Yep, it's a re-issue. BBTS already sold out of their pre-orders, but hopefully the Japanese retailers will start offering it soon.

Checking the Mafex subreddit it looks like a lot of Japanese retailers put them up last night (from an EST perspective) and may have already sold out. I guess my decision is made for me!
I'm hoping this'll be one of those things where Carnage will become much more widely available when actually rereleased. I know the Venom and Spider-Man reissues from a year or two back were the exact same way.
Or this tanks the aftermarket prices enough to make getting one more accessible.

He goes in an out at most of the Japanese retailers, but if you don't see the re-stock within an hour or two he's gone so far. He's on Amazon for $110 to $120, and on eBay for about the same or a little less. The only way to get him right now is pay a little extra or be REALLY quick on hitting re-stocks. I already have him from the first release, but I'm interested in the pattern of this re-release to know what to expect for all re-releases.
Something similar seems to be happening with re-stocks on tiger stripe Wolverine--he's selling out within hours everywhere. The first time he came out he hung around for a year or more, but this time I'm not sure we'll even get to see a review of what's new in the re-release before he sells out. 😯

I've been seeing collectors post in-stock notifications on Reddit multiple times a day for most of the last week. They seem to put up 1 or 2 at a time and send everyone racing to get it like Target often does on re-stocks.

Yeah it's definitely individual units - I've gotten the notification, seen it was in stock, and gone before I can even add it to cart. Definitely still luck of the draw, just makes your odds slightly better.
The unmasked head that came with Magneto was ok, but I had two major issues with it. One, the skin tone was way too pale, and two, it looked a little small. Also a personal preference, but I would have preferred the eyes to be whited out.
After seeing Robo talk about it on one of his 'play day' videos, I asked Casting Cave if they could adjust their Legends Magneto head to fit on a MAFEX, and they were able to. So I bought that and love the results:
