All of my Amazon POs for this series bumped up to 8/20.
Same. I’m expecting to wake up to emails one day in the next few weeks saying most of them shipped early overnight.
Hrm. While I’m good with Odin being taller (and definitely wider) than Thor, if this is true I’m not exactly too keen on them catering to Jesse Falcon’s whims. But whatever. It’s a great Odin I’m excited to add to my collection. In this case it works out.

Why? They've been doing that since the start. Marvel Legends was Jesse's idea, wasn't it? I don't have much issue with the father of the line continuing to help guide it. Some of his choices are really niche, but whatever, it's all usually still pretty fun.
I guess it was just a reflex reaction on my part, and honestly I shouldn’t have voiced it. I try to be better about thinking things over before I post them. Failed in this case.
If Thor is nearly a head taller than the average male Avenger; Odin should be about the same to Thor. Nearly a full head taller. And substantially thicker. Kirby pretty much drew him that way too
In my mind I felt Odin and Thor should be about the same height - Odin just a bit taller but not too much. I don't think of Thor as 7 ft tall, or Odin 8 ft tall. I think more in line with the scale @jayjonah has. At this rate how big will Volstagg be?
@detectivehoag Probably right, but I'd really like to see this figure next to the classic Thor/cyborg Thor.
For me (citing the official Marvel Encyclopedia that I keep handy at my desk), Thor is 6'6" and 640 lbs and Odin is 6'9" and 650 lbs, so therefore ideally would be 6.5" and 6.75" in true 1/12th Legends form, respectively and both should be pretty beefy with Odin being slightly taller than Thor. With that being said, I still fully intend to buy this Odin to replace my BAF with. It's just a significantly better figure all around, even if extremely oversized.
I find myself wondering if I can do something to repurpose most of the old Odin BAF to represent someone like Balder or another Asgardian or Marvel god, but that might be a stretch.
@fac I think of Thor as 6'6" and Odin like 6'8-9" but wears heavier armor so maybe up another inch or 2. Unfortunately ML are not a true 1/12 scale; that would be SW Black Series. 6 foot even is like 6.3 or so inches tall in ML world.

I think Herald Thor could be an ok base for a Baldur custom. Cut off the spikes on the joints. Total repaint. Would need to sculpt a helmet with the silver / bronze age plates. Really hurts to lose the scale / chain mail coif but I cant sculpt all that.
Nothing that new, really. Odin can wear the Destroyer Armor, which is pretty big. the marvel select included an alternate Odin head for that reason.
Odin can alter his size anyhow (see his powers listed on marvel fandom, under the Odinforce). In fact in Mighty Thor (vol 2) # 6, he increases to Galactus size to battle the Planet Devourer one-on-one. So i'm not too worried if the figure is an inch to tall or wide or whatever
Odin looks every bit the Absolute Unit he needed to be. I just hope the articulation is functional and he can hit some badass poses while presiding over my collection.
I am loving the character selection in the 85th anniversary line. Ms. Marvel (Carol) vs. Iron Patriot is one of the coolest hypothetical matchups that came out in Dark Reign. Unfortunately the actually fight on page was essentially just this single panel in New Avengers #58, but it’s still a great matchup. Happy to get to recreate with some very cool looking figures finally!
