Was able to order after 5 without any issues.
The reveals were fine. I think I called half of them. People can skip them if they have gripes with them... its just nice to see there are pinless options for Cap and Iron Man bodies now. The heads on Cap are... interesting choices. As is the broken shield as an only option. I'll probably swap the heads from one of my 20th ML Cap if the blues match.
Happy to have the symbiote suit on the AF15 body. That's awesome.
It looks like the blues will be a bit different. From reddit:
Crud
My sentiments exactly. And let's not forget the Capcom wave (if it's true) was supposed to have another Cap I believe. What'll they do, have a "Charging Star" shield with movements effects like Thor's spinning hammer to avoid just giving us a normal shield?
The next Captain America will just come with an in-scale complete series DVD of the hit Michael Chiklis drama, The Shield.

That would be fucking hilarious.
They always seem to change the shades of blue in the same way they change the shades of green on the Hulk/She-Hulk figures. I swear they do it intentionally so we can't piece together our ideal versions.

People don't like standards, and for the most part only adhere to them when forced to by external forces. Pretty sure the lack of standards in colors, peg sizes, etc is just them doing whatever they want and not worrying about what came before or how well all the puzzle pieces fit together.
In all of my experience that's pretty much the norm for 90% or more of people in science and engineering professions that aren't tied to safety like cars, planes, etc where standards are absolutely necessary. If nobody's going to get hurt if you don't get Cap's color shades right then nobody pays attention to it. I haven't seen that any toy company does it across any of the toy lines available today.
Curating a large line of products to the extent of consistency we'd all love them to have costs time and therefore money, so I get why Hasbro doesn't do it with Marvel Legends. I understand it a bit less with the higher-end lines like SH Figuarts and Mafex, but hey, it is what it is.
You're probably right, but on the other hand, I gotta believe there's an easily accessible computer file that lists all the parts used and the various shades of paint applied to each figure. They'd have to send something like for the factory, I'd imagine.
I would not be surprised if it's done on purpose. There has to be a reason for us to buy the next figure coming down the line ...
It's absolutely done on purpose. The colors are selected digitally now, so they would have a file of the colors.
We just can't say whether that's because Hasbro wants to make figures accurate to more eras or to sell more figures.
When it comes to Cap's shield, I actually have a different take. I'm actually thankful for the Legends team trying to give us something different. I likely have somewhere between 40-50 different "regular" cap shields sitting in my bin unused from the past 20+ years so I'm thankful for something a little different. From the sounds of it maybe I should try listing a few on these on ebay if people really don't have any "regular" versions. That almost sounds crazy to me....
They going to put comic Chameleon in a stupid looking costume on a retro card instead of the Animated one...Given the haircut, the tease has to be a JJJ mask for the rumored Retro Chameleon to hold.
Psh, I hope so 😋
Considering that animated series Chameleon didn’t use masks, I’d say odds are pretty good that this is a comic version.
Definitely hoping for him in his smoking jacket and with no blue wash on the face.
There's no "standard" for what color every Captain America figure should be that they should be following. They're basing it on source art, so Alex Ross Cap is dark blue, 20th anniversary Cap was trying to be close to ML series 1, and Secret Wars Cap is based on Secret Wars. Same with Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man, and any other character. They *could* make every single version the exact shade, but everyone has their own idea of what the right color is, and we'd be locked into a single hue for characters that get made over and over. I prefer the variety in looks over uniformity.
One thing they can do better is make sure a full complement of hands is included with these repeat characters so we don't have to worry about matching hands just so Cap # whatever has fists. Heads are more difficult, but I can't be mad that they included two brand-new looks here instead of reusing an old one.

Naw. They’ll give us this:
