New dilemma concerning those Target clearance prices. Online inventory shows the 3 main items that I was hoping to grab on sale, in a store about an hour away. Debating on whether to risk it in hopes that they're actually in stock. Still shows some in my local store but I have checked in person and there aren't any that I can find. I would hate to drive that far just to still end up with nothing. Anyone know if Target will check to see if an item is actually in stock if you call them?
Someone here does that. You can try! You could also do store-pick up and when you get there ask them to honor the clearance prices instead of the online price.

It's up to each employee, but more often than not someone will do it. If one won't try another department. I usually try toys first, then electronics, and then customer service. Sometimes stores are set to automatically forward calls to the toy or electronics departments to customer service. If one employee won't do it you can try calling again hoping to get another employee. Not only will they usually tell you if it's in stock they will also usually hold it for you at customer service until the end of the day. I've done this dozens of times.
What's particularly useful about this is the great majority of the time a helpful employee will get someone to check the back. I usually start with toys or electronics because those employees usually know where to check in the back themselves, whereas customer service often doesn't know or can't do it because they have to stay up front. It's possible that your closer store that showed inventory online that you didn't see on the shelves has them in the back. Target shelf stockers are trained to not put more product out than will fit on the pegs or in front of a shelf tag, so they often put stuff that doesn't fit in the back. Calling ahead of time can mean that the back gets checked before you even get there. I'd much rather wait on hold at home than wait in the store for them to check the back, and that's why I frequently call first when I'm looking for very specific items.
When you do go to stores here's a pro tip--if they have those new touch-screen scanners at the ends of aisles the screen will explicitly say if there is inventory in the back. Employees can easily check that as well when you call.
I don't know if anyone else is aware, but a friend recently discovered thatTarget has an eBay store.
Some stuff is quite a bit lower, and if you look at or watch an item, they'll send you offers for purchasing it.
Thanks for this tip! I watched the already-discounted $16.99 ML Chamber last night to test it out and got an offer today for $13.59. Pretty neat trick.

Thanks for the answer and tips. I called both stores and both had zero inventory on the shelf or in the back. Local store told me that they were clearanced out of the inventory so they wouldn't get anymore in, which I already knew. My local store has had a single Hulk set available for the longest time so I gambled and tried ordering it for pick up. Pretty sure it's not going to be fulfilled but it's worth a shot
**Update**
As I expected, it was not in stock. So, now I have the option of having it shipped to me. If I get it shipped at full price, I can get it price matched to the clearance price? Is that correct or will I be stuck paying full price for it?
Last update
Called Target and they said that they do not price match clearance items. I would have to return the item and then wait for it to hit the sales floor and buy it at the clearance price. I already know, that if I did that, I would never see it again.
I saw on FB, Ollie's is getting Cap's stealth shield.
How much would we expect the stealth shield to cost? Half of MSRP, so around $50?
@enigmaticclarity I just checked out the ad on ollie's site. The shield is $40. They also have Filoni's Black series helmet at $30.
I sure wish I could get some of those $4.99 Joes they're advertising. Last weekend they had at least ten movie cases on a pallet plus several cases on the shelf. The accessories should be worth $4.99.
I've still never been to Ollie's even though we have two in my area. Last time I looked there were three or four, but it looks like we're down to two now. Might be worth a trip for the shield, although I'd much rather have one of the original versions the Legends team made.
What am I saying? I have no room for a shield.
The sites that preview next week's retail ads has the flyer for next week's Target sale, and it is $10 off of $50 or $25 off of $100 in toy buys as shown below. So it's time to load up on anything you've been holding out for. These sales usually do stack with clearance pricing, so if anyone hasn't gotten all of the recent waves or the 60th Anniversary Avengers sets next week is a fantastic time to do it.
It's too bad the clearance pricing isn't in effect online.
I just found a clearanced Commander Rogers and Karnak. Karnak turned out ok, but I opened Rogers to find a DCUC red lantern Skallox instead! 🙁
Luckily I was only out $7 and he was actually one DCUC I still needed lol.
The tape job was good, but I should have known it was a return based on the barcode sticker.
okay we don't have a tread for the this wave and i figure since we're talkng about going into clearance i'll ask here.
does anyone have the parts for the cassie baf from the comic figures they don't want? i collect the mcu ones and i already got hope and kang for their parts but i need the rest that came with the comic figures.
i would prefer if someone has the parts together so makes the paying and shipping a bit easier.
if anyone has them and @red_ogre can go to my profile, i have my instagram link there so you can do what these youngsters call it "slide in my dm's" so we can work out a deal.
Stuck this in the wrong thread earlier.
Found a Star Wars kicker shipper this morning with Fives, Clone Trooper, and the new Bad Batch 6" figures.
6 Fives
3 Clones
2 each Hunter, Tech, Echo
Wrecker was there as well.
Happy hunting!

There is a thread for that wave:
