If they did a ball joint at the waist and torso, they could intend for the figure to be popped apart at the waist. Just swap for the new belt and you're golden. This is Hasbro though, so who knows if they'll get with the times.
I really hope the next Kitty Pryde figure actually has some thought put into her design so she can "phase" easily - pop-apart pieces, legs that separate at the thigh cut, an alt torso that is cut in half but mountable (like Spot's Spidey effects). Something FUN and ingrained in the design so I don't need to break her forever.
Definitely! Figures from Valaverse and Jada toys are easy enough to pop apart at the torso while having usability way above Legends. Applying it to characters like Kitty is kind of genius, too.
I could see swappable eyes being feasible. The pegs could be pretty hefty, given the size of the eyes on this style of Spidey. (Were the new Kang's swappable faces any good? I didn't get it.) I'd much rather "definitive" releases like this come with accessories that enhance the base figure, rather than effect parts that we could get with other associated characters.
Anyone think they haven't released the price yet so they can read the dialogue on social media and forums and see how much they think they can get away with? Half kidding.
Lokking forward to more reveals in this line.
I think the X-Men characters that would benefit the most of the Maximum treatment are Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, Gambit, Nightcrawler and of course, Psylocke.
For my girl Betsy what I would like to see is:
the amazing new hyper articulated body with accurate Jim Lee deco.
3 heads: Jim Lee purple haired one, Crimson Dawn with white eyes, black swooped hair for a Kwannon option.
many hands: fists, telepath pose hands, knife holding hands and ninja hands. two of each.
small and big psychic knife
tk katana
two regular katanas
new butterfly effect
Jay C reported from his latest webcast on Youtube that he's heard the third character in the Maximum line will be Deadpool. No specification on whether that's film or comic, but I'd assume comic. I have enough accessories from my myriad Deadpools already, so I don't know that I'll be that enticed by this one. Hulk is supposedly second, for those who didn't already know.
The first offering leaves me really underwhelmed, as the base figure just doesn't seem all that desirable to me aesthetically, and the web effects are things i'd happily try fabricating myself. If it was more definitively 'Bagley' in appearance to my eyes then I'd feel more compelled but i'm also firm on the basis that these should be no more than £35 for Spidey or £50 for a Maximum 'Hulk-sized' character.
Posted by Dan and says "coming Thursday". I'm assuming the preorder is. Like usual they leave us to speculate on the price for a few more days.
Woot Woot. I will be ready for the pre-order. Sucks it's the same week as Transformers $300 HasLab, but this is my dream Spider-man so will prioritize. Looks sensational....or Amazing to me. I heard Deadpool too, but think it's movie based. Easy pass, but if it's comic well then it's 3/3 on the Maximum Line 😀
JayC at MarvelousNews.com says he expects this to be priced at between $49.99-$59.99 USD. That would somewhat jive with the rumored $72.99 Canadian dollars price.
I was originally willing to bite at $50 but have since changed my mind. This is easily the best Spider-Man that Hasbro has made, but there's just no way it's worth the cost of 2 standard figures or more. If it's more than $39.99 then I think that I'm out... so I'm probably out. I think that's where I'm going to draw the line.
Sure it's got a ton of accessories, but I know how that will work out for me and that's most being thrown in a bin never to be seen again. I almost never swap out heads or hands after I have the figure. I usually choose whichever I want when I first open it and then the only way that the others get used is for kitbashes or customs later for characters that Hasbro refuses to make.
If they price this at even above $50 USD then they deserve whatever fan backlash comes their way. I've decided that I'm not willing to even pay that, even though I do actually want the figure. There's just not enough here to justify that price point to me. That's my opinion.
@stephenwdavis same. It’s not just that the figure isn’t worth $50 due those extra accessories, but that we should be able to get two figures for the price they are now charging for one main character. I think $40 was my limit. Not that I cant afford it- I haven’t bought a standard Spiderman in a very long time. I’m more offended than anything.
I can't remember if this is a mainline release or fan channel? Either way, people can play the long game and wait for the eventual price drops to start hitting. Then there's always a chance it could drop into one of the bargain outlet stores. Of course, I would hazard to think if that were to happen, it would be the death of the line.
I thought this was fan channel. I remember thinking it was an odd choice for an all A-Listers line.
Pete looks zonked out of his mind. Elon's dealer met him in the back alley before his shift at the Bugle.
