The only discount I ever saw on Blob wasn't really a price cut on the figure specifically, but he was available as part of Gamestop's buy 2 get 1 over the holidays.
The Wal-Mart Joe Fixit is another figure that never went on discount, and sold out fairly quick. I'm hoping he sees another release somewhere as I didn't pick it up when it was available.
I just don’t care for blob’s faces. I want a more menacing look if I’m going to replace the baf and pay retail price. I’d grab him for $30, but I can live without it until a price drop or re-release. You know damn well they didn’t make those tools for a one-time production run.
Based on MODOK and Mojo, there's no reason to believe Blob WOULDN'T go on sale. Maybe Hasbro wised up and didn't overproduce the figure. I can very much understand anyone who paid full price for the two aforementioned large deluxe figures only to see them get a steep discount months later, be apprehensive about doing the same a third time. 55-60 is a lot to spend on him. So is 75. But there are no other options if you want it. I don't think Blob will ever go down at this point, but I've been wrong many times before!
@andru That's happened before. I know it happened with Kang, then they got more after it was off the site, or more specifically not directly searchable for months.

Like I said, I don't think a price drop is coming.
I do agree that a re-release of the mold might be possible, Hasbro loves to get their money's worth out of their tooling.
But I do think they could do something like tweak the design and release the Freedom Force version - black instead of blue, with the FF logo on the chest
Or, maybe, they retool slightly and give us the original old school look with just the trunks and put it in a two pack with his buddy Unus the Untouchable (another minimal tool figure)

What Hasbro's done differently with Blob this time from those two releases is not release a second version at the same time. Elvis MODOK and retail release Mojo cannibalized the sales of both. Still have no idea why Hasbro thought it was smart to eat their own tail with so many simultaneous releases of non-A List characters in desirable and obviously less-desirable formats - SW really suffered on this front and Power Rangers. Is putting the tooling back on the production line that expensive? (Honest question)
I'm sure a second release will eventually come, hopefully with a better head - I also don't really love either headsculpt.
I don't think Elvis MODOK cannibalized MODOK's sales. MODOK doesn't fill the Elvis MODOK spot on anyone's shelf and vice versa.
I thought $56 was steep for Blob, so I decided to wait. Ironically, I never wait for sales on figures and the one time I do it costs me $20+.
The other difference between MODOK's and Mojos and Blob - was that the initial version was a "convention" release and then the other version was a retail release. So Elvis Modok was their SDCC exclusive that year, that I think they ended up holding for HasCon or whatever. The plain Modok was sent to retail outlets for everyone. Same thing with Mojo. The first one was a 3-pack with Longshot, Dazzler (and Lil Wolvie) that was exclusive to HasCon. The other set was just a deluxe Mojo sent to retail.
Blob was just a deluxe figure distributed as an on-line E-tailer exlcusive

Anyone have good experiences with this store?
The Ferrara Market fiasco (and going back even further, Megalopolis) has ensured I will never trust another small business toy store again.

Same. Even if someone on here, or a few someones, vouches for the business, I'm still sticking to the places I know, even Amazon. I'd rather pay a little extra and actually get the figure than end up bleeding from the wallet.
I still check on Ferrara occasionally just to see if they're still in business. There's been a bunch of complaints posted on the BBB site in the past couple of months.
