Thanks for the kind words.... we're talking about... what big comic guys we can do.

I don't think Annihilus will be taller than other Selects, as he is very wide. Crimson Dynamo should work for everyone, unless he doesn't.

Not to belittle Diamond Select style or 1/10th scale collectors, but you guys have a solid niche with these larger comic characters that fit well in both 1/12 and 1/10 scale collections. I can see many, many Marvel collectors buying 3-4 of these types of products every year.

PS: I still love my Taskmaster

Taskmaster is one of their best works, I'd even say underrated. Top 3 MS for me easily.

MSWord's comments on the upcoming Captain America figure reminded me of some recent discussion in the Annoyances & Inaccuracies thread. A few people were talking about how they hate the scalemail on Hasbro's Green Goblin figures because the texture is a lot more subtle in the comics. What I took away from that is what they'd prefer to see on Green Goblin is exactly what DST has done with Cap. With that in mind, I bet there are quite a few people who have the same feeling when it comes to classic Cap figures and will really be into this one for its approach.

The Toy Biz scales (early box set or ML13) are my ideal for Green Goblin, but I much prefer DST's approach to Cap to anything Hasbro has done with GG thus far. The armor looks ridiculous.

Even the OG MS Green Goblin is much closer to my mind's eye. The bumpy skin is much more goblin-like than medieval armor.

Another armored character?  I'm hoping for Simonson armored Thor or Deaths Head.   Maybe it's a comic War Machine, as I don't think MS has made a comic version have they?

Same about the inability to make another Thing.  As well as no classic Iron Man.

I'm very curious to see what the MS Captain America ends up looking like.  When he was first revealed, he looked like a mess to me.  I'll gladly eat crow if he ends up looking good.

This would be a great execution for something like the Kree Supreme Intelligence. Just sayin'!

I'll pass along the idea! I assume MODOK will do well, but I guess this will be a good test.

Many, many Marvel collectors DO buy 3-4 of these types of characters each year! We've been putting them out semi-regularly since we started the line 20 years ago. Last few years we did Immortal Hulk, Red Hulk, Beta Ray Bill, Titanium Man, Apocalypse, Watcher, etc. But we're not going to switch to an "all larger characters" format any time soon. They sell well, but they also cost a lot more to make, and we don't pass that price increase along to our customers. And we're not going to throw 1/10 collectors under the bus by not offering regular-sized 6-foot characters anymore. But luckily for 1/12 collectors, a lot of our regular-sized characters can be interpreted as being bigger -- Super Skrull, Venom, Ultron, Sabretooth, Carnage, etc.

If I recall correctly, the original Annihilus was a small insect inside an artificial body, but I could be wrong. Not sure which Annihilus we are on at this point in the comics.

Are you mixing him up with Psycho-Man?  He's a microscopic being inside of a big suit who appeared around the same time (Psycho-Man in FF Annual #5 in 1967, Annihilus in Annual #6 in 1968).  Annihilus is wearing a suit, but I've never heard of him being small inside of it.  He's insect-like, but a big one with humanoid arms and legs, i.e. he walks upright and only has four appendages unlike most Earth insects that have six or more.

Here's a pic of him without armor:

I think at one point, wasn't Annihilus just a bunch of sentient bugs, in the armor, too. Like Just recently.

I wasn't confusing him with Psycho Man, Psycho Man is from the Microverse, and he's not a bug. I remember the piece of artwork that was posted, and he does appear a little puny, but I may have been thinking of the Fantastic Four cartoon Annihilus figure, which has a small body hidden inside the chest of the toy. Maybe that origin is unique to the cartoon. I don't think I've ever seen an episode of it.

Nice to see you back here, MSWord! Always appreciate your contributions here.

Any chance you know what the delay is with Iceman at Entertainment Earth? He's been widely available elsewhere for a while.

No idea. EE and BBTS get their shipments straight from China, I believe, so maybe Iceman got held back to go in another container. I'm sure he'll arrive soon.

At this point in my life I have so many 7" Iron Man figures (thanks to imports) that a proper Modular Armor would be my only want from DST. That's my second favorite IM suit.

I actually love the way that figure looks. I think the mask could use a little work, but it's close to what I want from a classic Green Goblin figure. If only it wasn't pre-posed. Hopefully DST revisits Goblin eventually and takes a classic approach. I know they've made two Goblins already, but both are incredibly outdated. I also think he's an iconic enough character to justify it.

Can't help but notice MSWord was quick to deny classic Iron Man, but not modern Iron Man or War Machine, which were both mentioned at the same time.

As well as no classic Iron Man.

I'm sure it will happen eventually, just not right now. We're not very far out from the release of Silver Centurion, which somewhat fills that niche.

How friggin amazing would a classic Iron Man be, on par with that Silver Centurion, which is pretty much perfect…

They’d also need to upgrade classic Thor. That figure had some very dated articulation below the waist.

Toybiz MODOK looks good on the Select shelf. He probably got displaced by the Hasbro one on your ML shelf anyway. I use TB Series 2 Thing too with Select. Actually right scale for a Silver Age Thing. The more involved paint schemes fit well with MS.

Id love to see more "classic" style characters.

Iron Man would be a good start. A comic Scarlet Witch to go woth Vision would be nice.

Starting to build a bice collection of MS X-Men. Still a few gaps to fill. Need Storm, Gambit and Colossus. So if anyone is looking to sell, Im looking to buy. Loose is good with me since I display everything

I'd love to see Select versions of Kraven, Luke Cage 80s Power-Man, Arnim Zola, Scorpion, Grand Master, and Absorbing Man
