I hated X-5/Brad in the first episode, but he cracked me up a lot in the second episode and won me over.
I'd happily buy a OB/Ke Huy Quan.
I'd only want Hunter B-15 in her hunter gear.
Unless Ravonna gets a proper costume, I'd only want her Judge Renslayer look.
I'd take an updated Sylvie, end of season 1 head, ditch the cloak for better paint apps.
I only want a brand new Avengers 1 Loki, anything else I'll skip.
I probably don't ever need a new Mobius.
I don't need a new Kang.
I could see an X-5 in the TVA prison jumpsuit happening, since it would lead to a Loki in the TVA prison jumpsuit.
Loki isn't the kind of show I need a lot of figures from. Loki himself, Sylvie, and Mobius are fine with me. I'd take a Miss Minutes too. Maaaaaaaaybe Hunter B-15. Maaaaaaaaaaybe OB depending on the rest of the season.
I think that might be the difference between SW customs and Marvel customs - SW accessories don't just go irrelevant when a real one gets announced, but most Marvel stuff does. SW is generic enough that a lot of it can still be repurposed, Jedi robes and lightsabers and droids, but a dedicated MCU sculpt is a dedicated sculpt.
That's a great point about the relevancy of SW versus Marvel. SW has its fair share of MacGuffins and one-offs, but it does feel like a lot of the universe can be contained within certain paramaters that apply to many/most characters- they'll either have a lightsaber, blaster, or no weapon, and said weapons will look very similar. Whereas Marvel has cosmic powers, magic, hammers, bows, tech, time warping powers, etc.
Not only that, but the MCU seems a bit more egregious when it comes to the one-off appearances of costumes. I love when a hero changes their costume, don't get me wrong, but it feels like it's a necessity for Marvel movies, whereas in the comics, appearances tend to last over multiple years/arcs sometimes. Not that Star Wars doesn't- there's a reason why our shelves are flooded with Lukes, Leias, and Hans, but at least to me, it feels like each costume carries some weight to it and has a purpose, rather than just "cool new costume".
All that aside, I do feel like there's still a market for 3rd party Marvel pieces. I'd still love a power effect for Kamala- seems weird that we haven't gotten one yet. Or a bow for Hawkeye that's got the arrow sculpted on. Hasbro has made strides for sure- the effects for Strange and Wong are great, and I love the hands that Classic Loki came with. Wish we could see more of those types of hands (if only for cross-use- would be great to have a green flame hand for Morgan Elsbeth). Though we've gotten some accessories/effects in Star Wars that I'd love to see again as well, especially the fanned saber effect that came with Dooku and then was never used again. A less weighty version of the Force Push effect that Starkiller has could be a cool accessory as well.
Echo is still a big one on my wishlist but right now, they can't do a figure fast enough. Come on, Hasbro.
Same. That trailer looked dope. I was surprised by how bloody/gritty it was.
Thought the trailer looked great as well. Makes me all the more glad I grabbed Kingpin. I'll eagerly await the Echo figure, but it's just going to make the lack of Tracksuit Mafia to back her up all the more disappointing.
Wonder if the upped violence means we may start seeing some alternate head sculpts with battle damage or blood. I know not everyone is a fan of those variants, but they do add a little variety to the shelf.
I gotta say, I loved the trailer. Reminded me of a Netflix show. Now I am pumped
@e-rock yeah, that's the big takeaway: this reminds me of the best marvel shows.
And maybe that's just really great trailer editing. I can't remember how good Secret Invasion's trailers were, but I'm so hopeful about this show. I always have been but it's great that, so far, it looks like it may get close to my hopes.
When the multi-verse saga started, I said I wouldn't be buying variants, now I'm wanting characters like Victor Timely in my collection.
I totally get that.
I am not going wild with variants. Case by case basis. But I do want every Kang
If you focus on only one character for variants, he makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, I've got to agree with those saying the Echo trailer looks great. Definitely count me in when they hopefully inevitably make a figure of her. Kind of makes me wish the Kingpin figure they did turned out... better.
Yeah, I'm happy to have him on the shelf but bigger would have been cool. Right now I have a squatting Peter Parker in front of him and a hunched Daredevil next to him with Elektra. I may have to have Fisk standing on something to raise him some.
