Now that everything has been revealed, officially or by leaks, I find it interesting that:

-They didn't actually span 85 years, which they could have easily done by offering something 1930's-1940's: Human Torch, Toro, Cap, Bucky, Miss America, Whizzer, Namor, etc.

-There isn't at least one never-been-made-before character.

-There's only one female character, and she's an exclusive.

Not a fantastic track record, but then I think about what's actually being offered, and I didn't hesitate to preorder a single item. I love me some upgrades, but not even ONE never been made character? ONLY one female? This is 2024! That's not fantastic. The 85 years thing, it's such a silly excuse to brand a line on a seemingly random anniversary. But yes, they could easily have acknowledged this with any of those Golden Age characters. Bucky would have been perfect.

I'm just ticked that the last thing they're holding onto to reveal is the one figure I've been the most excited for. *grumble*

Great figures - trying to figure out how much of Iron Patriot is re-use. I think there is some MCU Mk 3 in there - am I wrong?

Is Doom total re-use?

I'm excited for this set. Have a few great Taskmasters now.

Iron Patriot is reuse of the Extremis Armor plus a new helmet, torso, and looks like the thigh armor.

This Cabal set looks awesome! So an Amazon exclusive. Can’t wait for this.

Iron Patriot! Finally and he looks very cool. I expected either Extremis or Pentagon Armor reuse. It looks great. Lots of new parts, too. Thrilling to finally get a good figure of this armor! Going to be a top 10 candidate for me.

Doom looks great with that fabric cape and Doombot head!

Taskmaster is such a great character. I liked the previous version of him, but the Vulcan body gives Taskmaster the perfect build and articulation for the character.

Doom's cape is cloth and he has the Doombot head.  Everything else looks the same to my eyes so far, but I'm sure I'm overlooking some other changes.

Looks like his tunic is shorter now about mid thigh vs. almost at his knees.  Also they moose and squirreled the head; classic head with the larger hood.

Now I can't decide do I like my Doom showing a little more thigh?  🤣

I'm sure this has been answered but what body is Superior Spider-Man on?

@popoman Looks like the average sized male body (Sunfire) with the addition of articulated toes. There have been a couple Spider-Mans with this configuration.

It's actually the RenewYourVows body. Dan Who? Reviews does a review and check out around the 6:49 mark.

@jayjonah That isn't the RYV Spider-Man. The RYV Spidey is the super-articulated Spider Man (Retro) with added toe hinges. It has a mid-torso ball joint and a waist crunch hinge. The Superior Spider-Man he reviews has the standard mid-sized male body (Sunfire) with an ab crunch hinge and a cutline waist. The articulated toes added to this figure are not standard on this body type.

Torso on superior spider-man is not from the sunfire body.

I think it’s safe to say now that Hasbro really doesn’t care about the Golden Age beyond Cap and maybe Namor. Which I guess also tracks with Marvel as well but still, a Human Torch someday would be neat.

Well, there are at least a few people at Hasbro that care about the Golden Age.  That West Coast Avengers boxed set we got last year was originally supposed to be the Invaders but that idea got scrapped by TPTB.  That is what I was told at SDCC last year.  Someone up the chain felt that a Golden Age set with Namor and the Wakanda Forever figures released that close together might be a little too much Sub-Mariner.

I think it's just a matter of time before we get the Invaders.  For starters, it would be easy reuse, not a lot of new tooling.  Maybe new bodies for Bucky and Toro.  It has at least one bona fide A-Lister with Captain America.  It would feature characters that compliment each other perfectly as a set (Seriously, how many people would want a golden age Namor but NOT the Human Torch?) And it would make a great gift.

I've often said, and will continue to say, that a line that calls itself Marvel LEGENDS should include the characters who were there at the very beginning.  When comics cost a dime and nearly every kid in America and the western world read them.  Those kids had no way of knowing it, but that was the beginning of a Universe.

So YES to the Invaders.  After 20 years of great figures, it would be welcome.

And Timely.
