Got my 2 Spider-Men. No paint or quality issues, that you'll see magnified on the socials. Poses like a dream and it's the ideal Peter I've waited for. A beyond worthy successor to Spider-Man Classics Series 12 Spidey.
It’s only “magnified” if it didn’t happen to your copy.
Or it's magnified because it's the same 3 images being posted across multiple platforms, by people who do not even own the figure, to rage farm engagement.
Do better.
I don’t need to. I’ve seen different figures posted different places with problems that a $50 figure shouldn’t have. Yours didn’t? Great! But don’t act like the people that didn’t get as lucky don’t have valid complaints. Or that, since it didn’t happen to you, it’s being blown out of proportion.
I was going to say that you're not so stupid as to fall for the inflated hysteria around this figure, but then, unprompted, you mentioned the price, and it's clear where your inane ramblings originate from.
Man, you are certainly condescending. I will give you that. But you’re not quite as superior to others as you try to be.
I’ve mentioned the price before. I can’t help it if you missed it. It’s hardly a secret I think it’s overpriced. At that price, it’s not worth it to me. Even if the QC was perfect. Doesn’t matter. But I think it’s foolish to dismiss problems that others have simply because you don’t have them.
Also, I think hysteria is overstating the situation. I for one am not too bothered by passing on this. Off the top of my head, I have at least 5 ML Spider-Man figures in the regular costume. I’ll be ok. But I don’t want this line to start a trend of locking popular characters into a $50+ price point. Eventually they’ll hit one that I do want. And I’m not sure I can justify the price to myself. Except for the Merged Hulk. It would have to be an egregiously over-inflated price for me to pass on that.
If I'm not mistaken, you're one of those people who think they're entitled to get sexy female toys under the guise of "but I just want accuracy!!", so I absolutely think you are degenerate-adjacent from the go!
I also think you're completely disingenuous as you keep tip toeing around the well known hysteria this figure has generated, but it seems that is intentional.
As stated, there's the same 3 images spread around multiple social media sites, latched on to the band wagon of people who have some innate need or obsession for this figure to do poorly. The quality issues are not widespread, and most of the examples of quality complaints I've seen are followed by some insane expectation that Hasbro should have done a complete overhaul of their manufacturing process and built brand new factories with cutting edge technology because "the pwice is high, how can they justify this bit of paint being missed deep into his ab!!!". Hasbro has been manufacturing their figures the same way for nearly two decades, and one high priced figure that makes you clutch your pearls, is not going to change the way in which they do it, as you well know. At this point if you are not aware of potential for quality issues, limited such as this case, or widespread as other releases, you're fooling yourself and actively choosing to get angry and unreasonable. They are making mass produced toys in the same places they've always made their mass produced toys.
I very rarely see you, and certain other people, come here to simply talk about figures. You only pipe up when there's something you can complain about, a chorus of terminal dissenters. If this hobby is causing you such misery, as it seems to be for the past few years, put your energy into something else. In the meantime, I'm happy to continue to disrupt the echo chamber of unrest you seem so intent on creating, with gusto, abrasiveness and the contempt you so deserve!
We get it, you 2. Agree to disagree or move the huggin and kissin to PMs.
To the earlier point about locking A-List characters (or classic costumes) behind the Maximum banner... that's totally valid. If we only ever saw red and blue Spidey or tiger stripe Wolverine released as Maximum, that would suck. For people on both sides. Fortunately, if the leaks are to be believed, there is another Secret Wars wave with probably a blue/red Spider-Man in it. Likely on the AF15 body.
I wouldn't have a problem with the Maximum Spider-Man body being used in the main line for Spider-Man. If the message from Hasbro is essentially "look, you got this new figure with a pretty specific look. We thank you for supporting that. We've heard the fans and are releasing a more bare-bones version with some hands and maybe a head. For everyone who got the Maximum, you have the option of all the accessories and the webshooters and all the hands will be compatible with this new release." You won't be able to get a McFarlane version outside of Maximum, but there is additional value in having gotten the more expensive release. Frankly, any subsequent Spider-Man that Legends releases that isn't on par with this or using this new body will be sort of underwhelming.
Enforcer I can't take you seriously with this turned a new leaf, voice of reason position 😭

I know, sometimes I can't even stand it myself 😉

lmao
The only hysteria I see here is definitely coming from you. I don’t haunt social media all day, so I don’t know what people are saying on other sites. But given Hasbro’s track record (see new Transformers plastic yellowing sometimes even before they’re opened for one example) I’m perfectly willing to expect QC issues. I’ve bought these things, I know there are issues. For a higher price, I expect less issues. And I’m not going to tell people who said they have had issues that they are wrong.
I am degenerate! Lol! But not for the reasons you imply. You don’t agree with page accuracy, that’s fine. Do the no yellow boots for X-Factor Jean Grey bother you? Because to me it’s the same kind of issue. But I am curious what my degeneracy has to do with Maximum Spider-Man. Unless you were just attempting a personal attack.
You can continue to disrupt whatever you feel you need to, if you need a cause to champion. I’m ok with it.
Oh good, the last word was needed. Seriously, fire him a PM if you want to debate the real reason you are apparently a degenerate. What ever the fuck that means. No, I don't care or want to know or read about it here.
The lack of boots on Jean is a piss-off. Not relevant to the conversation about Spider-Man's price vs random factory issues. 2 different groups making those mistakes. It is still a piss off. Different issue.

Yes, i responded to the post that felt like a personal attack before I read the rest of the thread. If you’re a mod, I apologize.
The degenerate comment was a joke. I thought the *lol* was a clue.
I am not getting into a PM conversation with this person. I can’t think of a bigger waste of time.
@magnusprimal I am no mod. No power at all... you can continue to bicker all you want. Neither of you are interested in an actual debate, it's just a catfight. So, on the subject of thinking of bigger wastes of time...
I only haunt a small pocket of social media - and I can tell you that the factory issues are quite rare, but exist. The price will always be a stumbling point for people, which is fine. They are not mass producing sloppy shit at this price point. It's standard factory output, and hopefully people are able to inspect before they buy or return unopened if there are glaring issues. If not - yep, super annoying. Definitely not a common problem, at all. Quite rare.
That said, this thread did make me run downstairs and re-inspect my 3 Maximum Spider-Men, and one WAS missing several millimeters of webline paint on his chest. Luckily, I have one of those Macron fine paint pens and added it. Should I have to? No, not ideally. Now, I can't find where I touched it up and yeah I still love all 3. They are great. I don't like the price, but I love having essentially the Spider-Man I've wanted since 2001 Spider-Man Classics. This is it. They did it.
Yes, Xorn gets quite personal from time to time... I wish I could say it was one of his charms. Nothing is gained for either of you in this back and forth.
We're using true statements, I'm condescending, they're a creep. Case and point, as usual, they've presented a straw man where they equivalate missing yellow booties with their entitlement for sexier toys, under their flailing banner of "buh y no accurate double standard i want the boobies!!!!". I don't care if it get's personal, they're not someone I rate particularly well due to things they've said in the past. And I'm definitely not someone they hold in high estimations, which doesn't bother me. They knew what they were doing when they decided to pick at my first post in relation to getting the Maximum Spidey, so I'm more than happy to follow the play book while they now lament they're "wasting their time". They've been here before and they won't be able to help themselves when it inevitably happens again. If you find this upsetting Enforcer, or if you feel the need to step in, I'd suggest just let it runs it's course. They eventually run out of steam, and they'll go back to the shadows until the next opportunity to be a full time Hasbro-anti presents itself.
But I don't wanna!
@enforcer glad you could fix your copy. I’m also glad that it seems it’s not a widespread problem. I’m still not a huge fan of the Maximum series concept, but it’s here and we’ll see how it goes.
Just imagining all the possibilities that could come with a “MAXIMUM DOOM” is tantalizing.
boot jets, Pistol with firing blast, ionic blade,
Doom saw:
alternate unmasked heads: Doombot, Kristoff, Prince Rudolfo,
even a time platform would be cool.

Man... you definitely described a Maximum figure I would probably have to buy... a truly Maximum Doom could actually be worth the money.
The one thing I’ve been wondering about this Maximum line is in opposition to this, Hasbro should just do an All Star line with the Alisters if they want to keep them in rotation. I remember DCUC did an allstar line that would always put out previous figures of their most popular character at pretty much then same price point. No BAFs. So the Maximum line can come with all the bells and whistles at the higher price point. And the “AllStar” line can just give us poor plebs the normal msrp version. Maybe come with a different base headsculpt to differentiate it more from its Max version or slightly different coloring. And rotate the same figures a year or two apart so Hasbro can still take advantage of FOMO. Lol.
