I'm ready for the movie to be the biggest disappointment, because while I LOVE the first two DPs, I've NEVER liked Jackman in the role, and aside from MoM, ITSV, and parts of NWH & ATSV, I was over this whole multiverse B.S. before it even got started (still will never give Flash my time, and only partly because of Miller).
@ru1977 Like Misfit, I don't know if they were TB molds, but they were 100% Hasbro releases. I ended up with them because of the BAFs, but couldn't get rid of them quick enough (and X3 Beast makeup is my favorite version of Grammar's - HATE DoFP's awful makeup, and Marvels' CG was terrible, even though the design was my favorite Jim Lee/Animated).

You may be the only other person I know with a problem with Jackman. He's fine, and a good actor, but to me Wolverine's height was a big deal. Storm should be a lot taller than him, not the other way around.
The multiverse stuff... Hasn't bothered me as much as I expected it to, heh. And Flash was a lot better than I expected as well but don't blame anyone for skipping it. There's plenty of reasons to.

Ah, thank you for pretty much settling that.
And yeah, I'm not sure there's any way they can do a live action Beast I would really love.
The biggest thing that bugs me about the multiverse stuff is that they both insist that multiversal doppelgängers are Totally Different Characters AND ALSO presume upon all the “goodwill” and story cache built up by the “original” versions. Like it’s cool Jackman-Logan is “back”, but it’s not even the same character EVEN THOUGH they want us to port over our affection. This always weirds me out when folks be all “oh Iron Man/Black Widow/whoever can come back because THE MULTIVERSE!!” Like yo that would be a totally different character, no one would be “back” in that scenario and also it would just be incredibly awkward from a story perspective. Same with the Illuminati slaughter in MoM: like, bummer I guess??? but I never met these characters before, even the ones who look a lot like ones I have met, so, like . . . it’s hard to get all that invested in caring about their fate (and also it’s a pretty weak and cowardly way to get Big Deaths with no real story work).
I know this is the wrong thread for this sentiment - but I actually kind of liked the days when the Deadpool movies were Fox releases and so Hasbro would do a wave of comic based Deadpool figures to coincide - that's how we got Sauron for goodness sakes.
I really wouldn't mind if that happened this summer. A nice Deadpool based comic book figure wave to coincide with the movie's release.
If they don't have any comic figures in the movie wave, I will be utterly shocked.
If they don't have any comic figures in the movie wave, I will be utterly shocked.
If that happens I'll be more shocked if there aren't pages of complaints here about wasted opportunity for movie figures because of all of the massive amounts of cameos that are supposed to be in this film.
Heh, I'm pre-complaining about that already!
The Illuminati slaughter got me hard especially since they're clearly not using Krasinski in the 616/199999, and they redeemed Mount only to screw him over again.
And my biggest issue about multiverse shenanigans is there is barely any story, because the majority of the runtime (or page count) is all about the cameos.
And except for the first two Deadpools & New Mutants, I LOATHE the Fox-verse, so yeah, I'm SUPER excited to see MORE of it, AND the possibility of it being continued in the MCU proper... 🙄 (unsarcastically, I SO wanted ATJ to be in WV, so when they revealed Peters was a Bohner joke, I was quite relieved)
@tenime i probably enjoyed the fox movies more than you, but I am also ready for a full reboot in the mcu

I mean, this is a thread for movie collectors. What do you expect? Seems about as good an idea as going to a MAGA rally with a Biden hat. I know you said you thought it was wrong thread for that sentiment, but you're like Ricky Bobby in that scene when he says "With all due respect, when did you have your balls surgically removed" or something to that effect. That doesn't make your statement no longer misguided just cause you acknowledged it was wrong place
True. Seems like the place to wish for more movie figures. We don't even have countless threads for every single little thing like the comic figure.

So, actually, I think I explained the logic fairly well - the waves that supported all previous Deadpool movies were comic based figures only - so while I acknowledge that times have changed with Deadpool entering the MCU - I kind of liked the way they supported the previous films.
Additionally - since this movie is supposed to be rated R they may still be hesitant to do a dedicated wave of action figures for the retail toy action figure aisle - not saying they should, just saying it's Hasbro and they might.
But thanks for soldiering on in to make sure I knew I'm not welcome in "your" thread 🙂

GOTGv3 Gamora would like a word. 🙂
I don't know if there will be comic figures in this wave - I think they got pulled up to the Zabu wave. Unless Hasbro moves up another three.
Ryan Reynolds is a master of marketing so I highly doubt any promotional partners were denied materials regarding the main characters - he's not Jon Favreau (holding Grogu back was a great idea - doing it for everything since is dumb). And I hope we finally get an unmasked version of Wade this time.
