Ordered DD at Hobby-Genki. Hoping Cap comes back into stock there so I can ship them together.
I *really* wish they'd included another set of clubs for DD. The all white look is not inaccurate, but it's much less interesting - a second set of red clubs with silver ends would have pushed the set over the top for me.
Unparalleled Universe has a review of Comicbook version of Cap up on YouTube, but I guess I don't have enough juice to link to it.
I watched this review yesterday. He doesn't say specifically if it's the best Cap ever because he says he's planning a second video that compares the best Caps ever, but he certainly gushes all over it throughout the review.
I have mine now, and it's certainly spectacular. Best Cap I've ever had, but I don't have the Select version. Definitely better than the 20th anniversary Legends version.
I just got my soon processing email from BBTS. I can't wait for this guy (though he'll go into my POL while I wait for Daredevil, another figure that looks great from the reviews I've seen).
I'm not sure he'll top the Legends [Daredevil] figure, but he looks great. This is one of the rare instances where I'll be adding a second version of the character to my collection. One for the Marvel shelf and another for my desk.
Okay, I was wrong.
I prefer the MAFEX version, but action figures have come a long way over the last decade. Both figures cut impressive silhouettes.
Not really sure I care about this Legends Daredevil. Twice they released him in sets with other figures. Low shoulders on this body mold also doesn't look good. He is...fine, but this iconic character deserves better.
Mafex Daredevil looks good. Can't wait to display him next to my Mafex Brown Costume Wolverine, Symbiote Costume Spider-Man, etc.
Hope we can get a Classic Moon Knight too.

The low shoulders on ML DD have never bothered me - I actually like the way it makes his traps pop. The delts could definitely be bigger though.
Mafex DD does look great. Pretty surprised he's got the height advantage on the ML. Excited to get him and (hopefully) Cap soon.
Cap was restocked around 1am EST at Hobby-Genki, saw the email when I woke up and was pleasantly surprised he was still available. I am pretty excited to be getting both Cap and DD in the same order - they both look phenomenal.
I was messing around with another Mafex yesterday (Knightfall Batman) and the butterfly joint kinda...came loose? Not sure exactly how to describe it - it feels like it slipped off of whatever it is attached to inside the torso or arm, and is now sort of rattling around in its place instead of moving smoothly. Has anyone ever had this happen? It doesn't ruin the look of the figure as its still more or less in position, but it's no longer solid and makes moving the joint a bit of a pain.
@tsi I prefer the vhs variant of the Legends Daredevil. that figure custs a nice clean silhouette with all of that black etching on his costume. Compare that to the Mafex and once again we run into this problem where the colors are barely offset from one another, its hard to make out the details in his face and torso and its just this solid red blob that leaves nothing to the imagination. if I were in a situation where I walked into a store and I saw both the VHS Daredevil and the Mafex and I had both of them hand in hand, I would not be the least bit sad of cutting the mafex figure loose.

The red shading difference on the Mafex are subtle, but they look gorgeous to me in that last review I posted above. The reviewer also noted how great the color shading variation on the Mafex is. Certainly it's not as dramatic as cel shading differences, but given that the classic costume is pretty much a single shade of red I'm not sure what Medicom could have done to vary colors beyond what they've already done.
I'm guessing you have this same complaint about the cel-shaded Legends Daredevil versus the 3-pack Daredevil?
This MAFEX Daredevil also reminds me of good old Toy Biz Spider-Man Classics Figure. Not Sure why...
Just need that roof diorama and a church wall.
Not sure why, but this brings me back to picking up the original SMC Daredevil as a kid.
I concur. 😆
@enigmaticclarity since you mentioned it the other day, the sockets on the both Cyclops heads are larger than DD's and the heads just rest on his neck. Would need blue tack or something to secure. Btw, the shading looks fantastic in hand, imo. Tremendous effort for a mass market figure.
Here's a couple quick standing upright photos with Cyclops head.
One of the biggest money grabs regarding unmasked heads occurred this week. HotToys (through Hono Studios) released a second version of tiger stripe Wolverine, this time with an unmasked head, while the first masked version hasn't reached most people yet.
Correct. I'm not a fan of the 3-pack Daredevil in the least. It's as bland as can be. The VHS variant however meets all of the qualifications of a comic accurate Daredevil that most of us have been missing from our collections. More than that, I feel like this figure should serve as an inflection point for every other toy company out there. It took Hasbro, of all companies to finally deliver a Daredevil that looks like it stepped out of the pages of the comic, regardless of who the artist is. Because at the end of the day, his costume is always covered in black shading. It's just how his costume has been portrayed over the last 60 years. Its a part of his iconography.I prefer the vhs variant of the Legends Daredevil. that figure custs a nice clean silhouette with all of that black etching on his costume. I like the VHS style shadows, but I'd rather the more generic paint job if I were to have only one version of a character. He's not always drawn with the same shadowing. Is it almost like having a figure stuck with a gritted teeth or yelling facial expression? I didn't pick up the VHS only because I didn't want to add a Hydroman at a time when I was shrinking my number of MLs. Would've bought him as a single release.
