The first thing that popped into my head:

the long overdue Dreadnoughts

I highly doubt this line will get to $150 much, particularly Dragon Man.  My money is still on $100, but they're throwing in so many extras--multiple heads, max articulation, multiple sets of wings, multiple hands--maybe it will be more like $110 or $120.  As they approach $200 then it becomes indistinguishable from Haslab, so they almost certainly want the base to be around $100 and no more than $125 unless it's a character, vehicle, or diorama whose size is a real tweener between this scale and Haslab scale.

So here's the thing about the Super Adaptoid, that I don't think should panic us.    It was overproduced just like every other release in that Avengers 50th Anniversary line.    Hasbro was using peak pandemic (quarantine -stimulus check inspired) sales numbers to run those figures and way overshot production on everything.    So all of it tanked - not just Adaptoid -  but the 2 packs and everything else as well.     But also, with Adaptoid,  it was pretty low effort at a relatively high asking price.    They reused a year's old 12" base figure to loosely adapt the figure and then didn't include multiple pieces that could have... maybe even should have... been built in.

That doesn't mean people wouldn't pony up the money for approprately rendered large scale figures.   A proper 12 inch Atlas, Barton Goliath,  Josten Goliath,  Black Goliath, Living Pharaoh or other giant type character at that same price point could probably sell.     But it would need to be properly executed and not half-assed.

Still,  the idea that they will do something like this for Dragon Man does open the door for other esoteric oversized characters that are difficult to build in as BAF's.     Devil Dinosaur would be a fun one they could do in this format maybe.     Shogo Lee in his dragon form for the modern X-Men fans?   There is some good stuff that could be done and I hope Dragon Man does really well so Hasbro is encouraged to do more.

I think Dragon Man will be around $100.

While there are possibilities for this pricepoint, I don't see them going hog wild with it.  Maybe one a year.  Characters like Atlas and Goliath seem possible.  Cameron Hodge was name dropped a while back.

I know people want Armor, but I don't see how she'd "easily" be a BAF.  They have to engineer the armor to articulate and have a figure floating inside.  If she's just resting in the torso and isn't posable is one thing.  But if her limbs are going anywhere near the armor limbs, it becomes a bit of an engineering feat.  I certainly don't think she's an easy BAF and certainly not a $35 figure.   Is she Dragon Man size/cost?  No, but I don't think they're going to be locked into a specific price with made-to-order figures.  DM could be $100.  Maybe the next one is $75 or $125.  I think they'll have leeway to flex pricing based on character requirements.

This could be a good way to get a smaller Sentinel (like 12")

If this format could get me Shuma-Gorath, Devil Dinosaur, Surtur and a pre-GotG Groot, I’d be crazy stoked.

This scale would also be absolutely PERFECT for a Marvel vs. Capcom Sentinel.  That character has so many little add-ons that he wouldn't even have to be all that big, but implementing his extending arms or legs, the little Sentinel armies he sent, rocket blasts, etc could easily eat a super-deluxe budget.

This would be my absolutely biggest want. A fully tricked-out MvC Sentinel would be a dream come true.  😍

MODAM, and Ms. MODOK could fit this, maybe.

I'm personally hoping for some 12-16" giants like Atlas, Erik Josten Goliath, Bill Foster Goliath, Clint Barton Goliath...basically all the Goliaths.

Giant Man was $199.99. 2 ft. tall with the "glass eyes" and 91 points of articulation. I fully expect Dragon Man to be $99.99 as he's less than half that height (10.5") so they can say it's under $100.

I want all the Size changing Men and women and Mangog most of all.

I think PC is bang on with Super-Adaptoid. He was part of the - let's call it "price ceiling exploration" to be generous - during covid, and hit that unsweet spot of not new or impressive enough and a silly high price. A properly done, fully decked out Super-Adaptoid could have *easily* been worth $70; the one they made didn't fit that bill.

$100 feels right for Dragon Man. Lots of good ideas for things to fit this format. So many standard size-changers that should be done, and hopefully on the lower end of this deluxe pricing since they can reuse bodies.

Goliath (Pym blue & yellow)
Goliath (Clint Barton)
Goliath (Erik Josten/MoE)
Goliath (Bill Foster)
Atlas
Giant-Man (Raz Malhotra)

My top wants of non-human characters are probably:

Awesome Android
Surtur
Mangog

$150 for Dragon Man is insane. You'd have to be a really greedy asshole to ask that price for a Hasbro figure (which of course is possible...)

You just got Giant-Man for $200. Marvel Legends The Infinity Saga Surtur is $55. All new sculpt. Dragon Man should be $99.99\109.99 max. Like...it's not some deluxe Mezco figure with lights.

Now give me an Animated Man-Spider. Big Apocalypse (Toy Biz style), MvC Sentinel, Shuma-Gorath, etc.

While I am absolutely ecstatic they are finally fabricating an amazing-looking, properly-scaled, purplelicious Dragon Man, I'm not expecting to spend over $80.00 max for him.  That is still over 3× the price of a standard figure despite it not being 3× the size, or complexity.

Sure there's a lot of plastic involved, but Juggernaut/Colossus, Wolvie/Hulk, and Thor/Destroyer all included a considerable amount of plastic heft too, and they were $60.00.  Odin is 8.2 inches tall and has a ridonkulous amount of sculpt/paint detail, overlays, and accessories at the $60.00 price point.  DM is 2 inches taller, has standard articulation, and comes with the standard 2nd set of hands and, ...a book?  Okay, so he has a 2nd set of wings; but why not just put a point of articulation in one set and be done with it?  As it stands, one set will immediately be thrown in our ever-growing parts bins.

That Super Adaptoid was an overpriced insult of an offering and is not an apt comparison IMO. Personally, I have repeatedly refused purchasing it despite it being clearance-priced numerous times.

Lastly, y'all do understand the Hasbro boys monitor this forum right?  Going on about how $100.00 or more seems fair isn't doing anyone any favors other than the greedy Hasbro shareholders/CEO/execs.

I wonder if this format might be our shot for a Supreme Intelligence as well?

@thor-el that was the first one that came to mind when Dragon Man was announced. I sure hope so.
