I actually AM an MCU fan, but it wasn't the first thing to come to mind when I was speaking with Ryan. I did ask if there were any comic based waves coming in to supplement the pause in MCU content coming due to the strikes. He didn't have a straight forward answer on that one, but I think that's how it came up that they're already planning 2025 assortments.
Personally, I think I'm finally experiencing MCU burnout. I haven't even started Loki, and I'm usually one to watch as each episode airs. I think the D+ shows have mostly been great, but Secret Invasion was so anticlimactic and predictable, that I am do think I've got some MCU fatigue. With just The Marvels on the horizon for movies, I'm not particularly hyped. I think there are a lot of factors, like Boseman's death, post-pandemic world, D+ oversaturation, that I just don't think much about it and I don't get excited for it.
To be clear I definitely appreciate all the reporting you've done this weekend Norm! Thank you for that. I can understand the burnout. For me I've grown so committed to the MCU that it's like a Kid, sometimes you have to watch them do weird and annoying stuff but you're always gonna be their biggest fan and show up. Plus I think Phase 4 has been the MCU's first major fumble and that's not for lack of trying against a lot of unforseen outside events. So I'm willing to give them a well earned second chance to corse correct and get back on track. From what I read in the behind the scenes it seems they may be doing just that.
Also, regardless of how I feel about current day MCU this figure line has grown into something else entirely. Even if the MCU were no longer around I'd still collect figures that they go back and make.
I can see where you're coming from with the burn out though and hopefully that spark will come back soon!
I also wish we got some MCU based questions at these events. But it is what it is
@fletch I would think that Disney/Marvel has primary influence on what is initially made to represent each character. It seems they prioritize modern/current looks over the classic ones. The classic representations of characters that I want seem to come later in the line if at all.
So no new reveals at NYCC?
No. Dan posted on Friday that they wouldn't be revealing anything new at NYCC. "But don't worry, the year is not done and the month is not done."
60th Anniversary of Daredevil, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Mastermind, Unus the Untouchable, Sif, Skurge, Karnilla, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Norman Osborn, Beetle, Kraven, Kang, Attuma, Edwin Jarvis, Wonder Man
Let's go - let's celebrate these guys 60th birthday with another Bring in the Bad Guys wave, maybe also include Diablo and Mandarin with an M'Baku baf.... (please pretty please...)
Yeah I’ll be honest I don’t get why Wasp wasn’t announced. I love Dan and Dwight, and I know most of this is out of their hands so I dislike when people hate on them in here, but that move is confusing.
I've felt the same way. But after watching some NYCC interviews I've came to the conclusion that if they've shown the 6" Wasp before the campaign ended, it'll just cause people to complain about not including the figure into the project for $199.
And if they did, people will complain about a FA Wasp being locked behind a $200 paywall.
They can't please everybody.

Let me get this right, you watched the interviews where the team said "well some people would like them bundled, some would like to see them sold separately, it is personal preference perhaps" and your takeaway is that by not showing such figures, they avoid making people mad at the project.
And yet we don't actually have either of these at the moment, where it might actually make a meaningful difference to the success or failure of the Giant Man project. Do you see how it is absurd to take away that showing these figures might in some way ONLY serve to hurt the project? You really don't see how even a mere render of Wasp might actually inspire people to hop on before the last hour of the project?
For what it's worth, I'm down for them being sold separately, it means they're not baked into the offering at 24.99 and can be scooped up easily for 30 percent off.

Well, I can see why they aren't too worried about your support then

Except for the part where this is the decision they made themselves? I would have preferred 250 and tiers, but they've made the case that putting those figures as a general release is better for them in this case. And it also happens to be better for consumers too who wait.
Do you think before you post or did you just reflexively go "NO! This person is criticizing Hasbro! I must post whatever crap pops into my head NOW to defend this fortune 500 company's honor!"

Yup. That's my take on their reasoning on why they still haven't revealed Wasp.
@onetwelfthghoul exactly, they want it to fund on its own merit, as much as I like to know what's coming, I ultimately know they will do a tie in wave of some kind, so it isn't a big deal in the end

It sounds like it's not just your take on their reasoning, but that you also agree with it. People are confusing "people will get mad!!!" with "this will be a net loss for the project." People get mad about everything. I'm waiting to hear a logical retort as to why teasing an image of a general release Wasp will cause this project to lose net backers.

If a tie in is coming, why reveal it later when the project has potentially failed than now, when it might possibly save it?
