Not much interest in the Crossgen and Ultraverse stuff, but I might get a Doombringer to go with Power Man and the inevitable new classic Iron Fist.

From yesterday I'd get Poison for sure, since basically every Silver/Bronze/Copper Age Spidey character is a yes.

IMHO Negation was the singular high-water mark for Crossgen, with The First being the only other book that somewhat held my interest. Negation was better than the majority of popular Marvel/D.C./Image titles at the time.

I loved The First. But I also admit I’m biased and enjoy god/cosmic-based comics the most. And Bart Sears and Andy smith’s art sure helped as well.

Hey @detectivehoag - thanks once again for keeping this thread alive! How about I start back up on Sunday December 3rd? And not to sway your choices or anything, but I rarely post anything directly related to the ratzies, their insignia, other similar hate groups or those 'monger'ing in 'hate'...

@beamish Sounds like a plan.  I’ll plan on your return on the third.   Welcome back.

@thor-el Same here. Gods and Bart-art were a winning combo for me and inspiration enough to collect 20-25 issues. We also agree on Annihilation, Andrea Di Vito and Paul Pelletier (loved his Negation work, obviously) art. I also like Tom Grummett whose art (good at team books with many characters) felt similar to Pelletier. At least it did in Marvel’s T-Bolts and DC’s Power Company.

All of those artists are criminally underrated.

We agree, completely. Di Vito might be the most underrated of the bunch IMO. His super clean pencils combined with a rare knack for ‘Drawing the Marvel Way’ with pitch perfect scales and heroes that look exactly as artists were trained to draw them back when that was a thing during the Bronze Age, all make for a complete joy to visually consume.

Well said gentlemen, though I'd mark Grummett (a true master and someone whose work I've long been a fan of) as the most underrated.

Regarding today's choices, I'd be in for any and all members of the groups mentioned. I always loved the Forever Yesterday designs for the Avengers, especially Horus. SO much better than his standard classic 616 look.
