I suspect there's a market for an unmasked Sydney Sweeney head.
Sony doesn't have a great track record for Spidey movies, but I'm kind of intrigued by Madame Web.Β I've a (probably common) theory that it's a prequel, and I'm curious is that will lead to anything.Β

True, and also non-Marvel Studio connected Spidey figures. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from Venom, was the last Legends figures done for a live action Sony Spider-Man movie NOT produced with Marvel Studios Amazing Spider-Man 2? And those figures weren't actually live action likenesses at all.

So either way, probably leads to nothing, yeah.

The inevitable FF wave should be fun.Β
They switched the dates with Thunderbolts, so Thunderbolts is now 5/2/25. I'm really hoping to want only three figures from Thunderbolts, and likely will only want the Four, so that's a wave's worth there for me next year. Born Again as well, so might be a good year for my collection.
Loved Joseph Quinn in Stranger Things, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (He was in Andor, The Bear and Punisher even) - good, Vanessa Kirby - great. Not sure about Pedro Pascal as Reed...I get that Pedro is popular now, but putting him everywhere is just wierd.Β
I hope they don't make him stupid or villain (Ultimate Maker, etc).
We'll see, I guess.
Every time Vanessa Kirby was brought up by leakers, I had to look her up, and just did again. I still have yet to see anything with her in it, so I'll look forward to seeing why she has so much hype. Quinn stole Stranger Things, always toeing the line with going too far without crossing it, and made Eddie a very three dimensional character beyond what even the writing showed. Ebon has acted his pants off (sometimes literally) in every role I've seen him in and is another person clearly very serious about 'the craft'. And Pascal, I dunno. I've never been a Reed fan at all, and I know Pascal can play him like the comics, and he's even able to counter his natural charm at times. I'm very happy with the cast.
They even have Herbie in there... Will we see Franklin on Mother's Day?
Love the casting of the MCU's FF. If the schedule holds next year will be great for MCU movies I think. Cap 4, Thunderbolts, FF and Blade. I hope the rumors of it being set in the 60's and traveling to the Quantum Realm and when they come out it's modern day are true. I think that's a great way to crack a new FF movie. Please no origin story. Just be the Four already like MCU did w/ Spidey. The FF was my favorite along with Cap in the 70's and 80's. I can't wait for it to be done truly right. The old ones had elements that were spot on and some not so much (I am talking to you Dr. Doom) and I truly hated the 2015 reboot. I trust Feige and Company to get it right.
It seems kinda sixties-y from that poster. I definitely agree on skipping the origin.
I kinda keep forgetting about Blade. I'm just not that excited about it, and it doesn't seem like the studio is super motivated to really get it made either.
yeah Blade is my least excited about of the 4 movies for sure. I think Thunderbolts will be a blast because of the character dynamics. I loved David Harbour's Red Guardian and Florence Pugh is awesome as the new Widow. She was great in Hawkeye. I know some people are tired of the MCU and keeping track of it all but I personally love it. I love all the movies and shows just some more than others. Secret Invasion is probably my least favorite only because all the movie rescheduling around really seemed to hurt it and it was difficult believing Fury would leave to go back to S.A.B.E.R. with how everything was left. It seemed clear it was supposed to be out after The Marvels but the movie schedule moving around screwed things up.
@sgtstinky Secret Invasion is the only Marvel thing I didn't finish. Some of the more recent things, I'm not sure I'll rewatch. But most of what they've done, I still feel is solid popcorn. I'm probably more into Thunderbolts than most because of what you said with the cast dynamics. Throwing Bucky into that group has to be interesting too.
Man, Pedro has really been crushing it with the iconic roles lately. Good for him!
I really dig that cast. Pretty strong all around. I wonder if those are the actual suits they'll be using in the film or just kinda placeholder/basic suits. I like them enough, especially if they are going for the 60's aesthetic. The blue/white definitely pops more than the blue/black that's been the go-to for live-action F4 so far. Eager to see who the villain ends up being, too. I'm sure they've learned from (both) their mistakes and won't make Victor the villain this first go around, but I wonder if he'll be included at all.
And of course, I'm anticipating the inevitable figures too. Hope they don't make Thing the BAF. 🤣Β
I think there's a way to include the origin of the Fantastic Four without making it the focus of the movie. Just have it start right with the catalyst for their powers. Things go wrong, and we see Johnny go up in flames, Sue vanish, and Ben turn into a pile of rocks while Reed looks at his stretching fingers in wonder. Smash cut to title, then do a time jump to pass over all of the tired "We're learning how to be superheroes" stuff and get onto the plot of the movie. They want this movie to appeal to a wide audience so including some origin stuff is probably for the best.
They glossed over Banner's origin story in the opening credits of The Incredible Hulk, and the Spider-Man movies have only hinted at how things started for Peter, so it wouldn't be be too much of a stretch for the MCU's Fantastic Four to not include much, if any, origin story for them.
I actually really like the look of Reed's suit in the artwork they released, so I kind of hope the suit Hasbro bases their inevitable figure off of is close to what we're seeing here. I'm more of a comic figure collector, but a Pedro Pascal Mr. Fantastic will probably be pretty tempting.

I see what you did there. 🤪Β
I agree that a quick, glossed over explanation of their origin would be best. Maybe even in flashbacks throughout the movie? Comic fans are more than familiar with the origins, but general audiences may need a refresher, since F4 haven't been as prominent of late.
Either way, I'm just really excited to add some F4 to the shelf. Haven't had any members in the display for ages!
