This may be jumping the gun but we all know these are coming. There is no way for me to resist as these were my main toys growing up. I hope they stick to the box style packaging like their 50th Anniversary DC ones. Their blister cards don't have the design aesthetic the boxes do. Anticipation for them even has me getting the DC 50th ones.

For all my elderlies like me who are your 5 characters you wanted in the 70s but they never made. The Flash and Green Lanterns of the Marvel Mego world as it were. I'd have to say mine as a kid were Dr Doom, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Cyclops & Dr Octopus.

Thanks for this topic!

I can’t wait to see these.

I’ll never forget finding The Thing one Friday afternoon after school.  I hope they do Bashful Benjy again.

As far as the characters I most wanted as Megos when I was a kid, they were:

Nova (Rich Ryder)

Iron Fist

Hercules

Hawkeye

Maybe Doctor Doom. Maybe Ulik the Troll for battles with Thor.

If the Marvel Two in One issue with Stingray had come out a couple of years earlier, he would have made the list.

ROM is my favorite superhero, but he would not make for a good Mego figure IMO.

Sweet!  Great to see fellow Mego fans here.  Can't wait to get these.  I liked the DC, Monsters, Trek, and Apes figures.  But Marvel was my favorite.  I'd like to see them in the 50th boxes as well.

Five figures I really wanted as a kid in the 70's.

Doctor Doom

Black Panther

Hawkeye

Vision

Rhino

Galactus and Silver Surfer would also be up there.

Now that Marvel is coming.  I hope Mego gets a crack at the Star Wars license they passed on all those years ago.  I used to dream of Star Wars Megos.

Megos were slightly before my time (Secret Wars was my Marvel line as a kid) but I've always thought they were cool. If I were a few years older I would have been obsessed with them. Five figures I think were sorely missing from the original run:

Daredevil

Doctor Doom

Vision

Hawkeye

Black Panther

And some others that would have been cool: Scarlet Witch, Silver Surfer, Power Man, Doc Ock, and maybe Dracula. That covers most of the heavy hitters who had their own books during the Mego years or were important to team books. The new X-Men weren't really big enough sales-wise then to warrant figures, but that would have been AMAZING.

I can't wait to see which ones they make. I'm desperately hoping they make the FF in their original versions. I still have my original Thing mego and I want to add the other 3 with him. As for who I'd like to see them make that were never offered in the OG line? I'd have to go with a couple of the ones that I ended up making my own customs of way back when... like Daredevil and The Beast. There were others but I can't remember exactly who all I had made. Have a vague memory of using one of the Batman cowls for someone but I can't remember who. So, for my top 5 new additions to Marvel Megos:

Daredevil

The Beast

Doctor Doom

Wolverine

Red Skull

Honorable mentions: Ant Man, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Black Bolt, Medusa, Abomination.... I'll stop now.

I inherited my older relatives Megos, and he had just about all of the standard characters - no civilians or maskless figures. I have them proudly displayed in a glass case.

The 5 Marvels I would have added back then:

Dr. Doom

Magneto

Black Panther

Quicksilver

Scarlet Witch

The X-Men were just starting on the run that would vault them in the Marvel canon at the time. I wasn't alone in wanting X-Men Megos but it wasn't a common thing. I was an early adopter; X-Men 98 being the 1st one I remember buying off the 7-11 spinner rack. I remember trading comics with kids back then. I was nearly alone. Isn't surprising they weren't represented in Megos, but no reason they cant be now! I would def stick to mid 70s to early 80s characters.

I'm very jealous of you! The first X-Men issue I read was #147, borrowed from a friend of my older brother who graciously let me keep it after he saw how much I loved it (I still have that copy). I immediately went to 7-11 and got #176, the latest issue, off the spinner rack. Neither issue is as good or significant as #98 but we all gotta start somewhere!

@renfield75 Don't ever be jealous of someone for being older.

The bump in the thread got me excited for some reveals.  I want Green Goblin more than anyone else, but I'd happily get reissues of any of the characters.  All I have right now are Hulk and Spider-Man.  While some X-Men would make nice new additions I hope we don't get Wolverine at first, although we probably will.  I think a snowy Iceman or Colossus would be fun.  Also, I can't agree more on a green pajamas Red Skull.

From 13th Dimension

https://13thdimension.com/megos-new-marvel-line-of-figures-launching-in-december/

Mego on Thursday night announced that its long-anticipated line of Marvel superheroes will be hitting in December — at Disney stores, theme parks and, yes, online.

Not just that, the company also announced that it obtained the license to produce characters from the short-lived, cult-favorite 1970s comics company Atlas Comics, which opened for business 50 years ago.

You can read more about the Atlas deal here but here’s Mego Museum Maven Brian Heiler with the Marvel lowdown, which is also detailed in a YouTube video he posted Thursday night:

“Mego revealed that the upcoming Marvel waves will be exclusive to Disney stores, theme parks, and the Disney website,” Brian said. “Each series will consist of four Megos in their classic window boxes. Wave 1 of the Marvel line is expected to ship in December 2024, and four waves are scheduled for 2025, bringing a total of 20 Marvel Mego figures in the coming months. Disney will reveal characters in the coming weeks.”

While I'm sure I'll get Thor if they make him, I admit I'm more excited about the Atlas Comics characters being done.

I absolutely wore my Megos out. I had Star Trek, POA, DC, Marvel, Action Jackson, Starsky and Hutch....Man they were they go to toy line when I was a kid. I have avoided buying the new stuff for budget reasons but man these might be hard to resist. I would want the following:

Red Skull

Loki

Dr. Doom

Black Panther

Black Widow

Hawkeye

I could go on and on really....
