If they were doing a one off chest piece for Luke to allow the open shirt why didn’t they just sculpt his shirt with the chest piece. Would solve the articulation and arm hole problem.
Cage, DD, Fist, and Iron Man should arrive tomorrow. LB this week, but Blade and Clea still sched for Nov 2.
Okay, so we knew going in there would be at least two Luke Cage issues: lack of ab crunch and the arm holes in the shirt. Well, those arm holes are way bigger than I expected. The size looks the same as the promo pics, but they also chose poses so it's not as noticeable.
Lady Bullseye has no up-down wrists.
Luke has a ball joint where the torso and pants meet. It should basically function the same as an ab crunch.
@tsi I haven't tried heating him up yet to see if it will help, but not much movement right out of the box. It could be my figure being overly tight.
Ah, window packaging. Nice to have these in hand. By these, I mean Cage, DD, Fist, and Iron Man, via Amazon.
Iron Man is fine, nothing remarkable. I like the flourish on the gold parts of his armor, almost like patina. He’ll just get added to the armory and be done.
Didn’t realize the Fist’s place in the MU. The box tells me they were created by Matt and Elektra to combat the Hand. I gotta get my hands on this Zdarsky run. Highlight on this figure is the skull head, which is a separate piece from the hood, and can display on its own. No peg holes from the hood, just a bad ass skull head. Also comes with wrapped fists if you wanna donate to Daredevil.
Speaking of, this figure is just OK. He looks great but there are minor issues. The sculpted collar (attached to the torso) gets in the way of the beard, limiting articulation somewhat. The knees are broken up in a funny way, I almost wish they’d taken the approach of Black Series BoBF Boba Fett or Ahsoka. It’s not the end of the world, just a little ugly. Thought he might be small, but he’s the same height as 3pk Daredevil on the RYV body.
Finally Luke Cage, Power Man, Hero for Hire. Been wanting an updated version of this costume, and this one is also just OK. Not mind blowing, but does the trick. He looks like an entirely new sculpt. The torso articulation is pretty limited. The gaps in his shirt where the arms come out are conspicuous. The black pants are fine, but I can’t believe they didn’t give him swivels at the boot cut. He also looked small, but when comparing with other figures, he’s the appropriate height. Just not super impressive.
Still awaiting Clea and Blade ETA, and Lady Bullseye should be shipped this week, though some of my dates have shifted yet again. Lots to look forward to, and lots to enjoy in the meantime.

Same. I didn't know anything about the Fist or these iterations of Matt and Elektra, so I started reading the Zdarsky run, but got distracted. Need to get back to it so I can appreciate the figures a bit more. Heck, I never read the DD comics with Lady Bullseye either, so I've got to get on that as well. I'm finding it hard to catch up since I stopped reading regularly over 15 years ago.

I did read the issues where Lady Bullseye was introduced. I think that was Brubaker's run. Nothing really remarkable about the character that you can't find on a wiki page. Always liked her ambiguous design (is it skin? is it Kabuki make up? is it both?) and I'm glad she finally got a figure.
So far only Lady Bullseye has shipped for me.
DD & Cage are scheduled to deliver tomorrow. But I would guess that would be quite difficult since they haven't shipped yet...

I agree with this assessment - although I was very fond of Brubaker's Daredevil in general, so I like the character for that.
But arguably her best appearance was in the Hulu Hit Monkey show. I really enjoyed that show and thought the use of Lady Bullseye there was fun. And that makes me want the figure even more.

I was going to make the same point about her appearance in Hit-Monkey until I scrolled to your post! Hard second on this - the show in general is great, and she made an impression. I'm going to rewatch in honor of her being on the way.

What?? I know you know your way around these figures, but are you 100% sure? That seems like a really silly design flaw. I know not everyone loves them/thinks they're necessary, but obviously it should be included when there is an easy place to hide it!

Yeap, just double checked. The black peg from the upper calf is glued into the socket of the yellow boot. The boot cuff even looks like a separate piece from the lower calf, and there’s still no movement down there. I had such high hopes for Cage, but he really is flawed.
Another thing I noticed, I’ve had a chance to compare Matt and Elektra. Their shades of red are not a match. They’re close, but hers is a deeper red, Matt’s leans a bit more pink. That’s unfortunate but not really surprising since they’re not in the same wave. Oddly, Fist might be a closer match, but they all seem to be just a hair different. Fist is actually closest to 3pk DD. In daylight, it’s just barely visible; with indoor lighting, it should be barely noticeable if at all.
Sorry to spam with so many observations, but as I mess with them, I notice more.
Luke has such a blank stare. He’s very expressionless. That’s one more head sculpt Toy Biz still wins at. Yes, the boots have no swivel, but the ankles have the best lunge motion I’ve seen in recent Legends. Glad to see them improving in that area.
Here’s a quick pic:
You're not wrong about that thousand yard stare, @normdapito. Looks like Luke is making a grocery list in his head while everyone else is ready for battle. Ironic, considering that iteration of Luke has such a big personality. Wish they gave him either a bit of a smirk or some widened/angry eyes at least.
