@jtmarsh same. that looks better than thier first attempt

SO much better, so many heads, a whole other torso and his own Sentinel base like Rogue.  It's like they've been mining my dreams.  That old Wolvie's heads just couldn't convince me to buy.  I know I'm in trouble now because they'll likely hit us with Nightcrawler given their '97 fight scene.  I can only hope HE will come with a '92 head or two for us completionist/indecisive folk.

Look good! Can't go too deep into the Spider-Man TAS line but planning to get Spidey, Venom (and Hobgoblin if they do him) at least 😀

The Spider-Man figure looks a bit darker than I expected him to be, I think that is down to the heavy shading on the figure. I will be picking him up however.

Mad Hatter tour of the Mondo booth (starts at the X-Men, then the DCAU stuff then Spider-Man TAS around the 9 minute mark)

Mightttt be tempted by the Uncanny Variant of Rogue. It's just so much money to sink into something, especially when the regular version garnered a notorious reputation for numerable quality control issues.

Have they shown pictures of the Rogue variant? I've been looking but haven't seen it.

toymigo's on instagram have some up:

It's a very similar colour palette to the MAFEX Rogue, which is probably why I'm so tempted. That and with some subtle tweaks in eyeliner and lip color, I think the neutral head looks heaps better:

But I'm assuming the variant they showed is a hand painted version, and the factory production could still turn out as off as, in my opinion, the regular version turned out.

FFS. That looks incredibly better! I'm really not as enamored with the animated aesthetic as I thought - I find the black on her legs very distracting and unattractive - and that's the exact face repaint I was expecting someone to attempt. No orange highlights. The blue eyes are a choice, should still be green, but damn.

Have they released details on her yet? I can't find anything. Is she coming with the Sentinel base? I currently have one regular and one limited that I shelled out heavily for on Ebay - and I should resell it quickly!

Using a doll stand to hold a vanilla pose makes me sad.  ☹

These are on display at a 4 day convention, with potentially thousands of people coming through their booth and possibly bumping those cases. NOT having a much sturdier way to keep them standing in those conditions would be foolish.

Honestly I think it actually looks worse aesthetically.  Wonky eye notwithstanding, these "Uncanny" editions are supposed to look more like the comic iterations of these characters.  Maybe it worked better for Magneto, but the metallic car paint look is what puts me off a few of the Mafex X-Men, especially Psylocke.  Not only that but since when does Rogue have blue eyes?  The brown part of her hair has no color variation and therefore looks more flat in my opinion, and I don't remember her ever having light brown eyebrows.  In truth it just looks like they did her "makeup" to look marginally more human.  The display model they showed long ago is why I ordered the timed edition animated figure.  It was stunning and I knew I had to buy it.  Now, I'm currently waiting on my replacement heads to replace the ones I got with botched paint.  So this "show one thing, receive another" aspect for a $200+ figure makes me hesitant to go all in on Mondo's Ghostbusters line if the paint is not consistently on point for these prices they're asking.

I tried to look for pre-order info but nothing turned up. I'm hoping it does indeed come with the Sentinel base as that's one of the things that tempted me about the original. Now I'm wondering if after Storm drops in her animated colours, if we'll get an Uncanny variant in a nice metallic silver.

I like that one of the heads incluided is a MvC send up with the extremely tall ears. I know I shouldn't admit this in polite company but i hope some talkented 3D printers or casters out there make a 1/12 scaled version of that headsculpt. So much custom potential..

I hadn't noticed that, I just thought they were extra expression heads but one does look like it has longer ear fins.  Honestly I think the new Secret Wars Wolvie headsculpt looks like it might be decent for a Capcom Wolvie if they tweaked his claws, paldrons, and boot wings.

@jtmarsh I think the Secret Wars Wolvie is pure Mike Zeck. Maybe with a little bit of Paul Smith or Art Adams thrown in considering how bright the colors of his costume are. But yeah one of those mondo heads definitely have longer ear fins. At first I thought it was just an artifact of the power point slide but none of the other heads seem to be artificially stretched out. Also I know the sculptor (Alex Brewer) personally and he and I are always talking about wolverine and he said he always wanted to master that perfect MvC/Bengus styled wolverine head once he got the ear shape just right and he said he'd try and sneak it into any piece he designed once he got it down. I just hope he gets consent to share this piece as a limited run with his close friends in a 1/12 scale format.

Good to know.  I don't see so much Art Adams in it via the chin, but perhaps the eyes.  I don't mind the chin, I was just enjoying the much improved Wolverine heads on figures like the Lady Mandarin / Ninja Wolverine 2pk, and am not likely to want a more stylized look for a while until we get a few more expressions that are similar to the face of that 2pk.  Even Astonishing Wolverine's Kevin James head was novel for a day or two, but now I've largely discarded it to the bin.  I know some think the 97 Gambit already looks like Capcom Gambit, but I wouldn't mind a more Capcom styled version either.  Hell, just give us a Psylocke like the games that's skin tone matches the training suit 3pk and I'll largely be good with that.  Right now Bobby, Betsy and a more Jim Lee 90s Colossus are the main holdouts preventing my core X-Men collection from being mostly complete.  Well, and 70s Banshee obviously.
