@joshsquash729 I concur, eff pretty much all my multiverse variants. They can die immediately and decay for all I care.
God bless McDonalds.
Sam and Red Hulk are the only ones on the leaked list? Oh, was Leader?
I'm guessing Falcon would be the only other one that's a likely, and it wouldn't be crazy for Hasbro to release anyone with an outdated costume.
At this point, having seen Sam's new suit... I'm REALLY tempted to get that one, but the only almost-definite figure I'm aware of wanting without seeing the movie yet is Diamondback. If i get only one Serpent Society member, she would be the one.
So silly, so dumb, so... perfect.
Silly, dumb, perfect is exactly right.
Seven weeks before DP-day. Have they ever done a movie wave this close to release? Is the preorder going to time with the Blu-ray release this time or what?
Yeah, seems they're still being oddly secretive about this one. I'm expecting lots of fun cameos, but who knows in regards to any groundbreaking reveals or anything. If all they're showing off is the 3 rumored figures, then you'd think that they'd be able to have shown them off by now, especially since we've seen Wolverine's full suit now. Unless they're saving his masked look for some reason, and Hasbro can't show the figure since it comes with his mask? The only plus I can see is that maybe this means they'll be out in time for the movie (though, with this secrecy, it may mean that some stores may not get theirs in until the theatrical run is nearly over). I don't know if there's ever a perfect way of doing things, per se.
yep, I agree with all you said. I will be happily surprised if the wave is entirely movie, and like you said... not sure why they'd hold it back so long if it was just the figures we already know about.
It’s honestly sad how often I’ve thought about this wave, I never realized just how much of a chokehold action figures have over me haha. The ML team mentioned that this wave was coming during a live stream toward the beginning of the year, and it’s been radio silence ever since. Even the slightest further acknowledgement would make my day at this point
I agree, and I'm on the same page. Sometimes I think about that, and the concept of 'things you own end up owning you', and daydream about selling alllllll of it.
Except my Boba Fett stuff. Heh.
Trying not to get my hopes up with regard to the types of movie figures we'd get in this wave.
An updated Deadpool and comic accurate costume for Wolverine is essential. I suspect there will be a 2 pack made where Wolverine has the mask and no sleeves and Deadpool is a bit damaged up (deco). If not, I could see a lot of those Logan Legacy re-releases currently sitting on the shelves being bought up for an arm swap.
Colossus has also been rumored, and would be great. Outside of the rumored appearances - if Gambit is wearing a comic accurate costume, that would be must-have. Ditto Cyclops, assuming Marsden was lying about not being involved.
@ru1977 it's probably because the ones making the decision to not show any merch have no idea what's been leaked and what has not. They're probably involved on the film side and whatever Hasbro and other partners are doing for the movie is of no concern to them. Marvel/Disney need a win at the box office after a series of disappointments so they're definitely keeping things as close to the vest as humanly possible in today's climate. I think after the movie has been out a week or so we'll see all or most of the goodies to come.
@misfit i can be fine with that really. I'm anxious but as long as we get them, I don't mind waiting. The NWH villains took a couple years but I'm happy, so I can wait a little longer for more mutants.
I'm sure they'll come sooner rather than later, but Hasbro might have also took note of the Spider-Man No Way Home wave that came out so much later, and said "ok, no need to hurry." Of course that was probably due more to Sony's involvement, but that also doesn't mean that Hasbro didn't decide that it was just better to wait rather than rush anything, especially if Marvel was telling them to avoid spoilers like we've seen from Funko, Lego and McDonalds. I also won't be shocked if they drastically reduce the quantity produced on these compared to what we saw for recent MCU figures.
I'm personally more of a comic figure guy anyway, but am hoping for Cassandra Nova and Azazel from this movie. No real interest in any more figures of the titular characters or from the old Fox-verse for me.
@stephenwdavis part of me really is okay with waiting. I always notice how long after these projects come out that Hot Toys is still making figures, and that's perfectly fine if they're still releasing figures we want even a couple years later.
I've said before, but putting out the obvious characters right away, then doing the spoiler characters, villains, or cool supporting people in a later wave (possibly finishing up the wave for the next movie with just those obvious characters) makes a lot of sense to me.
But the NWH or Black Panther template works for me too.
I think it'll really end up depending on what we'd have to wait for. Like, say, a Pyro, I'm cool waiting on. But if something like a Gambit happens, then that's something I'd want on my shelf pretty quickly. But I'm trying to keep my expectations in check and tell myself that, with most of the cameos, it'll probably be more or less a Multiverse of Madness situation, where we get some fun one-off cameos with little-to-no effect on the plot (most probably even played for a joke) that will probably not pop back up in the MCU any time soon (if at all), so having a figure may not feel as essential.
I'm just excited for the movie in general. It feels like it's really gonna be one heck of a ride, as both a love letter to fans, his fellow actors, and maybe even giving us a few things we didn't know we wanted.
I just had a thought (Yes, I get them once in a while).
Let's suppose for a minute that the "Taylor Swift as Lady Deadpool" rumors turn out to be true.
And let's say Marvel Legends makes a figure. And let's further speculate that word gets out 'mongst the Swifties about this hypothetical toy (Hey, they live on their social media feeds 24/7. If it's news and it has to do with their idol, they find out).
I can picture hordes of salivating Taylor fans breaking down the doors of every Wal-Mart and Target in the country, not to mention storming the gates of all the Amazon warehouses.
Because let's face it ... Tay Tay's fans are cray cray.
