Instead of more D&W figures, it appears today's reveal was a NWH Green Goblin helmet. But what they're really putting up for pre-order is a ton of baloney!!!
I wonder if there'd even be a BAF for wave 2, or if they go the NWH route. Speaking of, I just realized there wasn't any news about Electro or Lizard at SDCC. Dang. Hopefully for Pulse Con or NYCC.
Anywho. I could see one of the big "cameos" be the BAF. Could help in terms of acquiring likeness rights, and prevent anyone from becoming store exclusives or left out of the wave, though I do fear that might be the case here too. I think I remember hearing with Eternals, the figures for Thena and Ajak had to be exclusive because of the loophole in the likeness rights (though who knows if that's true- I'm sure it's at least partially baked into their contracts). Anywho, if they really are gonna go after the big names, I think it's time they work out Ryan Reynolds' likeness too so we can finally get figures with his face. An unmasked Deadpool is long overdue- he appears that way in all 3 movies, and if they are gonna attempt a Nicepool, now's the perfect time. Unmasked heads for the Spideys even happened in their respective movie waves too.
It feels almost impossible to try and guess a wave with all the variants and such, and I have a feeling someone is gonna get left out, but if I had to try, it might be:
Deadpool & Wolverine 2 pack (with unmasked Deadpool and sleeveless Wolvie, to get you to buy both)
Nicepool w/ Dogpool
Lady Deadpool
Laura/X-23
Gambit
Blade
Elektra
BAF Cassandra Nova
It would be a very female-heavy wave, which I don't mind, but I can see Hasbro maybe not going for it. As much as I would love a Johnny Storm, I can see him being the one left out, especially with the actual F4 movie being pushed next year (maybe he's an easy enough kitbash with a young Cap head and an existing Johnny Storm body? Kinda makes me wish I'd kept more of my Cap figures). I don't see them making Pyro, Sabertooth, Toad, or any of the other returning cameo mutants, as much as I'd like them to, but not at the sake of forgoing another important character. They at least have some chance if Hasbro ever decides to go back to the original X-Men movies for another wave or two (unlikely at this point, but anything is possible).
And as far as the "Foxvengers" go, getting Laura, Elektra, Blade, and Gambit together feels right. Could also make one of them the BAF as well, but they'd have no problem selling, whereas I could see Hasbro feeling Cassandra might not on her own. Same with Paradox- I could easily see them doing him, just because of the amount of re-use they can get away with, but I don't know if I want him taking up a spot in the wave.
Alternatively, I can see them making the Deadpool variants as a 2 or 3 pack, ala the Spideys. Deadpool w/unmasked portrait, Lady Deadpool, and Nicepool w/Dogpool (or, if they can't get Reynolds' likeness again, I guess switch in Kidpool?) Or even the "Foxvengers" as a 3-pack, with whoever is left taking a spot in the wave.
It's kinda exciting, thinking of all the possibilities, and I certainly don't envy whoever at Hasbro has to try and work it all out. I can see it being a big wave, like NWH, but maybe doing store exclusives instead of deluxes, since there aren't too many "big" characters left.

Thanks! It's Doc Ock's undercoat - hence the giant cut out in the back. When I used Ock's body to make a custom Fury, I had some parts leftover. 🙂

Thinking about a second wave for this film. Considering it's box office, I gotta think it'll happen.
However, I hope that isn't the case because we NEED these iconic Foxvengers! As much as it hurts to say I can pass on Laura simply because I'm certain she will be back and probably in costume. So I'm okay waiting on her. Anyways here's my guess/wish

Elektra or Blade (assuming 6 figure wave...if 7 both)
Now sure this would get deluxes or anything since I dont think there is anyone like Gobby or Ock that would warrant that treatment
Got my pre-orders in for suited-up Wolvie and Colossus. I don't really need anything else from this movie unless they make the spoiler-y characters. I'd prefer a comic Cassandra Nova to the one from the movie.

I would love the DP2 Juggernaut, sleeveless please. It would also be cool if they did a figure of the X3 version because I like saving money.
