I kinda wish Sandman had been deluxe too.

Electro looks perfect! I had been wondering whether they’d include the “mask” ever since the movie first came out, glad to see they did!

@sound_swipe and it's not removable. But yeah, I'm really happy with Electro. No hesitation for me.

I was wondering if the mask was removable. Must be a likeness issue with Jamie Foxx. I was gonna display him with it on anyway. So doesn't bother me. Figure looks spectacular.

So odd that everyone except Sandman were deluxe for the villains lol

Right, I'd display him this way anyway.

But yeah, at least a sand pillar to plug him into or something. But it's cool, I'll be happy to own the full set!

Now I just hope the next movie has Black Cat and Hobgoblin, both look awesome, and they make figures of them eventually.

All this delay to not even have a Jamie Foxx face? WTH?

Almost none of the Sony villains have the actor likenesses. Vulture, Mysterio, Venom, Carnage, Sandman, Lizard (the last two it makes sense tho) and now Electro all have masks or some other facial transformation. Even the Homecoming Shocker from the basic line has some weird mask he never actually wore in the movie.
I’m not sure why or how, but there seems to be some sort of licensing issue with a lot of the Sony actors.

@hbhfback I think... that design was from concept art? I know he didn't wear it in the movie, but I'd still take a Legends figure of that Shocker.

I would buy that Shocker if he was in scale with Legends and maybe a smidge better articulation

Yeah, Shocker is one I'm still surprised they didn't do in Legends. I know it was probably moreso a likeness rights thing- either deciding which of the 2 actors to make into a figure, or working out likeness rights for both- but they could've pulled the same trick as the smaller figure and just given us the concept art version. Throw him in a 2 pack if you don't think he'll sell well enough on his own. I know he wasn't a huge part of the movie, but I think they did Shocker about as well as you can for a live action Spidey film; he's not really a villain that can be the main villain of a story. It's a shame we never got a Legends, since I'd be surprised if we see any version of Shocker in a movie again for quite some time.

Honestly... it looks like they got Fox's likeness and just decided to permanently attached a mask to it.

The eyes are whited out. Even under Ock's glasses he has a fully printed Molina face. They either got Sony'd or, more likely, Foxx'd. The box looks half empty and an alt head would have helped. Remember how there are two versions of Homecoming Vulture and one has a clear spot for the unmasked head and then the other has the entire figure centered? Sony'd.

Found ebay pics:

Talking actor likeness, I saw on reddit someone had painted the MCU Sandman figure with subtle hues of his green shirt and pants and likeness and it looked really cool.

I got Electro pretty painlessly. $38.58 total, shipping in May.

I do like the figure, but I'm trying to figure out why the price hike. Unless Jamie has a really good agent and demands a bigger cut for his likeness (and honestly, good for him if he does). Just doesn't strike me as a $35 figure. But then again I overpaid for ponytail Doctor Strange for a teleportation ring I didn't want because I wanted the character enough for it, so...

@docsilence

Yeah, the electric effects are the only thing I can think of for that.

I was considering waiting to see if I can find one cheaper in November. Having a few months to think about it helps a lot. I'll probably check again in a couple months and if it hasn't sold completely out, I may cancel and take my chances for Black Friday.
