100% YES to Aragorn and other horses needed in the Marvel Universe. Rawhide Kid hint hint....
Pass on Sun-Spider, Moon-Spider, Star-Spider, or any other celestial named spider guy.
Def on Sun-Spider, maybe on Aragorn if it came with a new Valkyrie.
I'd get them both.
I would be down for some alternate looks for the New Warriors, but I would prefer they finish the actual team first before getting into alternate costumes.
Sun-Spider is not a character I care enough about to want a figure.
Aragorn would be great. Not only because of a flying horse who can go with multiple characters, but it would mean a horse mold exists that could be used elsewhere.
Sun-Spider is a new one for me. A figure would get me to read up on him, and his design is unique enough I'd pick him up.
Aragorn is a huge yes. Classic Valkyrie is right behind Falcon and Doc Samson on my most wanted redos list, and a deluxe set with Aragorn would be the way to go.
New Warriors alts:
- Justice - classic NW Marvel Boy look, plus his early Avengers look with the gold accents
- Firestar - 90s leather jacket look (Maximum Carnage-style) plus her Avengers costume (not the one with the plunging neckline, but the improved redesign).
- Rage - I'd take the football player look.
- Night Thrasher - Those last few images are actually of Dwayne's brother Donyell. I'd take a figure of that suit to get the new character.
- Namorita - classic green leotard aaaaall the way.
- Nova - I'm up for a new Annihilation Nova if they get around to it. Lots of cool effects they could do for his powers, blasting, gravimetric spheres, etc.
- Speedball - Penance for sure. I'd like a redo of the classic Speedball on a more appropriate/more articulated body, but that seems unlikely.
Trickshots I'm a sucker for archers in general, Hawkeye in particular, and dark/evil reflections of heroes. I'd take both in a heartbeat. The Doc Ock/Leap Frog body seems like a good starting point for Buck.
I'd pick up a Perez Firestar and an OHOTMU Namorita- otherwise, not interested in the other looks for everyone else. Dunno Sun-Spider, so that's a pass from me. As much as I say I don't have space for vehicles or horses, I'd definitely buy an Aragorn.
Gah! I check out for a few days and @beamish does a whole New Warriors day. In short, I'd take all of them, generally with the first few looks preferred to latter ones. That said, I feel obligated at this point to say that two heads and a removable cape on Marvel Boy gets you 4 canonical looks:
Also Rage's second costume only made 1 appearance in the gold colorway, otherwise it was shown like the first picture here.
After all of those my priorities are:
Really want a comic Phastos. The modern look is a very striking design - I'd have to request that over the pretty generic and kinda dull classic version.
Never heard of Shadow Knight, but I'm always happy to learn about a new character as an excuse to get the figure!
I'd buy both.
I'd get both, preferably the classic versions. 🙂
Pass on Shadow Knight, would buy an 80's Phastos.
Weekend Catch up
New Warriors alternate looks:
Marvel Boy/Justice - definitely the first costume with the cowl (and maybe all ‘head-sock’ head) would be most welcome. Don’t care so much about that wannabe LOSH costume with black legs and yellow shoulders or the extreme red goggles look. The clean blue/white costume with the gold triangle cape holders would be OK
Firestar - DEFINTELY want the black/red/yellow costume - preferably without the jacket, but with the jacket if that’s how it comes. Any other costumes would be “sure, fine, whatever”
Rage - always kind of hated the green helmet spiky shoulders look, but if they had to make another figure of the character, that’s the one to make.
Night Thrasher is perfect - don’t need another one.
I’m good with the various Nova figures I have - we got the brown suit, got the classic blue and yellow and got the more modern space blue gold. Can’t ask for more than that.
Speedball - the one we have is good. I didn’t love his Penance incarnation – but I suppose I’d buy it if they made a figure of it. But, like with Night Thrasher and Rage, it’s not one I need them to revisit
But now for the reason we’re all really here. NAMORITA - give us a real Namoria figure please. I’m still very grumpy about the garbage version they gave us trying to pretend like anyone wanted it. Give us classic green swimsuit, blond pony tail Namorita and do it, like yesterday. You owe us this one Hasbro.
Sun-Spider - don’t know this Spider-verse variant, but I’m all for the inclusivity of the disabled in the line (Silhouette would be good re=use for the arm braces and go well with the previous days theme, btw) and I would add this figure to the display if it got made.
Aragorn is a huge want of mine for the line. Horses in general are something the line needs - but Aragorn is probably first in line as the most necessary. Use one of the new Premium Oversize slots to do an Aragorn/Valkyrie 2-pack for like $80 and I’m there in a heart beat. And then just spam the reuse of the horse mold over and over again - Valinor, Widow the Spider-Horse, and then go buck wild on Western characters with their mounts. You know you want to Hasbro. DO IT!
Shadow Knight - can’t say I’m super familiar with the character - but I would be totally down for one of the later designs with the cool Egyptian mask, white cape and wrapped claw hands. That figure would be cool
Phastos - he’s a few down the list of Eternal characters I want in my collection but I would buy him if they made him. First I need Sersi – in her green Eternals costume, the one we have is straight up Avengers; then Gilgamesh, Thena, Ajak and Makkari would all rank higher on my list as well. He’d be next though. Always liked him better than Sprite, Zuras, Druig or some others. Unless we are counting the Eternals from Titan - in which case I want Starfox more than all of them combined
A mummy-esque variant on Moon Knight would be a buy on looks. Phastos, really anyone with a hammer, would also be a purchase. I'm a sucker for a hammer.
