I agree, it doesn't need to be about articulation, but there should be a trade off if not. New sculpt, with unique details if the character calls for it.

Oh for sure that... they can't just release a normal Marvel Legends figure and charge $50+ for it.

Maximum Hulk hit my Pile of Loot at BBTS today, but I'm in no hurry to have him shipped. That tells me all I need to know about my decision to buy the figure in the first place.

I really don’t think I’d need a Maximum Iron Man. Which armor do you even do? Sure, one of them could get the full articulation treatment, but then I’d want them all to get it. I’d love for this format to focus on characters that would benefit from it the most. Max articulation, useful accessories like alternate heads and hands.

I’d like a Maximum Classic Iron Man. He could come with swappable feet, one normal and one with roller skates. Several heads, one classic helmet, one helmet with nose, one Rhodey unmasked and one Tony head completely $hit face plastered. Accessories could be repulsar rays, jet flames for boots ad a bottle of JD.

HAH I feel like we already have those accessories! Maybe not the tanked head, but probably something that's close enough. The Secret Wars version came with roller skates. I think the only thing you listed that doesn't exist is the helmet with the nose.

Actually I think the nose came on the 2nd head with 80th Iron Man. So they even have it!

The 80th "nose" head is the Alex Ross version which looks someone pinched him between the eyes to try and create a nose. I want a comic accurate version with the triangle nose. They put that in a Maximum Iron Man and I'm buying one.

I would buy a Maximum Extremis with removable armor.

I like the thought of deluxe figures and all that, and Spider-Man qualified as "Maximum" in terms of accessories and sculpt/articulation, but since Hulk seems more "Heightened" than Maximum, it feels like the line is already sliding. I don't think the excitement will be there for "Adequate" Iron Man, "Pretty Decent" Deadpool and "Somehow Palpatine Returned" Wolverine.

I would probably still out for a Punisher if they did him well. I wouldn't need toe joints. But it would be cool to get one with like 3 or 4 heads and maybe removable combat armor and swappable arms and jacket like mentioned above. While I think it would also be cool to get him with Matrix levels of guns, I have a ton that I bought from multiple other sources that work really well, and are probably better quality then Hasbro would do, with their rubbery plastic. Valaverse, Marauder Gun Runners, a few more small etsy stores... I have a bunch of different guns of all types, colors, and sizes. And I feel like Hasbro would just give us the same gummy mess they do with the rest of them. So a medium sized arsenal would be cool, but I'm not jonesing for it. I would rather have just a really good Punisher figure. The 2 pack one looks cool, but looks about the same as the one I painted of the reaper buck version from way back when. And i also have like 4 different versions of that figure. While they're good, I really want a very well done jacket or combat vest version.

Got my Maximum Hulk today, I bought two so I can custom paint the pants on one of them, and leave the other as it is.

Received my Maximum Hulk yesterday and finally got around to opening him this morning.    I have to say to dislike both alternate heads.   The McGuiness screaming head is too specific for me to ever display and the closed mouth portrait just looks ridiculous.    His teeth on that head are more than twice the size of the teeth on the Keown head.   So, those go in a box, unlikely to be seen again.     Luckily I'm a huge fan of the Keown run and that head works for me, so I'm happy enough with that.

So, I will say though, that I wish they had gone a different route with the pants since Keown's Hulk was pictured in Blue or Brown pants as often as purple - and I have previous versions in purple pants.

Or - if the Maximum is supposed to be the definitive Hulk figure -  and he does have purple pants more often than anything elese across all appearances -  then have a more standard Byrne/Buscema head for this figure and save the Keown head for a version that could have different pants.

The rubber chest is definitely different.   It is interesting to be able to get Hulk into some new poses,  but as many others have expressed,  there is trepidation about how well this will hold up over time,  especially with frequent stress under multiple posing and reposing efforts.

Still given the nature of pricing these days I have to say that the $58 I paid for this guy seems much more in line with 'normal' pricing than the $50 for that Maximum Spider-Man.

Honestly the figure looks great standing on my desk at present.

I don't think Maximum figures are meant to be definitive figures. The term "definitive" may, ironically, be too subjective. Too specific. I think these Max figures are meant to be specific, but it seems like they are focusing on a particular era. I don't know if there's really a pattern yet, but to get a '90s specific Spidey, with calls back to McFarlane and Erik Larson art, and a Hulk with artist specific heads depicting Keown, McGuinness, Deodato... it seems like the pattern is leading towards '90s looks. We'll see when Deadpool comes out.

Not a Hulk guy, but I'd buy the Gary Frank inspired Marvel Super Heroes videogame version that was similar neon green to the Maximum version.  I wasn't very impressed with any of the heads on this Maximum one, and folks on Reddit were showing where the rubberized torso was already starting to fray under the armpits on him.  Awkwardly posed clapping isn't that important to me personally.

Anyone who already has fraying rubber on their Maximum Hulk was deliberately - and likely aggressively 0  overworking those joints to "prove" the overlay wouldn't hold up.    There's no way it's fraying already under normal wear and tear
