Howzabout an comic accurate Mandroid?

/revision/latest?cb=20200615073248

My preference is the 80s look of the gold armour with the visor slit helmet (similar to what was seen in the Lightyear movie).

But yeah give us a new and improved Mandroid.   And how about Firepower while we're at it so Iron Man can battle a true beast of a figure.

I can't believe that I didn't think of him earlier, but another member to complete one of my favorite teams, Box from Alpha Flight!

Is this a swimming character? Those boots would create SO much drag.

I presume you’re referring to the lady, but I’ll answer for both.  Yes they’re both Atlanteans.

(top) Merrano also called U-Man back in the 1940’s is an antagonist that first sided with the axis powers during WWII.  He’s still active today.

(bottom) Andromeda, is the illegitimate daughter of Attuma.  She was a member of the Defenders, and used a serum that enabled her to operate on land for periods of time.

This has reminded me that we really need an Andromeda figure in this line.  She is the only Bride of Set that we do not have a figure of.  (Still need Jean in the red/yellow X-Factor costume to be 100% accurate to that and Storm's costume was a weird hybrid of the Outback and Giant-Size costume).  Bring on Andromeda!

Yeah I do worry that if Dragon Man does as well as I imagine he will, that they'll take the concept further and we will start to see items that would have been deluxe retail become crowdfund.   Which would also mean a higher price point than retail.

But this is the exact opposite way it should work - the price point should be below retail because there is no retailer taking a cut!

It's also a much, much smaller potential customer base and number of units produced/sold.

Not to crap in anybodies cornflakes but I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed. I'm just thinking of marvel lines scale wise from minimates through to legends. When they try to do large figures, they do Galactus a sentinel and maybe giant man and interest is then lost. Now I understand this is aiming for that middle ground scale wise, but 20 years of build a figures have pretty much hit all the low hanging fruit. With the price of figures now there is going to be a really tiny market, if they go too high price wise with these.

Dragon Man going up next week?

Between this, Death’s Head, and the Crystal/Lockjaw set, it’s been a heavy month for Fantastic Four fans.

Maybe it launches at PulseCon. There are a ton of things they can do with this execution - Galactus and Sentinels are their own size class.  Dragon-Man, or any Hulk character almost, various X-Men or Spider-man characters could be larger deluxe offerings.  I'm hoping around $100.

PulseCon starts nexts Friday (the 13th - ohh, scary). I imagine they’ll open the Dragon Man window to coincide with the convention.

Holocaust, Post, and Cameron Hodge would be great!

But I'd love to see Hasbro do a set. 8 Imperial Guard Figures for $200.

Yes, please. Or a Serpent Society set.

An interview from SDCC was just posted with two team members--Dan and Dan.  One thing Dan the sculpt manager said at the 7:10 mark in the video below that I don't think we had heard before was that the jaw is articulated, but also the tongue is separately articulated from the jaw and the tail is bendy-wire.  Nice.

Looking at DM stood next to Reed, I’m certain there’s no good mechanical reason that the open wings aren’t articulated the same way the recent Angel was other than the same bullshit we're seeing with Lockjaw’s legs. I had some concerns about laziness and the reduction of POA when Mojo was delivered with that pathetic tail, his design obviously warranted some less dynamic posing options but you get a lot out of the joints in his legs for conveying mood and personality in how they are displayed, (as long as he has teeth in his gob) and since the figure I think will really benefit from being a bigger release would be Cameron Hodge, I don’t want to see him with near-static parts like a similar tail.

We’re enjoying a return of bendy wires again after that horrific Lizard baf was ruined by his ugly jointed tail section, as well as soft goods capes, and a range of articulation solutions should be preserved and increased where there’s scope for it rather than lost in favour of swappable pre-posed parts which is more the province of high end statues and maquettes
