You know, I really thought Marvel/Disney was going to release a new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine at Cinemacon earlier this month. That would have been, like, a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY, what with the press, the exhibitors and the studios there and everything.
But this is the 21st century and we don't do things that make sense anymore. Let's just wait a couple of weeks and drop the trailer on a random Monday. Okay.
Well, that's fine. I'm sure it'll break a record for most views and generate a ton of buzz. Everyone will be talking about it around the water cooler for the next few days and that will build some hype.
So what are we going to see tomorrow? I know Marvel is going to save some, if not most, of the surprises for when the film actually comes out. Makes sense and I get it. But MAYBE ... just MAYBE ... there will be a surprise or two in this trailer. And MAYBE ... just MAYBE ... Hasbro will be allowed to show a figure or two.
Hope springs eternal.

Didn't they show nine minutes of footage? I read articles about it. So doing it this way generates two waves of press - for the footage and movie itself and then a whole new round for a trailer release.
Two golden opportunities.

Correct. My understanding is that they showed the first nine minutes of the movie to attendees who were there at the event. But there was no recording and none of it was released online (In any official capacity, anyway).
But it's okay. We're getting a new trailer tomorrow. And we need to enjoy it, because we are only getting ONE Marvel Studios movie this year.
But 2025? That's going to be a whole different story.
Yeah, supposedly the Serpent Society were removed but Diamondback remained. never know until we actually watch it though, heh.
Not strictly MCU but I think I'm gonna get that Carnage.
Same here! I passed on Venom so I'll have to go back for him now too. And of course, thus begins the hope for Morbius and Madame Web. (I haven't even watched Madame Web lol)
Honestly, I'll take anything live action at this point, besides re-releases of course.
Soooooo, I've definitely been away for a while. As an MCU only collector Marvel Legends and I have been on a break. The kinda break where you hope they go away and come back a better version lol. It's been tough but I found the less I think about them the less angry I become over the complete lies the team would tell us about "iF tHeReS eVeR a down time we have an excel spread sheet of MCU characters we'd love to get to.." Riiiigggghhhhhht. Anyways, I'm all for giving second chances so here I am again. Understandably cautious. So we're two months away from what will arguably be one of the MCUs biggest films Deadpool 3, where is the wave? Have we heard any rumblings about this at all?
Just that one is coming. I know they won't be shown for the first time in the streaming thingies. So I haven't even been paying attention to those or posts they make.
I also haven't gotten anything since the winter soldier Cap, though I keep looking at X-Men figures to see who can pass as realistic..and some of these face sculpts they're doing don't look like anyone I recognize, but do pass for real people. With the X-Men, the closer to comic costumes they get, the better for me. I have no interest in anyone dressed from the first three X-Men movies, so I have been considering sneaking some comic mutants onto the shelf. Wolverine more than anyone since his height has always been a sticking point for me in the movies.
But yeah, the MCU really feels like the stepchild anymore. Nothing against stepchildren. I actually am one and my stepmom is a lovely person.

I haven't seen Madame Web, nor Morbius, and likely never will. If they did a Morbius, I would still be tempted, but the only figure from Madame Web I have any interest in is Julia Carpenter, but I feel like the title character is the only one with any chance. I think I had that Venom figure before I even saw either of his movies, heh.
So basically, how good or successful some of these movies are has absolutely no impact on my wishlist. Please take note, Hasbro.
One other thought that I can't remember if I expressed here or not already, but Deadpool & Wolverine is going to likely eclipse MOM as far as disappointment over how many action figures we don't get from it.
The movie Carnage figure looks great. I have the Figuarts version of this and it's absolutely great, so it'll be interesting to see which is better. The Figuarts uses articulated symbiote tentacles out of the back with two ball joints in each tentacle, so it'll be fun to see how the Legends bendy wire tentacles compare. Hopefully they're somewhat easier to bend than the movie Doc Ock figure they recently released that are so hard to bend people are ripping them right out of his back while trying to bend them.

Dan's size comparisons are great, wish they'd do this more often for new releases.

I know Carnage was bigger than Venom in the movie, but was he THIS much bigger? I don't recall him being over a head taller, but maybe he was, been a while since I saw it in the theatre.

I agree. Seeing things like that has a real impact on me wanting the figure since relative scale is such a big deal to me.
And I can't recall how much bigger Carnage was either. I saw it once and nothing against anyone involved in making the film, but that one time was only because my son was so enthusiastic to watch it.
