Day #849 - Phobos, plus Mephisto (Archive Day #175)

I might wait on Phobos until he gets a better costume. But I’d love to get an upgraded, better articulated figure of his father, Ares. 

Yes to Mephisto! He’s’ showing up everywhere!

Yeah, Phobos needs a unique costume. That said I'd get him in the SHIELD look. Big yes to Mephisto.

OK -  so quick weekend catchup

Movie X-Men -   easy one:  Super Hard Pass.   Still kind of like the first two movies -  even though Bryan Singer now is toxically radioactive and James Marsden looks ickier with his defense of child predators… but really I just don’t do movie figures any more at all so no thanks.

848 – Timeslip :     Sure.    Love me some New Warriors,  she wasn’t the best of it but the costume is cool and I wouldn’t mind the figure.

Archive 174 -  Fixer -  yeah, sure, I guess.   Not a huge need, but that costume from images 2 through 5 would be cool.    

Techno on the other hand is a HUGE NEED.   I need Techno in a big way.   I need a complete Thunderbolts roster and am somewhat non-plussed that we’re still so far away.     No Techno, no Meteorite, no Atlas, no Jolt.    It’s a travesty.   

849 – Phobos:    Not one I’m desperate for or anything.    But if they were to make a child’s body mold – say if they were going to do Power Pack or something similar -  then producing him in the SHIELF Costume would be quality reuse that I would buy.

Archive 175 -   Mephisto:       Another enormous need.     Probably the single biggest tragedy of the failure of the Engine of Vengeance HasLab project was that it put Mephisto back in the cupboard for who knows how long.    Luckily Goblin Queen found another avenue to see the light of day so let’s hope that the Legends team can find us a way to deliver Mephisto to us but he is an absolute essential character to the collection and it is ludicrous that he hasn’t been made yet.     The Marvel Select version is good,  but it shouldn’t have to stand in and Legends should definitely make their own.

Yes to a classic Mephisto all the way. Red suit pink skin wild hair. The most glaring of omissions from Marvel Legends villains.

While I agree that Mephisto is way overdue and I'd buy him if Hasbro ever made him, I'm also quite happy with my Marvel Select version, honestly. Now that they've given us a version of Goblin Queen the cherry has kind of been popped on that whole "you're not getting them if they're not part of the HasLab" thing from the EoV disaster.

Phobos is probably a yes in the SHIELD uniform but not really dying for the character

I'm still cool with the Select Mephisto but would absolutely go for an official Legends figure. Not to mention that Select figure is 20 years old and has some wonky ariticulation.

Phobos is a pass, but classic Mephisto is a BIG yes.

Mephisto is one of the three or so biggest omissions from the line. Hasbro's excuse about not being able to make him because of some loose satanic imagery is nonsense. He's no more representative of the Christian devil than Warren Worthington is of the Christian God. There's no reason he can't be a fan channel exclusive.
