Read a report that says they have had at least one offer for DS, but that could be $15. And I would imagine licenses are not transferrable, so that's not ideal for any buyer. You'd just be getting a brand (a few if you include MiniMates & their various statue lines, I guess), a staff, a bunch of dead inventory (which you'd probably be legally bound to liquidate) but with no IP to generate any new things with.

This is probably bad info, but Amazon has our boy Annihilus shipping on the 29th of January. I doubt it'll happen (not even listed on Diamond Previews this week), but if you want to take a flyer, you can always cancel if they don't ship it on time (aka the 29th).

@jroug I’ve had Annihilus POed at Amazon since the beginning. Also at BBTS. I don’t have much faith that it will ship from either place by the end of January, nor for the foreseeable future til someone with more intel can chime in.

I talked to my LCBS a couple weeks ago and he said he knew about this awhile ago but had to keep quiet. He also said they are not expecting any delays on getting action figures at this time.

@tfitz Yeah I saw BBTS put up a new preorder for a reissue of Abomination post this announcement. I'm assuming things will continue like normal for the time being.

Considering how hard of a time my local comic book owner is having just getting weekly comics from Diamond, I wouldn't expect their figures to ship anytime soon. I don't think that he has received a shipment from them since before Thanksgiving and of course that was all paid for long ago. I have Annihilus, Rexsplode and 2 Mauler Twins on pre-order through BBTS as well, but I don't think that they were going to ship in January even under the best of conditions despite anticipated release dates. I always felt like figures from Diamond got delayed many months past original release dates far more often than they didn't.

Again I'll reiterate that I just hope that anyone with Diamond that wants to keep a job with them can under whatever restructuring they end up under. The people side of this is the most important. I wish them all the very best.

Factories aren't getting shut down so Marvel Select should continue for the time being. If it's in production, then it's probably safe. Diamond distribution has been late recently so maybe don't trust a release date. If the division does indeed get sold, then it will be on the new owner to make a determination on everything that's been solicited, worked on, and so forth to decide what should move forward and what (if any) should be scrapped.

They aren't closing up shop straight away. The chapter 11 filing was for protections so they could continue operations while looking for ways to resolve debts, or sale of the company and its assets.

Until there's some further announcement going either way related to what I just posted, I'd assume everything will continue as normal.

They also put out their Fall 2025 solicits a few days ago, new pre-orders have been going up, etc. Everything is moving as normal. I'd imagine something as far along the pipeline as Annihilus is probably safe.

Just want to throw in that, like everyone else here, I feel for all the folks at DST during these uncertain times. Really wishing them the best.

The issue of course is where was Annhilus along the production shipping process when DST stopped making payments. Hard to say. Wish them the best but it was always a bad idea for comics to be so dependent on one distributor

Chinese New Year starts on the 29th, so factories are indeed getting shut down, if only for a while. If these aren't already on a boat, it's going to be April (at best!) before they reach the States.

Unless a new owner is willing to pay any monies due to IP owners, the licences won't transfer & they'll be up for grabs.

Wishing all Diamond emplyees the best, wishing we get the toys we've ordered.

Lots of pics, please. I’ve been hankering after this fig ever since those grey proto pics came out, so can’t wait to actually see it in action.
