I think we have enough non-made characters from past D+ waves to fill 2 waves easily. Without resorting to What If easy kitbashes. Issue is, it feels like the D+ waves are not the priority they were. Daredevil may get some cause that has buzz behind it and Marvel is already going to film season 2 before we ever see it. But beyond that, I am not that hopeful for any make-up stuff. Outside of like Lizard and Electro from NWH.
Someone absolutely needs to ask Hasbro at SDCC about Lizard and Electro! And Aunt May, but whatever. 🙂
Lizard is still really surprising to me. A new head would be great, but they aren't even going to go for the easy repaint?!
I have to assume the Wolverine figure they keep alluding to being Dan's favorite of the year, still unannounced, is from Deadpool and Wolverine. That they haven't shown it is really puzzling - but officially they may be holding off on revealing the sleeveless unmasked look... even though Hot Toys and others already did it.
Hot Toys is funny with what they don't reveal. Here's a figure of the new costume from the upcoming movie you've haven't seen yet, but we're gonna blur out the face of the actor who's been playing the character for a few movies already.
Meanwhile, Hasbro waits.
I picture someone at Entertainment Weekly returning from Maternity Leave next week to dozens of emails from Hasbro saying "URGENT! What the hell?! We sent you the pictures for the Deadpool & Wolverine wave announcement a month ago!"
Part of me is kinda ready for no figures from D&W. It would be really interesting if they don't do anything for FF next year either. The terrible part of me sorta hopes for that because it means I'll definitely sell off at least most of my Legends. If I can't add the FF and/or X-men to the shelves, it will be even worse than when I skipped the 2012 Avengers figures until they finally did a Black Widow.
Some of my posts in other sections really paint a picture of someone wanting to devote their time, energy, and money in other directions than collecting anyway.
It's important for everyone to know when to hold em, and when to fold em. If figures don't bring any joy anymore - never a bad idea to get out of the collecting game.
I'm still hopeful Wolverine and DP are coming. Wasn't a full wave part of the leaks?
@enforcer You're absolutely right, and it's something I've been really weighing for several months. I've been cutting back a lot, which may alleviate a lot of my frustration or maybe it's just baby steps toward giving it up altogether.
And yes, a wave was definitely in the leaks, along with a deluxe Colossus. Have they ever held the intial movie wave back until after the movie is out before? I know they do it with Star Wars constantly. Hell, I'm still waiting for a 'Book of Boba Fett' Boba Fett.

Absolutely. I see a lot of guys with a "one version of every character" rule which I think is a very good way of scaling back if things are getting too stressful or frustrating.
I'm not sure about being revealed after release, but more than a few waves actually release long after the movie hit theaters due to shifting release dates. I have no idea what the delay would be in revealing this line. Not unless they put Gambit (rumor, unconfirmed) in the wave and they cannot, in any way, reveal that until after the movie comes out. usually things like that are made specialized releases that are revealed a few days after the general public sees them. This happened a bit with the D+ shows. They revealed those after certain episodes of WanaVision aired, for example.
That's true about the d+ waves... I wonder if the D&W wave could be the first mixed movie wave and was planned to come out closer to Cap 4's original release date, D+ style.
And yeah, one of each is clearly what I'm trying to work toward right now. I got real close for a time and should just go back to that. Iron Man and Spider-Man screw me up though.

I think they blur in instances where the likeness is not fully talent- or licensor-approved. The rest of it is ready, but they don't want to wait any longer for that final piece.
I mean, maybe Hasbro is going for maximum synergy and will release/preorder something at SDCC which honestly might be a all the chips at once kind of plan since there isn't that much movie content this year either, banking that they might actually make a higher profit while people are thinking about the IP. I really really want a Deadpool Movie Colossus so lets hope that rumor is true.
Cap 4 trailer hit, watch us see that wave before D&W heh.
