In today's PulseCon stream Ryan Ting said that Dragon Man's wings "are similar to the Venom and Knull 2-pack" where "those big wings that have a post and a hinge, you can articulate them in two different ways."

Can anyone tell for sure what the heck he's talking about?  Venom's wings in that 2-pack had a peg with a hinge that went into the back, plus each wing was sculpted as two segments that pegged together and you could rotate them at the mid-point of each wing to fold them up more.  The prototype in the stream and the promo images on Pulse very clearly do NOT have wings built in two segments where you can rotate them.  So what exactly does he mean by a "post"?  Is that another word for the peg with the hinge that goes into Dragon Man's back, or is he saying the final version will have segmented wings and the peg where the two parts of each wing connect together is the "post"?  Or does he mean the two ways to articulate are just the two pegs with hinges, one per wing times two?

The lack of clarity on this is pissing me off because I really don't like these single-piece wings the prototype has.  It sounded at first like Ryan was clarifying that the final wings will have more articulation than the prototype, but now I'm thinking he mis-spoke in comparing them to Venom's wings since the prototype clearly doesn't have multiple segments per wing nor do the promo shots on Pulse show that.  🤔

I think the articulation is limited to the ball joint where wings meet body - all talk was of swappable wings because they couldn’t get segmented wings to work properly.

I’m hopeful that with NY immediately following the sales window for this, they’ll have seen strong enough sales to at least confirm another fig is coming, even if it’s not revealed.

I also hope Dwight’s Mangog demands are heard!

What's visible in the promo shot below is a peg with a hinge on the extra folded-up wings.  You can't really tell on the other set of wings, but some of the pics have what look like a hinge on those too so I think they both have the same peg with hinge.

This image is from Hasbro Pulse, but they don't use image addresses with a file extension so I don't know of a way to embed them in this forum due to its limitations.  The only way to view the image above is click it and see it in a separate window.

CD doesn't look that much bigger than IM in that image. If they were standing up straight, they'd be close in height. There's an obvious difference with Titanium Man. MS TM definitely could pass with ML, but MS CD ain't gonna work in my book.

You can't embed Reddit images in this forum that I've been able to tell for about a year now.

Reddit used to let you link directly to images, but about a year ago they changed their site so that when you link to any image it shows it embedded in a custom page from Reddit that shows images, and that prevents you from embedding images in other sites like this one.

However, what you can do with Reddit is embed a link to the post an image is in, and this forum has a preview feature that will show most Reddit posts.  Usually that preview of the Reddit post will show images in the post embedded here.

Here's an example of embedding a link to a post instead of directly to an image inside of a post:

Thanks...  harder and harder to find easily linkable images these days.   Anyway there are plenty of references of Crimson Dynamo in that armor being significantly bigger than Iron Man.    I'm also aware there are references where  he is only slightly bigger.    So it's fine to want a smaller one.   Just that the Select version is actually perfectly comic accurate to plenty of actual comic sources with Legends Iron Man.

That was my interpretation as well - they couldn't get the wings to fold, so did the two versions, but there should be range of motion to pose the wings from the joint.

Separately, I think they clearly were implying that the second figure in this "line" would be revealed at NYCC.

And the image if DM next to Reed - that's about the height and body bulk I'd like to see for a Watcher if they decide to make him.

Yeah that stood out to me too.  Unless they're revealing Fantastic Four stuff at NYCC, I think they will have another oversized figure to show off.  Maybe just a render or maybe more.  Hopefully pre-orders don't open until March though.  No idea who they will pick.

Yeah this was interesting - they made a point to highlight that the order period for Dragon Man ends right before NYCC, and then did a bit of like "Huh, isn't that interesting? Hmmm..." If they hadn't already closed the door on a Haslab this year, I'd think it was that. I seriously would not be upset if there's another Dragon Man-style offering right around the corner.

So,  something I was posting about in a different thread got me thinking... is there any chance that Hasbro could use this model to offer a stripped down and different version of the Engine of Vengeance vehicle at a much more reasonable direct to consumer price.

Hear me out.   They could release a vehicle that looks similar to what they had designed for the HasLab,  but without the moving gear shift, the lights and sounds all of the electronic bells and whistles -  let it have rotating plastic wheels and snap on fire effects (but please keep the wall mountable feature, I love that) but make it cheaper.    Sell it similar to how you are selling the G.I. Joe Jeep -  $100 for the car... $125 if you toss in Robbie, maybe.     Sell it direct to consumer in this format to gauge interest and not overproduce.   They recoup some of the design investment they put in on EoV -  but sell us a thing that's more practical for a wider group.

They can get around the - "you'll never get this if you don't pledge for the HasLab"  threat/promise by admitting it is a different offering entirely and not the same thing -  and they've already softened that threat by releasing a version of Goblin Queen and a version of Daimon Hellstrom anyway.     I think it's doable,  and is something they should think about.

I think it's totally doable and will happen eventually, but not for a year or two. They'll establish a few oversize characters first, then a "hey, this works so well and since we listen to the fans, let's try the EOV" in like 2026 or 2027.

I'm just hoping they expand the oversize figure concept to an oversize team concept for the Serpent Society and the Imperial Guard.

I would love expanded team sets! But even if they don't do that, this oversize made-to-order model might be a good way to get Anaconda and Bushmaster.

I hope this happens, as a stripped-down version is all 90% of the buyers probably need anyway.

I am not a huge GR fan, but a shelf with both the Blaze and the Ketch motorcycle versions and the Hellcharger would be great to have.

(Anyone else suspicious that the Blackheart BAF wave and the Ketch 85th would have actually been released a year ago to coincide with the HasLab shipping?)
