(I’ve had a freelance contract with Marvel for quite a few years. I’ve written a bit for them, and I’m on the Collected Editions team. Not bragging; just clarifying.)
Oh, that is cool! Could you please ask whoever might know if we will ever get Marvel Team-up Omnibuses and/or Epic Collections? Please and thank you!
@hulkster1 The real question is why won't Marvel color grade their Silver and Bronze age reprints for modern paper and/or use off white matte paper. Their essentials are so contrasty and the colors glare out into space and don't match the color's intent of the original comics even remotely. Look to Fantagraphics Barks reprints to see how its done well. Both Marvel and DC are negligent caretakers of their own legacy.
I'm honestly more interested to hear that you're on the Collected Editions team! Love me some Epics and the occasional Omni.
I’m with you. Epics, Omnis, and Masterworks all have much to offer. Things have changed SO MUCH since the success of the films and Disney’s acquiring Marvel. Where once we had tons more freedom to suggest runs that we would like to see collected, now the vast majority is dictated by the movies, shows, and company-wide events. All which makes sense…
But at the cost of a lot of fun.

I will ask for sure. 🙂 In fact, hold on…
I’ll let you know when I hear. As to what I can tell you… I have to wait and see!
But between you and me, we have our final MARVEL TWO IN ONE Masterwork coming out, as well as the first MTIO Omnibus, not to mention Epics. I would be beyond shocked if we don’t get Team-Up as either Epics or Omnis or both.

That, my friend, ain’t my department at all. Sorry I’m not much help here. That’s the Restoration Department.
I do know that paper type and quality is the topic of much discussion on both fan boards and in-house. Believe me, your concerns are valid and well known.

Every time I hear rumors of a new character getting a show or movie in the MCU, my first thought is always "hmm, could we start getting some Epics of their stuff then?" 🙂
@hulkster1 LOL. Wasn't really asking so much as curious how much it is brought up in the circles of people that do the work. Not really expecting Taschen level reprints. (But have you seen those? My lord!) They don't even really have to use better paper just take the cue from Taschen; off white Matte paper. If they just did that that be sooo much better. Not asking Taschen level care.
Epic Collections are my favorite thing. I find the Omnibus Editions too unwieldy and awkward to try to read in bed at night. Epic Collections are perfect, so those are what I personally pick up.
And speaking of which (in relation to the characters in this wave), I'm glad to see that they'll now be releasing the ROM series in Epic Collections. I picked up the first Omnibus, but that was it. I'll definitely be getting the Epics though. It also makes me hopeful Micronauts Epic Collections will follow suit.
I just started getting into Epics last year. First time I've bought comics in physical form (other than the stray omnibus) in about 15 years. I've now got ten epics and counting. They really are the ideal form of collection for me, and I love the extras included on the backend. So, great job @hulkster1 and the rest of the Epic/Collected Editions team! You pulled me back in.

They are: https://www.amazon.com/MICRONAUTS-EPIC-COLLECTION-ORIGINAL-MARVEL/dp/130296061X
Only thing I might caution, if you're really into either series, is what ended up happening with Master of Kung Fu: Marvel licensed the property back and put the whole series in omni format, but lost it again after only putting out two of the Epics. At least conceivable it might happen here with the Rom and Micronauts Epics, which is why I bought all the omnis even though it's not my preferred format.
I must have missed the solicits for that, or have they not been solicited yet?
EDIT: I see. Amazon. So they haven’t made it to the Marvel Previews catalog yet.
Yeah, given the July date, they probably won't b solicited until April-ish. But Penguin Random House and Amazon have listings that go beyond the solicits, and the youtube channel Near Mint Condition often gets lists before even the full PRH catalog comes out every six months or so, direct from Marvel. In fact, I think the next catalog is out in March, so possibly they could be doing another round in the next couple of weeks. The last list went through September this year, so I would think all of that info is out on PRH and Amazon by now.
So happy about Rom! Very happy to hear that he’s selling well and that Galador is still around. I was worried that they were wiped out except for Ikon. I love the Spaceknights.
