Big yes to OG Rampage. Also, seeing that Wonder Man cover makes me wish Jeff Johnson did more comic work than he has. Love his style.
From those comic covers, Rampage seems like a champion of the people. He looks cool and I’d take him.
I know it’s been a few pages, but I’d also like the MvC or Zero Tolerance era Marrow. She’s probably in my top 10 now.
Probably breaking one of my collecting rules to get Yukio from Deadpool, but she's too damned adorable. If they did a figure of her, especially in a set with NTW, I would probably get it.
Yes to classic costume Rampage. Pass on Yukio in any form.
Shogun Warriors –
Speaking as someone who had two of the original two foot tall Shogun Warriors – and the associated Godzilla – as a kid, these were some of the greatest toys ever. (In fairness, I didn’t have all of that - I had Godzilla, my brother had Mazinger (Mazinga?) and my next door neighbor/best friend had Raydeen)… but they were awesome. My brother used his to menace his Micronauts a lot - but mostly Raydeen stood sentry over the vast Star Wars complex we built in my neighbors backyard to protect it when Godzilla would invade - which happened more often than you might think. My brother often used his Mazinger as the Empire’s secret weapon - forcing Godzilla and Raydeen to team up. Man that was the best.
Anyway - it would be incredible to get some HasLab sized Shogun Warriors (plus a Godzilla) in my collection. I would spend the money. Marvel could test the waters with the one they own outright first - Red Ronin - before having to try to figure out the licensing nuances of the actual Shogun Jumbo Machinders. But holy heck I woulb love them so much. Just for personal nostalgia reasons my top wants would be Mazinga and Raydeen but Dragun, Gaiking and Daimos were awesome looking as well. Daimos was the least interesting to my eye and would be my last choice. Seriously though… My wife would want to kill me if I spent the money and ate up the space to get more than one of these, but I would love it so much.
And of course Dr. Demonicus needs a figure, regardless.
Man, I hate when my ignorance of modern Marvel comics shows through - but I don’t know Monica Chang. Obviously SHIELD agent and/or adjacent. I don’t have a specific connection to her so not sure I would need her to be her own separate figure, but that last outfit in the widow costume - I wouldn’t mind that one so much. Not something I need, but probably not something I’d say no to.
Big Hell Yeah! to Bi-Beast. I don’t need him quite as big as that first cover image - he’s not twice as big as the Hulk for me, but certainly big and bulky. Either as a chunky BAF figure or better yet as a deluxe figure I would love to get him. The watered down version they gave us in that movie adjacent Hulk line is tiny and simply doesn’t cut it. We need a real, Marvel Legends, orange skinned Bi-Beast action figure.
I saw the title for Rampage and I was like - didn’t we already talk about the worst 2099 character. We’re doing that again. But this is a different guy. It’s funny, because you have to be pretty forgettable to appear in the Champions - one of my favorite titles with an incredibly short run (17 issues) and I still forgot about him - and then he appeared in Wonder Man, and while I remembered Splice, I forgot him again. The costume is a bit busy and not the most aesthetically pleasing. What I’m saying is, it wouldn’t be a tragedy if they never got around to memorializing this guy in Legends form.
Yukio on the other hand - love her. She was great appearing as the devil on Wolverine’s shoulder, tempting him to lean into his baser instincts and away from the honorable path he was trying to walk to earn Lady Mariko. And she’s a certified badass on her own . It was kind of fun when she and storm palled around briefly. Anyway, I would pick up a Yukio figure to be sure (not the MCU version of course)
I'd get both, especially classic Yukio. 😀
Not familiar with Rampage, but that classic 70s era look is great. However....it doesn't translate well to modern times as some of those pics can attest to just on the art alone. This is one of those characters I would say leave in the era they were best represented by because I don't know that the costume would work today as a figure.
Yukio is a pass for me. Not a character (comic or MCU) that I have much attachment to so not looking for a figure.
I'd love a comic accurate Yukio to replace my kitbashed version! Heck, I'd even take a Deadpool movie version if they'd make it!
Pass on Rampage.
Probably would pick up a classic Yukio.
Only version of Yukio I'd want or might need, bonus if they do the Storm/Gambit from the Phalanx issue she was in. Beyond that, don't need the film iterations.
Yes to comic Yukio, no to movie Yukio.
Yes to Bi-Beast and Rampage.
Yes to Rampage; we have the core Champions and they need one of their main villains (after Swarm!). But man, Don Heck was NOT great at designing costumes. They're always too busy with elements that don't seem to go together, and often included clunky headgear. Even ones I like, like Mesmero and Changeling, aren't super well designed.
I'd take Yukio in the black bodysuit with the high collar. They could literally just plop a new head on the Firestar body and fill a spot in a BAF wave with her.
Day #925 - Blind Al and Deuce the Devil Dog, plus Attuma (Archive Day #246)
Really Hasbro? 20+ years and no Attuma? It's too ridiculous at this point with so many key characters, especially prominent villains still waiting in the wings. Classic Attuma has to be a victim of the "comic vs film IP confusion" bs. Just give us both in close proximity. It's a win-win which their marketing teams on all sides (Hasbro, Disney, Marvel) should be able to recognize at this point.
Yes to Attuma in the Handbook look. I would probably by Al and Deuce for the novelty.
