The president of DST loves Spider-Man!

Archangel will come with the retracted wing piece for his back.

I don't think we'd seen a painted Annihilus previously.

And War Machine, but he's got some unfortunate posing going on.

That swappable upper torso on WM is pretty sweet. I applaud the Select team for their ingenuity.

And as a little mea culpa, I was a voice of negativity when Cap was revealed a while back. I recently picked it up and I absolutely love the figure in hand. I regret judging it so harshly based on a single image.

That is awesome news about the retracted wings. I am so excited about this figure. I think DST already has the best Apocalypse figure ever made (at least in 7" scale or smaller), and this is shaping up to be the best Archangel ever made!

I am so stoked for that Annihilus and am eager to get him.   Honestly once I have him I probably won't even care if Marvel Legends makes it's way back to him as he'll be perfect in that collection.

Likewise. Legends will have to do something really special for me to replace the Select Annihilus. And I have that same attitude towards Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man as well.

But I also thought Legends couldn't do Destroyer justice, and we ended up with two absolutely amazing figures, so... *shrugs*

I'm pretty sure the final release was different than those first prototypes.  There is no way everyone thought he looked terrible, and then everyone thought he looked great, including me by the end.

@thor-el Same.  I'm content with the MS Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo (although CD's elbow articulation stinks) and imagine I'll feel the same way with Annihilus.  However, ML put out a rather impressive Destroyer, so I have no doubt they can make compelling ML versions of the characters mentioned.

The Diamond Select figures have been fantastic lately with wonderful sculpting and cool accessories. Range of motion does not seem to be a thing they are allowed to do. Titanium Man had great range for his size and the the thickness of his armor. But Crimson Dynamo had normal Marvel Select range—which is fine for this line. Just not super articulated. For my favorite characters, I will enthusiastically buy both Marvel Select and Marvel Legends versions of them and I enjoy them for different reasons.

The pictures are still easy to find and I can't really see a difference. I think it was just in a bad pose.

Completely agree. I am very excited for Annihilus, but from the pics we've seen I can see where a ML would hit different high points, much like the amazing MS Destroyer and the equally awesome ML version. Having these MS versions does make getting ML counterparts much less urgent, though.

I've always collected MS as a companion line to ML, but the great stuff they've been putting out has me eyeing other releases even though they're too big for my collection. Archangel and War Machine are preordered, and I might pick up Captain America given the opportunity.

Maybe I missed it, but were there any reveals at SDCC?

I love the Select Classic Cap. My only complaint is his hip, knee and ankle joints are very loose and he is hard to pose because of it sometimes. Still I love him and what makes it even better is his Shield, harness and hands can all be used for 20th Anniversary ML Cap too. They look great with him too. I can never have to many Captain Americas to play with and the surprising interchangeability makes it even better.

@wthiotina IDK! But I'm waiting for the next Select reveal that I can sneak into my Legends collection 🙂

I don't think they announced or showed off any new Marvel Select figures at SDCC.   Because of the way MS works they don't usually do big reveals at the conventions like that.   So as far as I'm aware nothing new was announced at the show.
