Yeah it looks like it's just these two mainline comic BAF waves so far. I bet they will both carry whatever the next movie tie-in wave is, along with all the other ML product they still have.
That worries me if comic ML waves won’t be at mass retail anymore. Hope it’s just an outlier for these two waves (Mindless Ones and Void). These happen to be my most anticipated waves.
That Target and Walmart aren't going to be carrying as many Legends waves isn't terribly surprising based upon how they've performed for their stores.
I live in a county of of right around 700,000 people. My local stores are in a town of about 80,000 - but there are multiple other Super Targets and Super Walmarts with a 10-15 minute drive.
My Target has been clearancing out everything super fast - like within a few weeks of release. There have been multiple waves that they haven't stocked at all, and for some waves they only chose to offer certain figures at my local store. The most perplexing choice was only stocking a case of Baron Von Strucker from that particular Avengers wave - very odd choice. Really, they chose him over Cap, for example? They never stocked the Ch'od X-Men wave or the exclusive Tracksuit Mafia figures. It's not likely that I missed them since I go at least a couple of times per week.
Until very recently when they finally stocked the Quantumania wave (which I feel like I received in APRIL from BBTS), my local Walmart hadn't stocked any Legends since the Black Panther Legacy wave. Target had already clearanced that Quantumania wave out completely before Walmart even put it on the shevles. Just in the last 2 weeks they've also now stocked the Marvels wave and the retro Spidey wave, once again after they'd already been clearanced out by Target. Before this past month it had been nearly 2 years since I'd seen new Legends on the shelf at my Walmart and I go at least twice per week. They've been doing the basically the same for DC Multiverse. They've had the same Future State Batman and Duke Thomas Batman on the shelves for a VERY, VERY long time and refuse to stock anything else until those are gone, I guess.
I've noticed that my local Best Buy and Gamestop have mostly stopped carrying these figures also. If they ever get any in, it's usually just one case of a wave. The last wave I saw in abundance at my Best Buy was the Multiverse of Madness wave and for Gamestop it's usually their own exclusives. They're still clearancing out Multiverse of Madness and the retro carded Lokis at my local Gamestop.
I fully switched to online ordering a few years ago because I found that was the only way I'd be likely to get what I wanted. Now the only figures that I buy at retail are once they hit the 50-70% clearance prices. So, I'm one very minuscule part of the problem for brick and mortar retail carrying this stuff.
The Hasbro team attempted to assuage collector fears that canonical MLs were going to be disappearing from brick-and-mortar retail after the announcement that the Mindless One wave wasn’t being supported. This is my first hearing that the Void wave will face the same set of circumstances. It’s been feast or famine for retailers considering the current MCU nadir, with gluts of everything (comic or movie-based) clogging shelves since the Eternals wave. Even some X-Men line-ups are languishing in stores. I’ve always understood that the films carried the line, but I’d previously believed the percentage of MCU to comic canon fans to be far closer in parity. I may have been wrong in my assessments.
Does make me wonder, why go back to plastic packaging if these aren't actually going to be on store pegs? Maybe GameStop/TRU (in Canada) are still carrying them?
Seems like the waves that will be in stores, are the newer non B.A.F. carded variety (X-Men '97, NWH, Spider-Verse, etc.).
Overall, some questionable decisions. But I would imagine they are doing whatever they can to keep the line profitable.
To keep on topic, Amazon pushed out my DD to next week and Luke Cage to "TBD"...great 😐
^Yes, on topic and on that note, BBTS is pre-processing the Mindless Ones wave.
Very excited!

Really? Oh, for the love of... why even bother giving a release date if they're just going to ignore it and flail our already-abused wallets even more?!
@thor-el Agreed. I was honestly really looking forward to a couple months break after the onslaught of the Avengers Earth's Mightiest releases and wave after wave of Legends .... and then they ship these two+ months ahead of the scheduled arrival time. And I'm guessing now that the Void wave will ship before year end as well.
I don't know what product they plan to have on shelves in 2024...
Got Luke, Iron Man, Fist Ninja and DD this week. Ninja and DD are close to perfect, as far as toys at this pricepoint go. I'm happy to have Luke in this costume, finally, but yes, the holes at the shoulder are super glaring. Lack of ab crunch is annoying but I can overlook it. Iron Man, no real thoughts, as I only bought it for the BAF piece.
I just got my Luke and am probably sticking with the ToyBiz version. Aside from the glaring arm-holes, the expression is off and the sleeves aren't as well sculpted as the TB version (IMO, of course). These recent waves are mostly snooze-fests for me, wrong costumes, uncompelling BAFs and too many characters I either don't know / care about or need another version of (stop trying to make all these Namors happen).
@thor-el lol Yup, and while I hear you, I'm ecstatic that the wait was a short one.
I had only pre-ordered Luke, Clea, and Iron Man from this wave but I am not in a position to be ready for more figures this soon, especially with the HasLab in progress. So I cancelled Clea and Iron Man. Just Luke I can handle right now.

Be careful, Clea and Blade are likely going to be the ones that become hard to obtain after release. Well, at least in my estimation. Not to evoke any feelings of FOMO, but just a caution you likely thought of in the doing…
Thanks, but it's okay. I don't have any real attachment to Clea anyway so I won't miss her.
Lady Bullseye was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and has been delayed to Sunday (from Amazon).
