An expected deluge is exactly why I cancelled all my pre-orders except for the Heroes for Hire 2-pack. I'm so tired of the "we say we're helping because we spread out the pre-orders, but flood your wallet all at once" crap. If I can get the other stuff later, fine. If not, I'll survive.
Saw some comparisons with Warbird and man is she tiny. Not sure what happened there.
I saw that as well and I no longer regret missing out on pre-ordering her. Yikes. I’m happy with the old Carol figure I’ve got.
She looks to be 1/4" shorter than the previous Warbird on the Moonstone mold, and maybe 1/8" shorter than the 60th Black Widow body she mostly shares a mold with. Looks like the upper legs and hips are different on Warbird from Widow, and they're a tiny bit shorter. Seems fine to me.
I always think of Carol as being tall like Storm
Sounds like Carol could do with some heels… 🤔
Sometimes I just don't understand some collectors. Goofy goobers.
"Oh no, it's a few millimeters shorter than the previous one, that makes all the difference! I'm canceling the pre-order now." Christ, height gestapo.
She looks 10 times better than that old reused body with generic head sculpt and ugly paint job. She will most likely hang on a stand in your display, because the character can fly. Unless, of course, you display your figures like soldiers in one pose...
Still looks good enough that I wouldn't cancel my pre-order if I had one. I think what threw me off initially was that her head looked tiny in comparison photos with other figures, but I know in the case of the original Warbird her head was probably just too big. Definitely looks miles ahead of that figure.

She is, they're both supposed to be a bit under 6 feet. So it's not her right height to be taller than Natasha, but it's not a huge deal. And I do care about height, just not 3 to 6 inches of normal height translated to this scale. If I did I would've had to pass up dozens of the best figures ever made, and this Warbird looks pretty spectacular from Dan Who's review.
So, I get it. The figure is nicely done - but it IS frustrating that Hasbro just doesn't give a shit about scaling their figures with each other. These figures are meant to represent a shared universe so it would be nice if they did so proportionally. Is it the end of the world? Of course not. Is it a deal breaker to buying a well sculpted figure? Probably not for most of us. Is it worth mentioning? Probably - so Hasbro can at least recognize we notice and would appreciate them paying attention to the details. YMMV of course
From the comparison shot I saw on Marvelous News, Carol is just a tiny bit shorter than Natasha (last year's anniversary version) but significantly smaller than retro Scarlet Witch (an older body). Comic height is listed at 5'11" for Carol. I'm a little bummed she wound up so small, but like Widow, they're doing something odd with actual proportions of the figure. New Carol's head looks quite small, but proportionate to the body in a way that makes the body look bigger. They did the same with Natasha, but when you compare her heads with say, Maria Hill who is on a very similar body, you can see the size difference in heads. I don't really get why these figures have proportions like that. Maybe some kind of cost cutting measure? The amount of plastic has to be negligible though.
Odd scale choices are happening more these days. Longshot feels small next to Dazzler. Barnes Captain America is too big. It's the kind of inconsistency I'd have expected from Toy Biz or Hasbro Dark Days. But these issues shouldn't be issues today.
Skaar is only $40, which struck me as a good price for a big figure.
And uses about 60% to 70% of the existing 80th Anniversary Hulk mold. That's why Blob is a far better comparison for Odin--I'm not sure anything in Blob or Odin is re-used at all, nor am I sure anything can be re-used.
Some comparison pics from Marvelous News. Looks like Skaar is mostly new, unless he's reusing parts from something else.
Skaar looks great!
Warbird Carol Danvers also looks awesome. I don’t mind her size. I think some of the female characters were trending too tall anyway.
