Yeah....  obviously the complete layoff of the entire Select staff is terrible.   It's not all that surprising - honestly - since the new owners also own NECA and the two companies would seem to have a lot of overlap, but it's still terrible for the folks who put all their time and energy into Diamond Select.

And I was really hoping that at a minimum Annihilus and Archangel were far enough along that they would see release even with news like this.

I know the rights for Marvel Select aren't transferrable to the new owner with the sale, so I wonder if there is a way for Marvel themselves to pay for the figures that were in production to get finished and released or if they strike some new deal with either NECA - the toy arm of the new owners of Select -  or McFarlane - a company they already allow to make plastic 'statues' of their characters - to take over and finish production on the pieces already solicited.

Just sucky news all the way around.

The fan side of me wants to bitch and moan about Annihilus (easily my most anticipated figure of the year). Sucks big time.

But I went through this all a few years back - used to work for a DVD label that released mainly nerd-friendly titles. When we went under, there were loads of people bemoaning the lack of releases they were hoping for, while I was figuring out how the hell to pay the bills...

So every sympathy to the MS guys - hope you land on your feet.
