The figure might look best posed so simply. I'm not sure if the feet are small, but they look small. It adds to the heroic silhouette.
Even for those without dedicated 7" collections (like me), it's the perfect figure for a small display or bookshelf tchotchke. I might grab one for my desk at work.
Thanks for all the pics Norm! He really does look great. I don't have a 7" collection but I'm a Cap fan - might have to pick him up.
Nice review. I don't personally have any use for that Cap figure... but that last picture reminded me how much I still want that Marvel Select Taskmaster...
NORM, which Wonder Woman is that next to MODOK-Elvis?

I can't find/remember the exact line maybe Essentials(?), but it was latter day DC Collectibles, and the best gosh darn modern Wonder Woman action figure I've ever seen, which is why it has a permanent place on my desk. I'm sure someone more astute can chime in.
Great review and photos, Norm! Cap does look really nice! I tried to thumbs-up all your photos, but the forum was acting up.

I think I agree. My main issue with that Cap figure are his totally exaggerated comic proportions of broad chest/shoulders and thin legs. On one hand I like how it looks but on the other it doesn't really fit with anything I already have because I tend to go for the more "realistic" superhero proportions. But looking at Norm's pics, I can't say I'm not impressed with this figure. Plus it's packed to the brim with cool accessories.
Crimson Dynamo is genuinely even better looking in person. I think the paint apps on the unmasked headsculpt are some of the cleanest I've ever gotten. I'm relieved by that because I saw one on Instagram that was unfortunately missing an eyebrow (weirdly the guy who posted it didn't even notice).
I remember someone asking what to do with the gripping hands. Something I found is that the faceplates have a little notch in the back that lets him grip them. No idea if it's intentional, but it looks really cool! I'm thinking they actually detach like that in the comics (I know Iron Man's and War Machine's do), so it makes sense too. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@normdapito Okay your pictures have convinced me I need this Cap. The proportions give me a very Mike Zeck vibe a little bit but also looks like the artist who drew Cap in the early #300s issues when he teamed up with Captain Britain for a couple of issues. I don't have any Marvel Select right now. I had Ultron but got rid of him when Hasbro's came out. He looks great!

I think he's very deliberately sculpted to evoke the '80s-'90s proportions. I've seen that bluntly stated in their promotion for this figure. I think it nails it. I kinda wish more figures have off as specific a '90s vibe. Their Vision is a little more universal in his proportions, while Silver Centurion is dead on classic Bronze Age proportions. Psylocke is sculpted with very long legs, just like most '90s are depictions. I'm just hoping to see more consistency going forward.
Glad you like Cap, Norm! Zeck and Ron Lim were our inspirations for this figure. Hence the big star, the light scaling, the heroic proportions, etc. Product manager Robert Yee, designer Eamon O'Donoghue and sculptor Chris Dahlberg knocked it out of the park.
I'd prefer they concentrate on oversized charcters that can be displayed with my MLs. They're doing God's work with IM villains. Orca & Absorbing Man are great ideas; hate the goofy face on the ML version. MS seems to stick closer to classic style.
