Strange doesn't have many notable characters. It's generally just been him, Clea, Wong, The Ancient One, Dormammu and Mordo.
Everyone knows you rate a character's relevance by whether or not they had a Slurpee cup back in the day.
To be honest I think the majority of Dr Strange interested collectors would consider their Strange portion of the shelf finished with Strange, Dormammu, Clea, Mordo, Ancient One, Wong, Nightmare, Umar and Shuma Gorath. Personally I'd throw in the modern characters Bats and Kushala the Demon Rider as characters I'd happily display. Mephisto and Satanish as well but they are less specific to Dr Strange.
Agreed, @derrabbi. I'm not even a big Dr. Strange fan, but I'd definitely buy comic versions of Mordo, Wong, Nightmare and possibly an Ancient One. I'd pass on Shuma and Umar, but if I had been more invested in the Dr. Strange comics, I imagine that would round out my shelf (considering we already got Rintrah, of course).
Do we consider it having got a Rintrah? I'm not sure. What's everyone's consensus? We sorta got a Cosmo

Β
Good question. Of course, I built and have kept Rintrah, but I don't count it as canon. At the risk of sounding like a βFurryβ enthusiast, we NEED an 'in-the-buck' Rintrah.
I'm ok with my Cosmo BAF as a suitable comic stand-in, buuuut I'd be okay with another. Although I'm not sure what would distinguish a comic Cosmo from what we have. Maybe I'll do a deep-dive comparison between the toy and some panels...
Β
I'm both happy to use both Cosmo and Rintrah as comic stand-ins, even though in general I've become pretty averse to trying to make MCU figures fit in my comic collection. Cosmo works better than Rintrah, who definitely still needs a proper comic version.
Cosmo just so expensive still. I should have bought the wave and sold off the figures like usual but that was too hard to do with a wave I didn't want any considering I don't collect MCU.
I got Luke Cage a couple of days ago from Amazon. Pretty cool figure. Now I'm really jonesing for a new classic Iron Fist.
Just got my Fist DD today, and boy are his legs gummy. Been noticing that all the recent releases starting with the 60ths (maybe even a wave earlier?) have all been extra gummy. Haven't opened the X-Men 97 yet but have heard the same.
Been getting this wave piecemeal from Amazon the past few days. I am so, so, sooooo biased because Matty's my favorite character but Fist Daredevil might be my favorite figure of the year. Got a good one with great paint and no gummy joints and he's just exactly what I wanted. The ninja is cool too but I got one with a really stuck midsection joint.Β
Didn't think I needed another Iron Man but I really do like the arcane runes on the armor, very striking. Weirdly this is gonna be one I keep on display a lot.Β
Luke's so cool. The yellows are a little flat on mine but can't say anything bad about the figure - great to have his classic look.Β
Lady Bullseye - weirdly very toyetic, just really fun to pose. I was psyched to have her but like her even more than expected.Β
Waiting on Clea (who has been on my top ten list since I started collecting) and Blade. I love the Blade we got a few years back so I'm not in a rush for a new one but looking forward to having him whenever he shows up.Β
Lady Bullseye should be delivered today! Canβt wait! She and Clea are also big wants from this wave, which has so far been mostly winners!Β
I had so many of those cups! I would kill to find them again! Man I miss the '70's sometimes.....Strange doesn't have many notable characters. It's generally just been him, Clea, Wong, The Ancient One, Dormammu and Mordo.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Benty will make a better head sculpt. π

Hey--don't push him; he has to do a comic Agatha first! 😉Β

Yeah... I loved getting those as a kid.Β Β I've been slowly building back a collection of them.Β Β I have 25 of them displayed in my room currently but there are still a couple dozen I want to add.
Β
It's a little funny that Clea got a cup, considering only a handful of females made it into the line,Β but the selection at the time was.... oddΒ Β -Β Black Widow, Crystal, Invisible Woman, Medusa, Red Sonja, Scarlet Witch, Thundra and Valkyrie were the others.Β Β No Wasp seems like a peculiar slight....Β Tigra had just burst on the scene at that time, so kind of surprising she wasn't included.Β Β Β Β Β These came out in 1975 or 1976 I think - so the all new X-Men hadn't caught fire yetΒ - so no Storm, no Wolverine, no Nightcrawler.Β Β
Β
Such a fun way to keep kids coming back for Slurpees.Β Β 7-11 carried comic books at the time as well and I remember saving my allowance (50 whole cents) to get two comics and my dad would spring for the Slurpee.

I received my wave from BBTS today. I got everybody except Daredevil and got 2 Fist Ninjas instead.
Clea is one of my favorite figures of the year. She's just outstanding all around.
Lady Bullseye is probably my next favorite. Hasbro has been knocking it out of the park on the ladies recently!
Mindless One is a very solid BAF and very glad to have one. Will definitely be looking for an opportunity to build another at some point.
Fist Ninja is great but a little smaller than I expected. The skull head is super dope!! I'm glad that I got an extra because I can definitely see using this on a custom or kitbash.
Luke is fine, but a little underwhelming - he looks very plain in hand compared to these other figures and the coloring on mine seems a little off. The articulation is ok, I think that it could have been better but it's not as bad as I was worried that it would be. It's still definitely the best Luke we've gotten from Hasbro, and will finally dethrone the Toy Biz version in my display.
I like the black and gold Gamerverse Iron Man more than I thought that I would. It gives off some minor Mainframe vibes from the A-Next days, although it seems a little slender - I would have liked the armor to have been a little bulkier.Β
I have mixed feelings on Blade. I really like the body, but not a big fan of the head sculpt. I'm not convinced this is an upgrade over the one from the Man-Thing wave. This figure did come with several useful accessories, though - which is very nice. It's just too bad that an alternate head wasn't one of them. I might end up doing a head swap onto this body and end up using it as a generic gangster thug. I still like this version of Blade better than the recent Marvel Select incarnation, though.
I skipped Daredevil because I'm not a fan of that look with the red beard. I didn't originally want the Elektra Daredevil either but ended up picking her up from Target for 50% off. That won't be an option for Matt since this wave won't ever hit retail - but maybe an Amazon sale somewhere down the line.
All in all, this is a nice solid wave and I'm thrilled that the windowed packaging is back, even though I usually open the BAF waves. I'm very happy with the job that Hasbro is doing on the comic stuff right now. The Clea figure is just fantastic and ranks right up there with M, Quentin, Moondragon, Amadeus Hulk and a few others as one of my favorite figures of the year. I like that they're still finding ways to get us previously unmade characters after all this time. After Clea the next one that I'm really looking forward to is Namorita from the Void wave.
Β
@sgtstinky yeah. I had tons of them. Would hop on my bike and take my $1 allowance to get a comic, a piece of candy, and a Slurpee nearly every week.
