Yeah this Void figure is very comic accurate. I’m shocked and pleasantly surprised that Hasbro gave Void all of those extra fiery demonic arms that he had in Siege. Looks like a really epic figure!@e-rock right, at the end during Siege when Bob lost total control and all hell broke loose. Probably my favorite look for the Void.
@slixta I think the branding has less to do with intent to do more figures out of the old movies as it does likely some kind of legal weirdness for likenesses and such. I think a Black Suit Spidey may be likely, cause that's an easy repaint and use of that Tobey mold. Beyond that, not holding my breath.
I hope May gets made. But not sure when she will have that opportunity. Maybe whenever we get some kind of Multiverse Saga line like the IS line they did, maybe they do like a May/Happy 2 pack or something. Shocker I absolutely want, but I kind of feel like we ain't getting him unless he reappears in a future Tom Holland movie.
I would have preferred the more “dark Sentry” look for The Void, but I can’t knock the execution.
I believe I misread the coverage yesterday, Red Widow is definitely being made correct? The poll was to choose which of the three clues would be revealed, but all three are going to be made? The way it was written when I read it yesterday made me think she was one of three figure choices that would be voted on to be made later like the Silk poll a few years ago.
The guys had all three of the 'clued' figures at the ready. The vote was to determine which would be revealed yesterday. So, those other two will be revealed down the road. They didn't say HOW she was going to be released though (Exclusive or in a wave).I would have preferred the more “dark Sentry” look for The Void, but I can’t knock the execution.

It would be great to see more Raimi figures but outside of whom appeared in NWH I think the only real possibilities would be black suit Spidey, Mary Jane and Venom. They could also reissue J Jonah with some hair and give us a full civilian Tobey. I think those are all probably more likely than any other new figures from the MCU spidey films. (Outside of lizard and electro ofcourse)
I don’t think we’ll get anything further from the amazing Spider-Man films.
I don't know how they're putting out so many boring comic waves lately.
They haven't even begun to tap into the Shiar, the Imperial Royal Guard, or the Nasty Boys. Plus there's still plenty of teams to wrap up. The Brotherhood and X-Factor immediately coming to mind.
The fact that we get like, 1.5 X-Men waves per year does not help.
Not even a mention of any of the rumored Wolverine anniversary stuff?
Even if the coming comic-based X-Men characters might be minimal, I would rather have a PROPERLY done character or two than another minimal effort figure of a character most people want like Avalanche or 90s Kitty Pryde. "Good enough" isn't cutting it, and I think the Animated X-Men, 97 or otherwise, are going to linger far longer than most people suspect.
What part of the '97 wave isn't "good enough"? What is new sculpt looks fantastic and what is old sculpt looks to be much improved - this Storm should be able to stand under her own weight for the first time with the new legs. Bishop doesn't have the nostalgia haircut but he looks great.
I'm curious to see in-person if their headsculpts are as translucent as what we've seen. That to me is the biggest potential issue - translucent skin is a weird way to choose to represent animated characters who appear solid in the source material.
Either way, I don't think they're going to sit around much at all. And on that note, GameStop notified me that my order is dropping soon and the release date is now 10/4.
Storm's ability to stand up this time will draw people into rebuying her all over again, when we've had Retro Storm, Black Suit Retro Storm, Rerelease Retro Storm for Target, First Appearance Storm and Animated Series Box Art Storm in the span of what, possibly 2-3 years?
Retro Gambit still lingers on Target's website from roughly 2 years ago. Rogue's no longer there, but even she was slow to sell out. Plus the Animated Storm and Jean from the 90s hardly moved and had to be heavily discounted. Most of these characters have been heavy on the rerelease cycle for 3 years now. I think Wolverine will sell decent, and Magneto should suit most that don't have one already. But Rogue's face does not look great. Gambit may look like the 97 art model, but most people who want a Gambit have had (and still do) ample opportunity to get one. The Marvel Legends team seems to be taking more pages out of the Star Wars team's playbook in thinking people want endless rereleases and repaints at an inflated price. Sure I'll buy a figure if I really want the new head they come with, but only once discounted. How many buyers will even do that in this economy?
We'll see how nostalgiac people are for Bishop in a non-90s look. I personally think his bandana is oversized for the body and the figure would've been more popular if they included a 90s head AND the one they're giving you.
There's anther wave of X-Men '97 in the pipeline. I'm guessing they held off showing it because the show was supposed to be on D+ this year, but got bumped after Iger's return. That may be where we get Lilandra, who absolutely is the "previously only a head" character (although I wouldn't discount the 2-pack rumor, either). They seem to be making a run at Starjammers / Phoenix storyline.
Since a lot ML waves have characters that foreshadow appearences in other media, thy may have held back showing other comic waves too. Reminder that Marvel/Disney have a say in character choices, based on their plans - which (lately, anyway) keep getting tossed or delayed.
Hasbro doesn't hate Wasp per se, but she doesn't sell - and there's quite a bit of history / data proving it. Unrelated, but even TB cancelled a bunch of planned variants when she first appeared in ML form.
Hasbro team is very aware of putting out less desirable costumes first as a marketing decision, but with D-list New Warriors characters destined to pegwarm anyway, it's a mistake. Hope we get the classic Namorita Dwight mumbled about soon b/c they've trained me (and others, I'm sure) to wait.
If you don't want endless repaints of classic characters, you should be buying loads of the new figures they release (y'know, the ones that go on clearance because few people know who they are - looking at you, latest retro-carded Spidey wave). Otherwise, accept that Hasbro is a business and they need to make money to afford the license and pay their people.
ML has a had a tough year, a ton of product, lots of clearance. The movie Spideys are the only sell-outs I can recall from Pulse in a long, long time. Their major partners are not in synch. I'm sure they are looking at tweaking the program, and that will most likely mean more proven sellers, like classic or near classic Wolverine & Spider-man variants.
GI Joe team won PulseCon by a hundred miles. Can we get Emily in charge of ML or even better, Hasbro please?
Are we really sure it's Lilandra? Couldn't it be Selene or Wolfsbane too?
The hint of the character that was originally a con exclusive figure, previously, I'm guessing will be Ka Zar.
Ka-Zar isn't a bad guess - he needs an update. Personally though I am hoping it is Blastaar. I never got the con exclusive release - but the costume they used for that sucked anyway. He needs to be released to look like the 4" Universe version they put out. I want a classic Blastaar SO bad.
Another shot at comic Hela would not be unwelcome either. And frankly if they swerved and released a classic Moonstone figure, that would be cool too.

I cut up that Blastaar and was working on a classic custom which I never finished. I should have just kept the figure intact and sold it.

Maybe they should make those c and d listers with a little more effort or quality. The Rose and Tarantula figures were HUGE wants of mine as Spider-Man villains, and they suck as figures, as for the value for whats included, and accuracy. I refuse to pay full price for either precisely because they are terrible.
I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to re-release at least one of those in the next 2 years as they do the double dip again for making up for such a crap release (like they did with Tigra and Silver C Iron Man)
Like JT marsh said, "Good enough" isn't cutting it" especially for these C and D listers. Egg head, karnak, Super Adaptoid, Baron Strucker, Molecule Man, Avalanch... So many figures that most people don't really want or need, don't make them so bad. I mean not everything has to be as good as Spiral, but can these things be made acceptable so that the hardcores won't be upset at looking at them when they buy them?
With prices going up Hasbro needs to up their quality on these figures so people think they are worth the money and space to display them.
They might also wan't to lay off re-releasing peg warmers less than 2 years later with almost no changes, like the Retro Loki and retro Falcon. What the hell was that about?
