Just received Whiplash, hot off the porch in 90° NJ. It’s not the strength of his wrist I’m concerned about already. It’s the tightness of the wrist peg in his arm. I needs ratchets to hold in place. Otherwise, that whip wilts.

Basically the whip is unposable in any hand where it doesn't touch something, the ground, a wall behind him, the shelf. Might last for a minute but no way it makes even 5

Are those the same damned Repulsor blast hands on the Model 9 that DON'T HINGE as on the 80th anniversary figures? If they were going to reuse those so many times, WHY didn't they make them hinge?  It is EXTREMELY aggravating.  You can't pose him holding his helmet, or any other decent non fist pose.  There are at least 2 other Armors that are similar that have a hinge AND a hole for the blast effect.  It's disgusting at this point.  REDO THE DAMNED CLASSIC REPULSOR BLAST HANDS WITH A HINGE PLEASE. Jeez.

Got Count Nefaria, and he’s awesome! I have loved this powerhouse villain for years. He was the mysterious villain behind a lot of events in Iron Man’s Heroes Return comics. And of course he’s an epic classic Avengers villain, capable of defeating Thor, Iron Man (who at least managed to overpower Nefaria for a couple of seconds), Ms. Marvel (Carol), Wonder Man, Vision—everybody.

It’s really fun to get a great superheavy weight villain like this!

I highly recommend checking out this Count Nefaria respect thread which collects a lot of his greatest moments with comic scans:

Yep, got my shipping notice from EE for the case of six and my two extra She-Hulks which weren't supposed to be here until August, lol. When I try to save a little money it almost always backfires, lol.

I bought Nefaria because he's X-Men adjacent, and because the figure just stands out in the wave and warranted purchase.  However, upon looking at his well done head sculpt, it did occur to me, could one remove the grey streaks from his hair and put him on a more Victorian looking body like a Hellfire Club or Morlun and have a pre-transformation Nathaniel Essex?  Just a thought.

Same.  He only appeared in X-Men issue #94 though right?  Which is plenty for me, this and Giant-Size #1 were my most-wanted comics as a kid.

Got Nefaria and Model 09 this week.  Hate that Nefaria cape, and I hope they NEVER do a cape that is held on by a peg ever again.  I really can't understand why they ever do those, but maybe I'm overlooking something--does anyone actually like they way they engineered that cape?  I do see that they tried to minimize the issue by designing it to drape slightly over his right shoulder to help hold it up and that does help a bit, but I still hate it.  Seems like the cord around his chest could have been a part of the cape and a way to help keep the cape on.  Other than that I love the figure.

I hadn't noticed the smoking repulsor effects that come with Model 09 until I opened him up.  LOVE those, and I'm sure we'll see it plenty in future releases.  That figure is SO well-engineered.  I don't love the aesthetic of those huge Megaman boots, but I suppose that's not Hasbro's fault so I'm mostly fine with it.

Is the retro Iron Man from 2018 supposed to be Model 09 with smaller boots, or is this a different armor?

My impression is that The Model 09 Neo-Classic armor is the same as the one with the MegaMan boots. Those boots were just artistic license taken by JRJr, and not indicitive of any kind of actual change to the armor itself. And personally, I prefer the more narrow boots as seen in its first appearance, and the above figure.

Yeah I’d love to get the Neo-Classic Armor again with normal boots as well. It’s a great figure!

It would be nice to get these characters to go with him!

Mandarin

Titanium Man

Living Laser

Fin Fang Foom

And the reason the Neo-Classic Armor was first used— Firepower!

I am much more interested in the ancillary characters than more endless iterations of the armor - but I understand the ride I'm on.

Here's me hoping that the retro Iron Man line performed well from a sales standpoint and we get to see another wave.    It was such a bummer that the FF retro wave was such a monumental flop that any further FF Retro ideas were probably treated as radioactive at Hasbro - there were SO many characters they could have squeezed in.

There are plenty of Iron Man characters that would be fun to have them include in a follow up wave.  So fingers crossed -  since this wave is dynamite.   Whiplash, Count Nefaria and She-Hulk is a strong 3 for 3 on non-armored characters.   If they could repeat that with a second wave it would be amazing.

I wouldn’t give up hope on F4 figures, be it retro cards or BAF wave. They’ve got a movie coming.
