolt and Reed are the main 2 ones I want. I got the old Prof X with the chair and slapped a Patrick Stewart head on him, and it looks good enough to me. I am also okay with Captain Carter from before. She looks good enough to pass. So I just would need the other 3. But a wave of Captain Carter, Black Bolt, Mr Fantastic, Maria Rambeau, Zombie Strange, and Charles or whatever would be absolutely welcome! Double points if I could get a BAF "Gargantos" lol
I may grab some extra Matt Murdock figs at some point if the figure goes down to like 15 bucks on Amazon or whatever. Just to have some extra suited guys on hand whenever I can get heads or whatever in future
@garrettlcustoms right? Why aren't people clamoring for Flash to be Hobgoblin in the movies? Spoiler for forty year old comics but he was also framed. Haley is a great choice! I assume The Rose would be Michael Gandolfini.
@enigmaticclarity I was thinking that too with the tentacles but will probably have a flight stand holding him up anyway with the arms 'clinging' to the wall
I'm seriously interested in the legal wrestling match the Hasbro team engaged in to bring us these figures. Willem Defoe's face isn't on the front of the box, but his likeness is on the figure. Garfield had to be from a previous film. Octavius is from a previous film, even though Molina seems to be approving other products for NWH and I liked his older look from NWH. But I'm also grateful for the efforts, Hasbro team - thanks!
They didn't mention Matt or Ock's glasses as being removable so I'm guessing they won't be, which is annoying. But at least they possibly fixed the suited body!!!! The shoes are still shit, though.
MJ's sweater overlay looks so odd. Wonder if that will be able to be slimmed down.
Wish Tom had a new unmasked expression. This will be the third time we're getting this one, and while it is good, I wish he was battle-damaged, or a black eye, or different hairstyle, or not as young looking - something. Hopefully we'll get a new expression when the inevitable civilian Peter/May pack comes out (they'll repaint the sweater and pants blue - you know it's true!). But the Final Swing suit looks great.
I like Sandman's foot that isn't just foot-shaped. He looks pretty good, though definitely like a chicken finger. Can't un-see it now.
Even if the arms don't work as advertised, I have cheap flight stands that likely will do the job
Does anyone else actually like The Sandman?
@the_nobody I'm okay with him. I'd prefer a larger one, and his crotch disturbs me. But I'll be happy to have him.
He isn't amazing, but he will do the job
MJ's sweater overlay looks so odd.
It's an extremely short, loose sweater with a massively wide neck. There's almost no way for it not to look at least slightly odd on a figure.
Gotta say, glad SOMEONE understands that Hobby isn't Ned. It's actually very annoying how many people, including NWH itself ("I promise I won't turn evil" scene and the concept art of him on the glider), think he was Hobgoblin. My boy Ned is innocent, gimme Roderick with someone like Jackie Earle Haley in the role. Also, it works even less than in the comics since MCU Ned is literally just Ganke.
Devil's advocate here: Technically, Ned was the canon identity of the original Hobgoblin for an entire decade. Peter David wasn't trying to trick us when he wrote the identity reveal, he actually wanted Ned Leeds to be the Hobgoblin. And that decision stuck for ten years.
Granted, the creator of the Hobgoblin, Roger Stern, had previously intended for it to be Roderick Kingsley and wasn't happy about Peter David's decision. So, he eventually wrote a miniseries retconning the identity to match his original vision.
But you're both right. Ned Leeds—especially MCU Ned Leeds—has no business becoming the Hobgoblin. I just wanted to share because it's an interesting story.

Thanks for that. I started buying Spidey right around issue 238 where Hobgoblin first popped up and read it throughout the 1980s, and as far as I knew he was Ned Leeds. Didn't realize there were ret-cons surrounding his identity.
@vwbeetle nah, you're right. I didn't realize it was THAT long. But yeah. I think I also read an interview with Sterns... ugh, I can barely remember this now. But there was a whole thing where he left marvel, I think, before he could resolve that plot. And the initial attempt to finish it by someone else was the opposite of what he intended, where Richard Fisk was the hobgoblin and Kinsley was the Rose. But they picked up the clues enough to get THAT close. Then yeah, Leeds was chosen. And was in Spider-Man or was it in a different series? I don't think I even read it when it was initially released, finding that later. And I guess closer to the Kinsley story, Hobgoblin Lives. As soon as I saw that series I pounced on it. Hobgoblin is seriously my favorite Spiderman villain. He's possibly the only villain that could get me to react like Mandarin fans did to Iron Man 3.
Sandman is kinda weird, but I don't think that's Hasbro's fault. The sculpt looks very accurate to the movie. Maybe better paint would've helped, but anyone who thought it would have painted detail needs to temper their expectations tbh.
The one thing I will criticize about it is the lack of articulation above the hips. I kinda feel like that's half of what's making him look naked... the other half being that he's actually naked.
@derrabbi I would love for someone to do a repaint and new head and make him FFH Hydro- Man. I don't have that type of skill, but I'd be all for someone else doing it
