There are a bunch of Ollie's all over Georgia! I've only ever been to one, and now that I'm no longer in Atlanta the closest one is about an hour away.
Two Ollie's here in the Richmond, Virginia metropolitan area so they're definitely in the Mid-Atlantic now and have been for at least 3 to 4 years.
Yeah... there was a minute where it seemed like 5 Below might get in on that action figure clearance game but it didn't last long.
And there was that glorious time, long ago when Big Lots had Masters of the Universe Classics figures for $10 each. Man did I load up on those. Haven't seen a decent action figure at Big Lots in years.
Clearance memories, I love it. I bought so many Onslaught BAF wave Scourges at 5 Below but I never did find much of what I wanted during the MOTU Classics Big Lots madness. I remember watching a guy and his girlfriend literally sprint through a store to the figures and just start grabbing whatever they could like they were gold.
Ollies was the site of my greatest find — an endcap full of the Cobra Island 7-packs during the 25th days for, I think, $14.99. They had been pretty expensive online exclusives. I had no idea they were coming and it was amazing. Great figures in those packs. Bought a Joe and three Cobra sets.
I still take a hopeful look around 5 Below when I take my daughters but I think it's safe to say that ship has sailed. Can't remember the last time I was in a Big Lots.
Ollies has expanded to 31 states now, according to the internet, so they're around. But it's definitely an East Coast thing. (Not sure how old this image is.)
Do you guys in California ever go into DeeDee's Discounts? I was there last summer (in Oceanside) and found both Marvel Legends and Transformers. Of course, I might have gone on the only good day.
Where I live the only DeeDee's Discounts stores are only located in neighborhood's where you risk your car being stolen or getting stabbed in the parking lot by a junkie so I've tended to avoid them. I'm not sure savings on a few old Marvel Legends is worth the risk
Okay, I was very wrong about Ollie's. I somehow lived in the hotspots in both FL and DC and never saw an Ollie's or heard of someone going to one.
@rishoutfield Yea, I've stumbled through a few DD's Discounts but they're pretty far out of my way. They're owned by Ross but they're marketed towards less affluent communities so they share a lot of the same stock (and have the same prices). Ross uncommonly had an avalanche of good action figures dropping in the second half of last year then went barren, so I imagine DD's was about the same.
i live in south miami and i have two ollies way up north at boynton and west palm beach, it's about 2 hr drive. found a few items there before but because of the distance i don't go too often, now with these recent finds i'll driving up there this weekend.
Like PantherCult said, DD's Discount stores are not the nicest places to go. They are usually run down more than a Ross. Stuff is all over the place. You can try to sort through the mess. But it's usually not worth it. You just come up empty and feel kind of dirty. I haven't bothered to go into one in years.
I did not know there were no Ollie’s out west. Learn something new everyday I suppose. There’s an Ollie’s a straight shot up the road from me about 15-20 minutes away. I found a crap load of stuff there this past Wednesday. I just so happened to stop in on the day they were putting out all the new figures, and I went pallet diving. The guy stocking seemed a little irritated with me, but he let me grab what I wanted anyway. My wife was with me and I didn’t have time to wait for him to finish putting things on the shelves. (In my defense, he was in no hurry).
The next day my sister was in the same store and she called me and asked if there was still anything I was looking for. So I had her pick me up a second Joe Fixit and a Drizzt Do’Urden. While she was on the phone with me, some guy came up next to her and took all of the D&D Owl Bears off the shelf and put them in his cart. Of which there were like 15 or so. She was shocked. He was also on the phone with someone telling them everything that was there and asking if he should grab it. Luckily I had already picked up a brown and a white Owl Bear the day before.
Scalpers suck!
Found a couple of those ML Stryker 5 packs at Ross today. Wasn’t really looking for it and had never seen them previously. Thought they had all dried up by now.

Do you mean Stryfe?
How much were they? I'd love to get a couple more. Great blank from Zero and robot body from Pretty Boy.
Oops. Typo on my part. Yeah, it’s the Stryfe 5 pack. It said 24.99 on the tag.
It must be a trade off, because while we have a couple Ollie’s in town that I’ve found some decent stuff at over the years (although still no DND or Forge 3-packs), our Ross stores here absolutely suck. I’ve never found anything good there, even if it’s stuff that I’m not looking for but that someone might want.
I really only want Stryfe from that 5 pack (although I wouldn’t mind Pretty Boy) so finding one for $25 would be an absolute dream.
