Looks like the special edition finally got picked up at the factory. Mine has been on the move since Friday.
I only got to take a quick glance, but my Rogue portraits looked good. Nothing stood out as wonky thankfully!
I got in the limited edition Rogue today. The eye placement looks okay across the heads, though one eye has a speck of flesh in the white. I forgot she came with the Cyclops blasting eyes head which turned out really cool. I don't know if I'll display her with it often, but it's nicely done and gives me confidence that Cyclops will have a nice blasting portrait when they get to him. The sentinel base is great and she stands on it well. They sculpted out indents for her heeled boots. It's not so cumbersome though that someone else couldn't use it, they just wouldn't plug-in so easily. If I ever get a flight stand that I like, I'd probably put Wolverine on this thing. The boot straps are pretty annoying since they're floaty, but I'm not seeing any paint rub. All of the joints move well and nothing is floppy. Now to figure out how to swap heads without getting a bunch of brown paint rub onto the jacket from the hair.
My Rogue is EXTREMLEY floppy! She is basically a bobble head and her legs below the knees wiggle at the slightest touch.
Absolutely unacceptable at this price point.
I have reached out to Mondo, hope they make this right...
The boot straps are pretty annoying since they're floaty,
I pulled mine up high so they stay on very tight and I haven't had to fix them since. One was spun around in the box so I freaked out at first.
I don't think I like the orange highlights in her red hair. Doesn't feel very Animated Series.
@andru that sucks. All of the hinges on mine are actually pretty tight, one of the ankles almost got me to get out the hairdryer, but it was fine. The hips are right on the edge of the loose. I think they lube those joints up at the factory though I haven't noticed any residue with Rogue like I have some of the others. Shelf-diving season is basically just beginning where I live as the humidity ramps up so I'll be posing her carefully on the shelf for the short term to see how it goes. I suppose I need to start paying attention to all of the figures released during the winter and spring as well to see if any decide to start moving involuntarily.
After having Rogue some 24 hours, I do think it's the shape of the eyes that throws off the look of her a bit. Even this fun, cheeky, winking portrait isn't quite the Rogue of the animated series. While the eye-blasting portrait actually looks a lot like her and I think it's because we can't see the eyes:
That said, I still quite like the winking face and the base is great making the deluxe version of Rogue feel like the most worth it of all of the limited versions to come before it. If I didn't have it I'd settle on the angry face. It's not perfect, but it still looks pretty good. The figure is also on the lighter side and I was able to use one of my many Mondo stands to have her hover as seen below. When I tire of her pose on the Sentinel head, I may see how the Mondo stands holds up as something akin to a flight stand.
I'm definitely looking forward to Cyclops, and my guess is that Rogue's boots were done using those floating pieces so that the legs could be repurposed for Storm so my guess is she will follow. Since we're already in June, I'm guessing Cyclops goes up for sale as a limited edition to time with SDCC which is fine. After coming at us with a bunch of releases in 2023, I'm definitely down for the slower pace of 2024 so far.
Is that the defect they referred to in the email? Looks like maybe the eyes are a little too far apart and you can kind of see where they were supposed to be placed. Or maybe it's just the angle of the pic. Worth investigating, either way, just to see if you can get one with better paint on the lips.
I bought two just so I could pick the better of the two in terms of paint apps, and be able keep the other in the box in case it appreciates in value. Both of my main heads / stoic faces have the overly spaced John Leguizamo Sloth-from-Ice-Age eyes. One even has an eye lower where the sculpt for the lower eyelash is visibly in the middle of the white part of the eye. I've reached out to Mondo but have not heard back yet. For $200+ apiece, they really should be able to apply paint apps correctly. Thankfully the lips weren't smeared.
Hopefully my Gambit arrives without issues. I'll probably get Cyclops but then I may be done for a while. I'd like a Wolverine, but the earlier yellow/blue version doesn't have heads that look that great in my opinion. I doubt I'll be buying the whole team due to the price point, so I'm just buying a couple of my favorites or ones that look too good to pass on. For me Rogue was the latter, at least when first solicited.

Any word/rumours on what Mondo's Marvel exclusive will be for SDCC '24?
Gonna have a hard time passing Cyclops up. I want to love this line, but it's hard to with the loose joints and bad articulation.
I'm very let down by Rogue. I was so excited for this figure, but in hand she doesn't impress as much. I really don't like the default expression. The Ebay frenzy over the exclusive heads and base also shows Mondo very much underestimated the demand for the alt pieces, leaving the regular edition disappointing.
Even still, her eyes could definitely be painted closer together and the orange streaks in her hair shouldn't be there. I'm also not liking the thick black lines on her thighs - they are shaded in a way that doesn't match the lines on her torso and I don't think they work correctly. I do like her upper thigh articulation and wish Hasbro could look into something like that that really keeps the sculpt and articulation.
I'm still curious how it is cost effective to include four!!!! of the same hairsculpt in a box instead of interchangeable faces. That's a lot of wasted plastic and paint.
Cyclops goes up for PO tomorrow (Limited edition is 1500 pieces)
Strangely its listed as X-Men '97 rather than X-Men TAS
