I went to 2 local Targets and the only single figures they had on clearance was the Ant-man movie figure. They had the Spider-verse & Avengers 60th anniversary figures on clearance. At the one Target an associate was putting up the clearance tags so they were blocking the entire Marvel section.
There are 3 Targets on my way to work, so I will check those out later today.
By the time our targets get around to clearance pricing the figures, they will be pretty well picked over 🙁
I did find 1 Scrap Iron clearance for $22.94 everything else was full price. i also finally found out we had ollies here, but its was the same garage figures walmart sat on for 2 years.
Nice to be back here! It took a while before I realized the forums were back up.
Unfortunately, some things never change. After reading about this outrageous Target clearance sales on the Avengers figures, I decided to visit 3 stores last night.
Surprisingly, I found all the anniversary sets spread across the 3 locations however, all scanned at regular prices.
I really want the Doom, Thor, Hulk sets but, I'm sure by the time they hit clearance, they'll all be purchased instantly.
I also read a few pages back that the Walmart exclusive Kraven was being clearanced out for $8?!?!
Too much variance in prices is what caused me to mostly drop out of collecting Marvel Legends a couple of years ago.
I would spend $25 for a single-carded figure only to have the same figure drop in price by half a few months later.
Conversely, I'd pass on a figure hoping it would go on clearance. Instead, it sells out and then goes for double on eBay.
Yuck.
Based upon the posts in this forum I made a special trip to my local Super Target last night but nothing has been marked down there yet. I wasn't surprised as my Target tends to be a week or two behind others in marking stuff down. I'll check again on over the weekend. They're sold out of a lot of the stuff that others are already finding as marked down such as Retro Spidey, Quantumania and Marvels figures as well as the Joes and Masterverse people have mentioned here. As far as Avengers 60th they've only sold out of Iron Man and the Skrulls but have plenty of all of the others so I'll hope to pick up more of those, the Cyborg Spider-Woman and the WWE Elite Brother Loves when they do eventually get marked down.
I bought all of the Avengers anniversary packs, Egghead and Elektra for half off this morning!! What a deal
Saved $220! This is the price these figures should be.
All of the Avengers at my Target were 50% off, just not labeled as such. All their scanners had been removed so I had to find an employee to scan it. I picked up the Hulk/Bruce on Wednesday night. I went back this morning to pick up the skrull 2-pack. I really was on the fence about this one, but for 50% off I would go for it. There was a guy in that aisle with a stack of 13+ pieces and he had all the skrull 2-packs in that pile. I was fine with it. It really wasn't a set I wanted, but the look on his face when he saw me eyeing his stack was priceless. He grabbed it all up and went around to the next aisle. I checked out the NECA section on the back wall and upon leaving I noticed him on that other aisle. He saw me looking again. I thought maybe he might put some of it back. I did recognize him as the son of the owner of a local comic /collectible shop in town. It was fun to watch him squirm.
Picked up a nice pile today. Heroes Reborn IM for 11.50, Hulk/Banner,2 Thor/Destroyer, Monica/Doom, and 2 Skrull/Veranke for 50% off
Went to five Targets today, and all of them had the half off clearance. None of them had hoodie Miles fully reduced; two had him at $21.24 and three had him at $17 and some change. One of them oddly had Chasm at $17 and change, but the others had him half off.
I already had all of the 60th sets and a few of the other figures, but I bought them all again anyway. Target lets you return stuff for up to 3 months, or 4 months if you have their Red Card, and these just hit shelves in early August, so my plan is to just return the ones I bought today under the receipts from last month.
The generous return policy is one of the main reasons that Target has long been my go-to store for toys. Sucks to see them struggling so much with managing inventory, and it makes me wonder if they will take the wrong lesson from their bad management and just cut back on carrying some lines.
Nothing on clearance from marvel, Star Wars, joes or Indiana Jones at my target.

I dunno, do you think a lot of these sets would sell if they left them on the shelves for, say, another month? I feel like its a very front-loaded thing now, people willing to pay full price buy these right away and everyone else hunkers down and waits for sales, especially after the precedent of many of these sets hitting clearance (often rapidly) during previous years.
I'm not really sure what the solution is. I do appreciate that hasbro didn't seem to upcharge for the anniversary label as they have in the past. I also appreciate that Target seem to stock their exclusives pretty well - even only a few years back i remember being nervous about being able to get that Storm/T-bird 2-pack, i needn't have worried lol.
There are a few other targets i'll check tomorrow but i'm guessing they'll have been picked over already. the one closest to me has generally been the most well stocked anyhow.
I don't usually find these big clearance loots, but in the last two days I've gotten Hulk/Banner, Hawkeye, Cobb/Cad, Thor/Destroyer, Astonishing Ant-Man, and Boba Fett from "The Mandalorian" model kit. All of them at half price. I passed on Veranke (didn't want), Scrap-Iron (already got him), and a couple others.
Half priced toys are fun!
My local Target had all of the new Marvel Legends 2-packs for 50% off. I just found out tonight and rushed over there to see if anything was left. The other day they had like 6 Hawkeyes, and 5 Hulk/Banner set, and 2 Thor/Destroyer sets on the shelf, so I hurried to the figure aisle and all that was left were a few Monica Captain Marvel/Doc Doom and Skrull Queen/Super Skrull sets. I really didn't want either of those. There was one First Appearance Iron Man on the pegs for $13, so I grabbed that. I figured that was going to be it when I looked up and an associate walked into the aisle with a pristine Gray Hulk/Bruce Banner 2-pack in his hand. I asked if I could have it and he handed it to me. I scanned it and it was $29! I couldn't believe my luck. That was the set I really wanted the most. So score!! Check your Targets!

That Storm/Thunderbird set was the first one I recall where Target sold it SO poorly. They sent 10 to 20 of those to EVERY store. WTF? That was WAY too optimistic, and then they clearanced them out fast. As a casual observer who follows Legends it was obvious they were never going to sell all of the ones they sent to every store, so why send so many out if you're not going to give them shelf time?
And then they just screwed up their new exclusive Black Widow. First supply hit stores about two months ago and YES, instant win, they sold them all within a week or two! And now a re-stock is hitting shelves for a product that FLEW off the shelves...and they're immediately clearanced to 50% off. A toy that is selling like hotcakes their brilliant pricing system marked down 50%...why? Because it's really, really dumb. 🙄 Storm/Thunderbird and Widow are just two examples out of a dozen or two we could go into that they just keep making over, and over, and over, and over now. Their biggest problem is they never fulfill a significant number of their pre-orders now even after that product has been shipped out to stores.
And they're mis-managing everything to a degree that I have ZERO faith they know how much money they're constantly leaving on the table. At some point I fear they will blame the product instead of their mishandling of the product.
Wow, i didn't realize that about the Widow figure - never saw her at my local Target (I'll assume they got some and just sold out quickly), that does seem like a mistake but i'd guess she just got swept up in the rest of the ML clearancing.
It feels like usual they do a better job of holding off on clearancing their own exclusives. Sure, yondu and ant-man hit clearance eventually but i ended up buying them for full price before that.
yeah the storm/thunderbird situation was crazy. you can still get for like $30 or so on ebay, given that its been a few years that tells you they made way too many of those sets. I do think an FA Storm figure sold solo would've been a hot seller but i dunno, the other storm figures are easy enough to come by so maybe i just overestimate her popularity with collectors.
