Give me this Johnny, damnit.
I bought the 3.75" version that Hasbro did of this a couple of years ago when I found it on clearance at Target. It would be wonderful to get a Legends version.
Yup, this. When it comes to Ghost Rider, everything else is secondary to a superclassic Johnny Blaze. I’m all for the 90s stuff and also for expanding the 70s stuff (give me Witch Woman, you cowards) as well as horror in general, but I NEED this specific version of Johnny.
Ketch with motorcycle is my big want and if I get that I would be happy.
If we were able to get more I would want..
Vengeance w/ motorcycle
Lilith
Blackout
Trenchcoat/hellfire shotgun Johnny Blaze
Haslab Robbie Reyes
Deathwatch
Nightmare
BAF: 90s Zarathos or Blackheart
And if we could get a Nightstalkers 3 pack to build out the Midnight Sons that would be great too - with Hannibal in a suit, Frank Drake in the pirate shirt/vest and Blade in the leather jacket/red t-shirt
If they want to do a red motorcycle Blaze on the Vulcan body I would be very down for that too.
Do you guys think that we'll get more Ghost Rider related figures, at SDCC?
@basil-elks so sure hope so. Vengeance, Zarathos, and Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider are my top picks!
@basil-elks I'd be surprised. I have a feeling, as Big H intimated in the other thread, that the figures we're seeing now were intended to tie in to the release of the Hellcharger, and development was far enough along that it made sense to get them out there. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more GR stuff if all the currently solicited stuff sells well, but I don't think they'll have those numbers in time to show more stuff at SDCC.
But I'd love to be wrong.
Wellll.... Dan Ketch Ghost Rider, Blackheart and Lilith, along with Hellstrom are Great starts! But like everyone else is saying on here, we need first and foremost, Blackout, Deathwatch, and Scarecrow! (They can pack him with his pitchfork and 3 or 4 of the Thor/Odin crows!) Beyond that, we should get "Retro" (animated/90's style) Blade, Nightmare, Madcap, Centurious, Zarathos, Caretaker, Heck, I would buy Zodiak, Hag and Troll, and Snowblind! But Vengeance and 90's Blaze (with a soft goods coat) on their bikes as "deluxes" would be great! And of course, Mephisto! Maybe a "demonic" Jason Macandale Hobgoblin with a better cape and the "flaming" glider! A true 70s Johnny on the red flaming bike with the jumpsuit on a new sculpt would be great too! And throw in Devil-Slayer, Strange, Hannibal King and Frank Drake! I can dare to dream lol...
Quoting some of the Ghost Rider-specific stuff from the Strange Tales wave here to discuss. Not so much to avoid going off-topic, but to inspire a critical mass of Spirit of Vengeance discussion since it's finally getting some love.
Vengeance and Zarathos are big wants for me. Love those character designs.
@h-bird Not to re-open an old wound, but they need to just re-try the Hellcharger crowdfund with a more appropriate price point and features. That's the only way I can ever accept a Robbie, because I'm just at that point where I don't want or need characters on my shelf missing key accessories - and the biggest one in that regard (maybe literally) is Riders without their Rides.
And yeah, I forgot to talk about her but Lillith too! Really cool to see GR and GR-adjacent stuff.
I really hope Danny w/ Bike does well enough to convince Hasbro that it's worth investing the tooling in Vengeance with his bike. De-powered Johnny with his bike is probably a way easier sell because they could just use the existing GR/Logan/Cap bike. The hard part would probably be engineering a trenchcoat figure for a motorcycle without using any soft goods.
But Vengeance and de-powered Johnny are very close to the top of my most-wanted Marvel list at this point.
If Classified can handle making a Vamp and Stinger at a reasonable price, they can certainly do Robbie Reyes' Charger, no excuses.
There's just such a high cool factor for Ghost Rider in general, including Vengeance, Zarathos, Blaze etc - I also hope they do well enough to move. I don't preorder a lot these days, but Ketch was absolutely a day one preorder - great looking figure at a decent price, and I want to see more of it.
McF has dipped their toe into wired soft goods - I'd love to see Hasbro debut a wired coat for Johnny Blaze with his motorcycle. Would solve that issue and make for a really dynamic, fun figure.
I'd love if they revisited the Hellcharger some day but it feels really unlikely, unfortunately. I picked up the Ramen Racer (which I received but haven't had a chance to open - still settling in a new house and everything is a mess!). So I'm good on the ride, but I'd still 100% go in on an official version if they made it. All other things being equal, I feel like the price would be different if they launched it now instead of when they did - seems to me like they were factoring in a lot of volatility, including an overestimation of how much collectors were willing to eat during a period of high demand. The VAMP is a decent but imperfect comparison - setting aside licensing fees, electronics, etc the one big advantage the VAMP has is they can factor in years of reuse - I bet that frame gets used on at least half a dozen releases in the next few years. The Charger is likely to only be a one and done.

Same here at a Walmart (Canada).
It has been on my desk pretty much since. It is one of the few toys/figures I have out constantly to fiddle with and my youngest loves playing with it for some reason as well.
Also it is really well built because my youngest has thrown it from multiple places, including upstairs and while it has broken apart, it has not "broken" so I can always put it back together.
I have the first Hasbro, not Toybiz, Legendary Rider Ghost Rider and while it is great I would love this version done in Legends.
As to what I would like to see, most of what I would want has already been mentioned. However as a short list I would love (next):
Vengeance
Scarecrow
Blackout
Caretaker
Johnny Blaze w/hellfire shotgun and trench coat.
So yeah pretty much what others have already said.
Given we’ve had a very high quality quadruped as a baf in Zabu, I’d really like to see a GR Legends Wave with a flaming horse baf to go with a Carter Slade figure. Then once the bulk of the horse has been tooled we could get reissues with various augmented features such as add the wings from the new Angel to make a winged horse for a Classic Valkyrie, and a few riders type deluxe packs such as a new Black Knight, etc…
As for other characters, I’m not sure I know too many GR characters but it can’t be hard to assemble some gnarly weird monster types to fill out the wave. The ones I’d really want to see most would be a new Vengeance
Toybiz’s 5” Ghost Rider line gave us Blaze, Zarathos, Skinner, Outcast, Blackout, Scarecrow, Caretaker.. none of which we’ve seen in Legends, yet. Be nice if they paid a little homage and updated these.
How do we feel about the possibility of a build-a-bike? 🧐
@detectivehoag Agreed!! Blackout and Scarecrow are Musts at minimum, and Skinner, Outcast and Zarathos would be just dandy! But Deathwatch, Madcap and Nightmare along with Mephisto are also musts! By the way, does ANYBODY have a clue as to why the Dan Ketch GR-bike has hollow and empty headlights??
As much as I'd love a Ghost Rider retro wave, you're talking about a company that hasn't even ever given us a comic based Thor wave and hasn't given us a comic based Hulk wave since the Fin Fang Foom BAF.
The last Ghost Rider wave coincided with the first Nicolas Cage movie and was mostly movie figures (several versions of GR, human Blackheart, Caretaker) but also had Scarecrow and Vengeance in it. I've still got that Scarecrow and Caretaker in my display to this day.
The only reason that Ghost Rider stood a chance where Thor didn't was as a Retro Card throwback to the 5" figure series. Ghost Rider did have it's own 5" line of figures at Toy Biz and so just like we've seen X-Men, Marvel Super Heroes, Fantastic Four and Iron Man retro figures using the old Toy Biz card backs - there was thought we'd get a similar wave for Ghost Rider. In fact, I think it was pretty much a guarantee since they did release ONE retro Ghost Rider figure on a throw back Toy Biz type card
So, it seems like a safe bet that had the Engine of Vengeance HasLab funded, we would have seen a handful, or even an entire wave, of retro Ghost Rider figures released.
Generation X, Hulk and Silver Surfer are other properties that had 5" Toy Biz Lines that could conceivably get the retro treatment (although I wouldn't hold my breath)
